On the mechanism of the wolff aromatization reaction

Zusammenfassung Es wird ein Mechanismus für die sauer-catalysierende Aromatisierung der Oxime (Wolff-Aromatisierung) vorgeschlagen, der es erlaubt, z. B. die Beckmann-Umlagerungsprozesse und Fragmentierungen entsprechend den heutigen Erkenntnissen aufzufassen. Die einschlägige moderne Literatur wird im Sinn dieser neuen Beziehungen interpretiert.

On the role of divalent cations in the reaction mechanism of malic enzyme.

The kinetic order of addition of Mg2+ and L-malate to malic enzyme has been determined. Mg2+ is the first to bind, and probably acts as a link between the substrate and the active site.

Résumé Les activités de la tyrosine transaminase et de la sérine déhydrase sont augmentées dans le foie de rats normaux ou surrénalectomisés soumis au jeûne. Ces augmentations, qui sont supprimées par la puromycine ou le glucose, ne sont dues ni à une sécrétion d'hormones surrénaliennes ni à une accumulation des substrats des enzymes.

A note on the mechanism of theMarchi reaction in degenerating myelin

Zusammenfassung Behandelt man degenerierendes Myelin gleichzeitig mit derSwank-Davenport-Lösung und Triton X 100, so wird dieMarchi-Reaktion, die gewöhnlich durch dieSwank-Davenport-Lösung ausgelöst wird, im wesentlichen verhindert. Dies stimmt mit früheren Befunden überein. Das Ergebnis deutet darauf hin, dass diese Verhinderung durch Triton X 100 aus der Löslichkeit des normalerweise unlöslichen Kaliumchlorats in degenerierendem Myelin resultiert.     

On the mechanism of pyrogenic action of ricin

Summary The incubation of rabbit white blood cells with ricin, the toxic protein of castor oil seeds, leads to the production of endogenous pyrogens. This induction can be inhibited by the antibiotics actinomycin D or cycloheximide. The results are discussed in terms of disturbed corticosteroid- and Mg²⁺-levels.Acknowledgments. On the molecular mechanism of action of the tetracyclines

Résumé L'usage de modèles moléculaires CPK permet de comparer la structure des molécules de la tétracycline à celle des molécules du RNA. Il est suggéré que le site récepteur de la tétracycline sur le ribosome comprend soit du RNA à double tresse, dont les radicaux formés par GC/GC ou GC/AU, soit un complexe RNA/protéine stéréochimiquement analogue au précedent ou à la portion CC (ou CU) du RNA. Il peut enfin être remplacé par une portion isomorphique de protéine ayant une séquence aminoacidique telle que Glu-x-Glu (ou Glu-x-Gln).

Résumé Une étude de 2-2-dialkyl-1-3-propanediol esters cyclique d'acide sulfureux constatait des filiations structure activité très interessantes. Avec un petit ralongant de la chaîne alkyl il est changé d'un stimulant système nerveux central (dimethyl, diethyl, et le pentaerythritol disulfite) à un dépressant système nerveux central fort modérément.
