This article concerns the temperature anomalies during the high index phase of the northern annual mode for the wintertime from January to March, The response of the zonal and meridional winds and the temperature advection caused by the anomalous horizontal wind are investigated. The results show that both the zonal and meridional winds experience strong anomalies and the temperature advection induced by both the anomalous zonal and meridional winds is responsible for the temperature anomalies associated with the high index northern annual mode. The temperature advection induced by the anomalous zonal wind contributes dominantly to the cooling in the Atlantic and the Bering Sea while the temperature advection induced by the anomalous merional wind contributes dominantly the warming in the United States of America and the cooling in southern Europe and Canada. The superposed influences caused the obvious warming in north Eurasia.  相似文献

 利用1948~2004年共57年的对流层顶气压场和温度场资料,对全球对流层顶平均温压场的空间分布结构、年际和年代际变化以及季节变化进行了分析.结果表明:①热带对流层顶和极地对流层顶的平均气压场的空间位置和热状况大致吻合,并存在空间波动性,两半球对流层顶的温压场具有显著的非对称性;②对流层顶的纬向气压与温度距平场都具有不同尺度的年际和年代际变化,两极地区对流层顶的温压场最不稳定,两半球中纬度地区的时间演变尺度存在明显差异.对流层顶断裂带及其对应温度的时空波动存在反位相关系,20世纪70年代末温度出现突变现象,此时对流层顶断裂带迅速向南部空间移动;③不同季节对流层顶的温压场都将进行空间结构的调整,两者之间存在着季节变化的协调性,但北半球较南半球的演变过程复杂;④对流层顶温压场纬向距平的季节变率可划分为5个位相不同的时空波动区域,构成了气压场和温度场的经向型相关结构.北极地区气压场变化有超前于温度场变化的趋势,对流层顶断裂带的温度季节变化存在着双峰波动结构.冬半年断裂区的地理位置较夏半年稳定,气压场和温度场的最大季节变程均发生在南极.  相似文献

Global atmospheric variables can be physically decomposed into four components:(1) the zonal time averaged climate symmetric component,(2) the time averaged climate asymmetric,(3) the zonal-mean transient symmetric anomaly,and (4) the transient asymmetric anomaly.This study analyzes the relationships between the intra-seasonal and inter-annual variability of planetary scale decomposed zonal and meridional winds in the tropopause,and oscillations such as those from the El Ni o-Southern Oscillation (ENSO),the Arctic Oscillation (AO) and the Antarctic Oscillation (AAO).The tropical inter-annual zonal mean wind anomalies in the tropopause are linked with the ENSO cycle and can propagate into the subtropics,mid-latitudes,and polar front regions via abnormal meridional vertical cells.Similarly,tropical intra-seasonal (40-60-d) zonal wind anomalies can reach the subtropics and mid-latitudes.The polar intra-seasonal zonal wind anomalies in the tropopause can propagate toward high-latitude areas.Thus,the AO and the AAO are the result of the interaction and propagation of these planetary scale zonal wind anomalies.  相似文献

基于美国国家大气研究中心的CCSM3(community climate system model version 3)模式,对淡水扰动试验下不同平均强度热盐环流(thermohline circulation,THC)的年代际波动特征及北大西洋气候响应特征进行研究。结果表明,百年以上尺度的THC变化对其年代际尺度波动产生显著影响,高平均强度下THC的年代际波动周期更长、更显著。对不同平均强度下北大西洋海、气要素与THC在年代际尺度上的相关分布进行分析,发现在高平均强度下,THC与海表温度(sea surface temperature,SST)的相关呈现为经向三核型分布,与海平面气压(sea lever pressure,SLP)的相关呈现为类NAO(North Atlantic oscillation)分布,而在低平均强度下,则不存在这2种模态分布;同时,在不同平均强度下,THC与各要素间的相关程度也不同,高平均强度下相关程度更高。  相似文献

