Summary The gonopodium of the mosquitofishHeteradria formosa was studied by transmission electron microscopy. In cross-section the gonopodium shows the following structure from the outside inwards: mutilayered epidermis, basal lamina and central supporting tissue, in which vessels and nerves are embedded. At the top of the gonopodium giant collagen fibres are found, which measure up to 150 m in length and 6 m in diameter. These fibres reinforce the gonopodium.This research was supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. The implantation of one or two pairs of corpora allata of diapausing females in another diapausing females (two weeks old) induces vitellogenesis and laying of one, two or three egg-pods in a great number of females. The denervation of the corpora-allata of a diapausing female also induced vitellogenesis. These results suggeste that corpora-allata of diapausing females are not active. The denervation induces the break of the inhibition "travelling" by the corpora-allata-cardiaca nerves or stimulates the corpora-allata.  相似文献

Summary Mesencephalic, curarized rabbits can develop locomotor discharges with alternating phases of flexions and extensions in hind limb nerves.Moreover, DOPA was shown to exaggerate the extensor activity as compared to that in the flexor. It is shown here that diethyldithiocarbamate, a dopamine--hydroxylase inhibitor, suppresses discharges in extensor nerves and that a subsequent injection of DOPA isgenerally no more active. It is concluded that the supraspinal extensor activation in locomotion is depending upon synthesis of norepinephrine and not that of dopamine.  相似文献

A minute amount of serotonin injected in the nodose ganglion circulation area develops abrupt myosis and general electrocortical synchronization activity in "encéphale isolé" Cat preparation. This hypnogenic effect of serotonin can still be reproduced after transection of vago-aortic nerves caudally to the nodose ganglia. The same injections become ineffective after rostral transection of the same pathway. These results suggest that serotonin may trigger some signs of sleep through peripheric nervous elements in which are probably localized in the nodose ganglia.  相似文献

The Indian antHarpegnathos saltator may be unique among insects in using its jumping capacity not only as an escape mechanism but also as a normal means of locomotion, and for catching its prey in flight. High-speed cinematography used to analyse the various phases of the jump suggests thatHarpegnathos employs a novel jumping mechanism to mediate these behaviours: namely the synchronous activation of its middle and hindlegs. Electrophysiological recordings from muscles or nerves in pairs of middle and hindlegs show remarkably synchronous activity during fictive jumping, supporting the synchronous activation hypothesis.Harpegnathos is not the only ant to jump, and a cladistic analysis suggests that jumping behaviour evolved independently three times during ant evolutionary history.  相似文献

Summary It was found that most feather follicles possess more than a single muscle system but only single nerve endings were observed in a feather follicle. It seems that muscles exist which antagonize each other. Anastomoses of nerves orginating from different sources and flowing of mixed nerves into the feather follicle could explain the antagonistic action of the muscles on the feather follicle.Partially supported by a grant from the Israel Egg and Poultry Board.  相似文献

Summary The electrically-induced mechanical activity of isolated segments of rat sciatic nerves remains unaffected following incubation with 10–4 M colchicine, vinblastine or melatonin. Vinblastine depressed tubulin levels in incubated nerves. Summary After freezing and thawing of rat skin, degranulation and disappearance of mast cell fluorescence became apparent in the skin up to 1 h after thawing. Gradual disappearance of catecholamines from the adrenergic nerves of the injured area occurred during the 1st 24 h. Both mast cells and adrenergic nerves may play a role in tissue destruction after freezing injury.Supported by grants from the Research Foundation of Oy. 基于生物学原理,本文构建了一种能够产生蛇形机器人多种仿生步态的多模态中枢模式发生器模型.该模型通过外部激励的引入,可以实现蛇形机器人运动形式的自由调整和转换,有助于提高蛇形机器人的环境适应能力.文中主要针对任意节数的多模态中枢模式发生器模型的稳定性进行了证明;分析了多模态中枢模式发生器模型参数对系统输出的影响;研究了蜿蜒运动中环境参数与蛇形机器人关节最优幅值的对应关系,从而确定了多模态中枢模式发生器幅值优化调整策略;并通过建立外部激励与模型参数之间的约束,使得蛇形机器人在多模态中枢模式发生器控制下具有三维运动能力以及相应的环境适应能力.最后,利用蛇形机器人平台验证了仿生控制方法的有效性以及与生物蛇步态的相似性.  相似文献

Summary In decorticated unanaesthetized and paralysed cats, locomotor bursting may develop spontaneously on hindlimb motor nerves. In defined experimental conditions, the amplitude of successive rhythmic bursts may fluctuate periodically as if a secondary oscillation was superimposed upon the basic locomotor rhythm. The possible meaning of such amplitude fluctuation is discussed in connection with present data about the generation of locomotion.  相似文献

Summary Nerves staining with antibodies against vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) were detected in the pineal gland of the rabbit, cat and pig. VIP nerves were numerous in the cat but few in the rabbit and pig. A particularly rich VIP nerve supply was noted in the pineal stalk of the cat. The nerves were predominantly located around small blood vessels. Perfusion of a rat intestinal segment with a solution containing sodium deoxycholate (8 mM) increases the rate of firing in periarterial afferent nerves from the gut. Summary Constrictory responses of splenic resistance vessels arising under pressor reflexes were abolished by hexonium (2 mg/kg) as well as the high amplitude (above 15 V) impulses in sympathetic splenic nerves. Summary Axonal anterograde degeneration after ablation of different leg segments of the spiderCupiennius salei was traced using LM-and EM-methods. The pattern of degeneration seen in cross sections of the leg nerves close to their entry into the subesophageal ganglion shows a somatotopic organization of afferents within the leg nerves coming from different leg segments. Summary Adrenergic and cholinergic innervation of the cerebral blood vessels were studied in the carp using fluorescence and cholinesterase histochemistry. Most of the major cerebral and pial arteries were densely innervated with both nerves. Moreover, both nerves, being probably of central origin, were observed frequently on the walls of parenchymal arterioles and capillaries in the sections of the inferior lobe but were only rarely found in the other brain sections.  相似文献
