Polarographic determination of the reaction rate of the second step in an SN1 displacement

Zusammenfassung Die Zeitabhängigkeit des polarographischen Stromes, welche man bei der gemäss SN1 verlaufenden Hydrolyse vonp-Methoxy-2-phenylpropylchlorid beobachtet, ermöglicht die Bestimmung der Geschwindigkeitskonstantenk ₁ der Gesamtreaktion sowie auch der Geschwindigkeitskonstantenk ₂ des zweiten raschen Schrittes, welcher nach pseudo-erster Ordnung verläuft. Fürk ₂ ergibt sich in Aceton, das 5% Wasser enthält, bei 25°Ck ₂=2,0×10³ sec^–1.

Fluoruration du DDT

Summary The fluorination of DDT has led to the isolation of dichloro-diphenyl-difluoro-chloroethane. The introduction of the two fluorine atoms decreases considerably the paralysing effect, but does not seem to affect the toxicity of this insecticide.     

Photodegradable formulations of DDT

Summary The incorporation of diphenylamine and diethylaniline in commercial DDT-WDP formulations sprayed onPhaseolus aureus andTabernaemontana coronaria revealed that both these chemicals enhanced the initial rate of loss of DDT. Both these sensitizers exhibited no immediate adverse effect on the storage stability, pH, sieve requirement and colour of the formulations and introduced no phytotoxicity. Diphenylamine addition, however, had some adverse effects on the suspensibility.Contribution No. 103.     

Dermal toxicity of DDT

Zusammenfassung Auf die Haut von Meerschweinchen appliziertes DDT bewirkt eine Verminderung im Amino-säuregehalt des Hautgewebes. Histopathologisch wurden Veränderungen im Bereich des Gewebes und der Zellen festgestellt.

Fate of internal doses of DDT

Résumé Des doses de C¹⁴DDT de l'ordre de 2.5 injectées dans le thorax de mouches domestiques—témoins restèrent localisées. Des auto-radiographes du thorax montrent que la courbe de concentration de l'insecticide décroît vers la périphérie. On peut donc présumer que chez l'insecte la circulation joue un rôle mineur dans le transport du DDT vers son site d'action.     

DDT-analogs as synergists for DDT

Résumé L'influence de la halogénuration du groupement méthyl dans le di-(p-chlorophényl)-méthyl-carbinol sur l'activité de ce composé comme insecticide ou synergiste du DDT a été étudiée. On essaye de donner une explication rationnelle des faits observés.     

Polarographic study of the reaction of pyridoxal with hydroxylamine

Zusammenfassung Es wurde polarographisch die Kinetik der Reaktion des Pyridoxals mit Hydroxylamin verfolgt. Die pH-Abhängigkeit der Geschwindigkeitskonstante der Kondensierung konnte auf Grund verschiedener Reaktivität einzelner dissoziierter Formen des Pyridoxals mit nichtprotonisiertem Hydroxylamin erklärt werden.     

Polarographic reduction of isomeric pyridine-aldehydes at the dropping mercury electrode

Zusammenfassung Aus polarographischen Messungen an den isomeren Pyridinaldehyden ergibt sich, dass diese in wässerigen Lösungen in zwei Formen vorliegen, von denen nur eine polarographisch reduzierbar ist. Der Reduktion unterliegt das freie Aldehyd, während die hydratisierte Form inaktiv ist.

Zusammenfassung Mit Hilfe der Polarographie wird die Kinetik der Solvolyse vonp-Methoxy-isopropalakohol bestimmt.

Zusammenfassung Serumalbumin von Rindern wurde in 2 verschiedenen Konzentrationen mit UV-Licht bestrahlt und die polarographisch-katalytischen Wellen mit denen von Albumin verglichen, das zuvor mit Harnstoff behandelt worden war.

Detection of DDT in quail eggs: quantitative analysis]

Significant residues of DDT have been found in the albumin and vitellus of Quail eggs, after external treatment of the shell with an aqueous suspension of commercial DDT. The rate of pesticide crossing varies according to the shell porosity and thickness. Residues of DDT have also been found in the control eggs and in the Quail industrial food.