Using 1961—1995 monthly atmospheric apparent heat source/sink <Q1> over the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau (QXP) and reanalysis data of NCEP/NCAR, and 1961—1994 monthly SST of UK/GISST2, the statistical study is undertaken on the QXP heat source/sink in relation to both atmospheric circulation in Asia and El Niño/La Niña events. It is discovered that there exists noticeable interaction in a quasi-4-year period among the <Q1> of the QXP, low-level meridional winds east of the QXP, low-level zonal winds in the equatorial Pacific, SST in the equatorial eastern Pacific, and the circulation at mid and high latitudes north of the QXP. They have difference in phase. The cold source intensity of the QXP in winter favours a low-level meridional wind anomaly to prevail in the mainland of China and its coast east of the QXP and to last until the subsequent autumn. The wind anomaly can induce a low-level zonal wind anomaly of the tropic Pacific that finally affects an El Niño/La Niña event in the autumn and subsequent winter. The event in autumn/winter has effect on the deep trough position and cold air track of East Asia in next winter that influences the intensity of the QXP winter cold source.  相似文献

美国西北研究机构(NWRA:NorthWest Research Associates)发布了1963-1992年期间在Kwajalein岛礁(8°N,167°E)上共计1862次火箭探测的平流层风场和温度剖面.本文选取测量较为连续的1969-1972年期间共计345个风场剖面来研究平流层月平均风场及其两年变化、年变化和半年变化的特征.同时与目前应用较为广泛的风场模式HWM07(Horizontal Wind Model:2007)和CIRA86(COSPAR International Reference Atmosphere:1986)进行了比较.火箭测量的4年逐月平均纬向风在夏季为西向风,并在8月41km处达到最大值45ms-1;在冬季变为东向风,并在3月57km处达到最大值47ms-1.全年的经向风在60km以下基本上是北向风且风速低于10ms-1.纬向风在20~35km之间以两年变化为主,振幅在10~17ms-1之间;在45~55km之间以半年变化为主,振幅是16~25 ms-1之间;在5km以上以年变化为主,振幅在16~25 ms-1之间.测量风场与HMW07相比,HWM07的西向风在7月46km处达到最大值38ms-1,东向风在2月60km处达到最大值37ms-1,均小于测量风场的峰值.测量风场与CIRA86相比,CIRA86的西向风在7月49km处达到最大值36ms-1,东向风在3月60km处达到最大值43ms-1,仍小于测量风场的峰值.测量风速稍大于模式风速的可能原因之一是测量风场包含了背景风场和各种波动成分,而模式风场是气候学平均的结果;此外,HWM07和CIRA86虽然包含了不少探空火箭数据,但并没有包含在Kwajalein岛礁的测量资料.  相似文献

The Wuhan meteor radar is the first all-sky meteor radar in China. The circulation near the mesopause from February to September 2002 is studied based on the data obtained by the Wuhan meteor radar. The zonal wind is usually eastward in winter from 80 to 100 km. The mean zonal wind become westward from March to early of May, when the winter circulation reverses to the summer circulation. But at the meteor heights, the zonal circulation usually becomes eastward after the middle of May. The meridional circulation is always equatorward. The peaks of the meridional wind move downward with the height, and the peak value reaches its maximum of 21 ms^-1 in July. Having made a comparison between monthly mean wind and HWM93 model wind, the value of southward wind, the maximal value of eastward wind as well as the reversal height of zonal wind are found to be quite different from each other.  相似文献

