Summary In the astronomical treatise ryabhatya of ryabhata several verses are interpolated, namely all those verses in which either Brahman was mentioned or extremely large periods were introduced. The interpolator was known to AlBrn as ryabhata of Kusumapura, who belongs to the school of the elder ryabhata. The aim of the interpolator was to bring the teaching of the elder ryabhata into accordance with the revelation of Svayambh. Svayambh is another name for Brahm.  相似文献

Summary In inbred mice possessing high and low tissue superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, it was observed that the difference in the SOD activities of the liver homogenates during development attains the maximum characteristic of the strain by about the 150th day. Subsequently, the SOD activity change displays a tendency in contrast with the age and the basic state. Summary The miracle of caryokinesis was the starting point that stimulated Alexander G. Gurwitsch to carry out his famous mitogenetic experiments in 1923. The results obtained confirmed his hypothesis of a weak radiation from cells, which is able to trigger the growth of other cells. Extensive experimental work within the first two decades after this discovery indicated that the problem of mitogenetic radiations is generally related to the biological significance of UV-radiation. Both energetic and informational aspects have to be considered, namely radiation effective in activating molecules, and that involved in arranging them into larger units.The molecular organization of biological structures is evidently governed by nonequilibrium conditions needing the uptake or emission of radiation. These concepts of A. G. Gurwitsch can be linked with modern approaches based on hypotheses of coherence in biology, synergetics and dissipative structures. However, the question of causal interrelationships between this part of non-equilibrium radiation and biological matter on different levels of evolution has to be solved now.  相似文献

Conclusion (1) The maximal reactions of cerebral resistance vessels arise at the stimulation frequency of 30 cps, the maximal reactions of capacitance vessels at the frequency of 10 cps. (2) Reactions of resistance vessels in the pulmonary lobe increase in the range of stimulation frequencies from 11–50 cps, maximal reactions of pulmonary capacitance vessels are observed at the frequency of 30–40 cps. (3) Reactions of resistance vessels situated below the abdominal aorta bifurcation increase progressively in the range of frequencies from 6–50 cps, the magnitude of capacitance vessel reaction reaching its maximum value at 20 cps.

Summary A Ginkgo biloba extract (Gbe) containing flavonoids, among other compounds, was tested for the release of activated oxygen species ( , H2O2, OH.) during the stimulation of human neutrophils (PMNs) by a soluble agonist. The extract slows down O2-consumption (respiratory burst) of stimulated cells by its inhibitory action on NADPH-oxidase, the enzyme responsible for the reduction of O2 to . Consequently, superoxide anion ( ) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) production is significantly decreased when the PMNs stimulation is done in the presence of the extract at concentrations of 500, 250 and 125 g/ml. Moreover, the hydroxyl radical generation (OH.) is very much decreased at concentrations as low as 15.6 g Gbe/ml, which indicates that the extract also has free radical scavenging activity. Gbe is able at least to reduce very severel the activity of myeloperoxidase contained in neutrophils. This enzyme, secreted into the intra and extracellular medium, catalyzes the oxidation of chloride (Cl) by H2O2 to yield strong oxidants (HOCl, chloramines) which are implicated in inflammatory processes  相似文献