Observational study indicated that the summer precipitation over Eastern China experienced a notable interdecadal change around the late-1990s. Accompanying this interdecadal change, the dominant mode of anomalous precipitation switched from a meridional triple pattern to a dipole pattern, showing a "south-flood-north-drought" structure (with the exception of the Yangtze River Valley). This interdecadal change of summer precipitation over Eastern China was associated with circulation anomalies in the middle/upper troposphere over East Asia, such as changes in winds and corresponding divergence, vertical motion and moisture transportation (divergence), which all exhibit remarkable meridional dipole structures. Furthermore, on the internal dynamic and thermodynamic aspects, the present study investigated the influence of the midtroposphere zonal and meridional flow changes over East Asia on the interdecadal change around the late-1990s. Results suggested that, during 1999-2010, the East Asia subtropical westerly jet weakened and shifted poleward, forming a meridional dipole feature in anomalous zonal flow. This anomalous zonal flow, on one hand, induced changes in three teleconnection patterns over the Eurasian continent, namely the "Silk Road" pattern along the subtropical upper troposphere westerly jet, the East Asia/Pacific (EAP) pattern along the East Asian coast, and the Eurasia (EU) pattern along the polar jet; on the other hand, it brought about cold advection over Northern China, and warm advection over Southern China in the mid-troposphere. Through these two ways, the changes in the zonal flow induced descent over Northern China and ascent over Southern China, which resulted in the anomalous "south-flood-north-drought" feature of the summer precipitation over Eastern China during 1999-2010.  相似文献

利用2008~2011年间EISCAT(european incoherent SCATter)雷达场向观测数据计算低F层子午风,分析比较了其季节变化特征。统计结果表明:低太阳活动期间,白天的极向子午风在冬季最强,在夏季最弱;白天极向子午风在夏季的持续时间最短;夜晚的赤道向子午风在春季最大。对比发现HWM07(horizontal wind model 07)模式在低太阳活动期间基本上能够较好重现低F层中性子午风的日变化特征,预测结果和雷达观测都表现出明显的日变化特征,即白天出现极向子午风夜晚,出现赤道向子午风。具体地比较发现,模式的预测结果在春夏季与雷达结果相差较大,而在秋冬季比较一致。  相似文献

利用完全耦合的气候模式(FOAM), 通过两组理想的水球试验, 研究水球气候系统中的平均气候态和经向热量输送。两组水球试验分别是Aqua和Ridge, 前者整个星球完全被水覆盖, 没有任何陆地, 后者与前者的唯一区别是从南极到北极有一道连续的地脊。相比于现实世界, 水球世界的气候更加温暖, 极地几乎没有海冰。北半球的经向温度梯度较现实世界弱, 导致北半球的大气经向热量输送较小。这些差别主要来源于海陆分布改变造成的行星反照率的改变, 而云量的增加部分抵消了这种改变。尽管在两个水球试验中海洋环流和平均温度场差别很大, 但大气平均气候态差别不大。不同于Ridge, 在Aqua中赤道区域出现“反”哈德雷环流, 使得低纬度大气向赤道方向输送热量。尽管水球世界的海洋环流与现实世界相比发生了巨大改变, 但总的经向热量输送及其在大气和海洋之间的分配依然保持稳定。中小尺度的涡旋和扩散引起的经向热量输送部分抵消了大尺度环流引起的经向热量输送, 尤其在中纬度起着重要作用。  相似文献

为刻画整个太平洋内区经向热输送的基本特征及其季节变化,并初步探讨变化的原因,基于Argo温盐资料,利用P矢量法反演了太平洋的绝对地转流(AGC),并结合Ekman流,分析了年平均和季节平均的经向热输送。结果显示,在13°S~13°N,经向热输送主要由Ekman经向热输送控制,季节变化显著,且南北半球变化相反,北半球1-3月有北向输送最大值,8-10月当经向热输送转为南向时,Ekman经向热输送达到最小;南北太平洋经向热输送的季节变化存在显著的不对称特征,北太平洋的明显强于南太平洋,低纬度海域的明显大于高纬度海域。分析表明,经向热输送的季节变化与纬向风应力的变化直接相关,由于未能有效包含西边界流及赤道区域,对比前人的研究结果后推测,西边界流和赤道流在维持南北太平洋经向热输送的平衡中扮演了重要角色。  相似文献

The multi-spatial variability modes of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (MOC) are identified in the natural coupled simulation of two climate models, the MOC either oscillates at decadal scales with strong cross- equatorial flow or fluctuates locally at interannual scales with weaker cross-equatorial flow. Former studies mainly emphasize the paleo-environmental and paleo-climatic impacts of the meridional overturning states transition; this analysis indicates the existence of the multi-spatial variability modes of the MOC at interannual to decadal scales. Further analysis indicates that the conventionally used MOC index, which is defined as the maximum zonal mean meridional stream-function of the North Atlantic, cannot properly describe the multi-spatial variability characteristics of the MOC.  相似文献

根据第8代国际地磁参考场模型,计算并分析了1900-2000年地球主磁场及长期变化的空间功率谱,并将长期变化谱分解为稳定和漂移谱、漂移谱又分解为经向漂移和纬向漂移谱分别进行分析,结果表明19002-000年主磁场的空间功率说贩等效磁源深度随时间变化,非偶极子场的等效磁源深度位于核幔边界附近,用n=1,2两阶谐波的拟合直线得到的等效磁源位于地球内核边缘,而且1900年以来离地心向外增大,长期变化中,经度方向的漂移谱起主要作用,漂称谱有30a的周期规律,而稳定谱存在60a的周期变化特征。  相似文献

A compact and cost-effective all-sky Fabry-Perot interferometer, which is produced by Wuhan University and used for the observation of the thermospheric neutral wind, was installed at Chinese Yellow River Station in Nylesund, Svalbard in November 2010, and continuously operated in last two winter seasons. The 92-day all-sky interference data acquired from November 1, 2011 to February 26, 2012 were collected to get the velocity of thermospheric neutral wind, which was calculated from the Doppler shift caused by the movement of oxygen atom at the different layers. The database was divided into two periods: (1) The OI 557.7 nm emission was observed from November 1, 2011 to January 12, 2012. Observations showed that the velocity of horizontal wind is normally less than ~40 m/s on the quiet condition, and exceeded 100 m/s on the disturbed condition; and (2) the OI 630.0 nm emission was observed from January 13, 2012 to February 26, 2012. Observations showed that the velocity of horizontal wind is normally less than ~200 m/s, and enhanced to over 300 m/s on strong magnetic activities. It shows that the velocities of meridional and zonal wind are more consistent with the velocities calculated from the model HWM07 at the higher layer, especially for the zonal direction at nightside auroral regions. Ion drag and Joule heating were the two important processes considered in the analysis of the relationship between the wind pattern and aurora, suggesting that wind speed would be increased and accelerated in the direction perpendicular to the aurora arc when the aurora activity becomes strong.  相似文献

为了研究热源强迫对大气长波调整的作用,利用考虑热源强迫和涡动耗散的β通道准地转正压位涡方程,通过数值计算的方法,揭示了热源强迫及热源强迫下基流和初始场对长波调整的可能影响。结果表明:除了非线性作用和基流的纬向非均匀性外,热源强迫也是长波调整的机制之一。在有热源强迫时,初始波动和热源强迫在纬向结构上的差异是长波出现调整的关键因子。强迫的纬向非均匀性有利于调整的出现,但调整对强迫的经向非均匀性不敏感。基流较大或较小时,都不利于调整现象的发生;而较大的基流切变能够加速调整的出现。热源强迫相同时,初始波动的振幅越小,流场演变越快,波动出现调整的时间就越早;当振幅取较大值时,则情况相反。  相似文献

利用气候系统模式(CESM1.0)研究陆地地形改变对大气?海洋经圈环流的影响。模式首先给出真实海陆分布及陆地地形情况下的大气?海洋气候态, 然后给出平板陆地情况下(陆地海拔均匀10 m)的气候态。与真实世界相比, 平板陆地情形下大气?海洋经圈环流发生重大改变: 首先, 年平均大气对流中心南移到赤道附近, 使得大气哈德雷环流相对于赤道对称; 其次, 海洋的经向翻转流变强, 大西洋经向翻转流完全消失, 取而代之的是在太平洋出现强大的经向翻转流及热盐环流。在平板陆地情形下, 北半球中高纬度大气抬升减弱, 向北的大气热量输送减少, 北半球温度降低, 大气对流中心因而向赤道迁移; 同时, 海洋向极地的热量输送也减弱, 中高纬度海洋变冷, 北太平洋海水密度增加很多, 北大西洋海水密度降低, 导致海洋经向翻转流从大西洋转移到太平洋。  相似文献

利用欧洲中期数值天气预报中心的ERA-40逐日再分析资料,计算得到350 K等熵面上45年冬季气候平均位势高度场,再利用Butterworth滤波器得到等熵面上位势高度30~60 d低频波.应用经验正交分解(EOF)对冬季350 K等熵面上的低频位势高度场进行时空分析,结果表明:在第1主分量场上,空间分布特征最明显的是南极涛动(AAO)、北极涛动(AO)、北美-太平洋涛动(PNA)以及经向偶极型低频变化.这种空间分布形式说明在350 K等熵面上南北半球间通过太平洋地区的经向低频波列传播,使得AAO与AO相互影响,相互作用.第2主分量场上,空间分布特征则表现出全球经向和纬向上的低频波列特征,以及南北半球在大西洋地区的相互作用.将EOF分解得到的前2个主分量场的时间系数投影到1957—2002年冬季的时间序列中,发现冬季全球大气低频振荡在20世纪70年代末80年代初发生了明显的年代际突变,并在80年代末以后逐渐加强.说明在80年代末以后冬季南北半球的低频变化相互作用有所加强,也说明太平洋,大西洋上的经向传播特征更为明显.  相似文献

The hypothesis that animal population dynamics may be synchronized by climate is highly relevant in the context of climate change because it suggests that several populations might respond simultaneously to climatic trends if their dynamics are entrained by environmental correlation. The dynamics of many species throughout the Northern Hemisphere are influenced by a single large-scale climate system, the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO), which exerts highly correlated regional effects on local weather. But efforts to attribute synchronous fluctuations of contiguous populations to large-scale climate are confounded by the synchronizing influences of dispersal or trophic interactions. Here we report that the dynamics of caribou and musk oxen on opposite coasts of Greenland show spatial synchrony among populations of both species that correlates with the NAO index. Our analysis shows that the NAO has an influence in the high degree of cross-species synchrony between pairs of caribou and musk oxen populations separated by a minimum of 1,000 km of inland ice. The vast distances, and complete physical and ecological separation of these species, rule out spatial coupling by dispersal or interaction. These results indicate that animal populations of different species may respond synchronously to global climate change over large regions.  相似文献

 利用1951~2008年1月的中国160站气温降水资料和NCEP/NCAR再分析资料,分析了2008年1月中国南方地区罕见低温冰雪天气的气候特征及其成因,结果表明:①中国南方地区持续的低温和降水叠加是形成罕见低温冰雪灾害的直接原因;②2008年1月亚洲地区大气环流异常,出现了4个较异常的环流.乌拉尔山地区阻塞高压环流异常偏强,导致冷空气活动频繁、气流南北交换较强;东亚槽异常偏强,利于强冷空气南下;西太平洋副热带高压异常偏北,对冷空气滞留在中国南方地区和持续水汽输送起重要作用;高原南侧的南支槽异常偏强,这是持续水汽输送的必要条件;③导致中国南方地区罕见低温冰雪天气的主要原因是大气异常环流的异常配置.乌山阻塞经向环流较大,但东亚槽的位置偏北偏东,在加强气流东西交换的同时削弱了冷空气南下的速度;副高较强,一方面阻挡了强冷气团的快速南下,另一方面加强了副高西侧偏南气流的水汽输送;高原南侧的南支槽的强弱对水汽的输送起决定性作用.  相似文献
