Phosphorylated derivatives of the cytokinins,zeatin and its 9-β-d-ribofuranoside,naturally occurring adenine and adenosine derivatives with plant cell-division promoting activity

Zusammenfassung Zeatin-ribosid-5-phosphat wurde einerseits durch Umsetzung von 6-Chlorpurin-ribotid mit trans-4-Amino-2-methylbuten-(2)-ol-(1) und andererseits durch Behandlung von Isopropyliden-zeatin-ribosid mit Pyrophosphorylchlorid hergestellt. Die Phosphorylierung des Isopropylidenderivats in Pyridin ergab ein Allylpyridiniumderivat, dessen Struktur spektroskopisch und durch Abbau bewiesen wurde.     

Synthesis of the anomeric 9-(2-deoxy-1-D-glucosyl)-adenines and their anhydro derivatives

Zusammenfassung Synthesen von 9-(2-Deoxy-1-D-glukosyl)-adenin und 1-(9-Adenyl)-pseudo-D-glukal werden beschrieben. Diese Substanzen wirken bei der Maus erheblich antileukämisch.     

Entero-Hepatic circulation of 7α-3H-DHEA-35S-sulfate, 7α-3H-DHEA-14C-glucuronoside and free 7α-3H-DHEA in the human

Zusammenfassung Während DHEA-sulfat, welches man bei Versuchspersonen in das Duodenum infundiert hatte, die Darmwand fast ohne Hydrolyse und Metabolismus passierte, erfuhr DHEA-glucuronid eine weitgehende Hydrolyse und Rekonjugation. Freies DHEA wurde hier zu 14% metabolisiert, wobei 3-Hydroxy-Steroide mit Schwefelsäure, 3-Hydroxy-Steroide mit Glucuronsäure konjugiert wurden. In der Leber unterliegen DHEA-sulfat und -glucuronid einem direkten Metabolismus.

Synthesis and in vitro cytotoxic activity of new N-diazoacetylglycine derivatives

Summary The syntheses of various N-diazoacetylglycine derivatives are described. The results of an in vitro screening carried out on KB cells for cytotoxic activity are reported. The most active compounds are DGE, DGiBA and DGHA. A possible relationship between the activity and the liposolubility of these compounds is discussed.Acknowledgment. Regulation of plant NR activity by reversible phosphorylation, 14-3-3 proteins and proteolysis

This review highlights progress in dissecting how plant nitrate reductase (NR) activity is regulated by Ca2+, protein kinases, protein kinase kinases, protein phosphatases, 14-3-3 proteins and protease(s). The signalling components that regulate NR have also been discovered to target other enzymes of metabolism, vesicle trafficking and cellular signalling. Extracellular sugars exert a major impact on the 14-3-3-binding status and stability of many target proteins, including NR in plants, whereas other stimuli affect the regulation of some targets and not others. We thus begin to see how selective or global switches in cellular behaviour are triggered by regulatory networks in response to different environmental stimuli. Surprisingly, the question of how changes in NR activity actually affect the rate of nitrate assimilation is turning out to be a tough problem.

Zusammenfassung Es wird gezeigt, dass beim Menschen Steroide in Form ihrer 3-Glucuronoside metabolisiert werden können, und zwar in ähnlicher Weise wie dies schon für entsprechende 17-Glycoside nachgewiesen worden ist.     

Correlation of physicochemical parameters and biological activity in steroids 9α-substituted cortisol derivatives

Resumen Por primera vez se han analizado las relaciones estructura-función de diez derivados del 9-cortisol substituido usando técnicas de regresión de parámetros múltiples. Se concluye que los factores electrónicos y estéricos son de mayor importancia al determinar el efecto del substituyente, y que la unión hidrofóbica también es de importante consideración. Se discute el significado de estos resultados.

Zusammenfassung Es wird über die Synthese von 1-Deamino-bradykinin, 9-Decarboxy-bradykinin und 1-Deamino-9-decarboxy-bradykinin und über deren biologische Aktivität berichtet. Nach dem verwendeten Testsystem scheint die endständige Carboxylgruppe für die Aktivität bedeutsamer zu sein als die endständige Aminogruppe.

Zusammenfassung Eine direkte Synthese vonl- undd-Cycloserin ausl- undd-Serin wurde beschrieben. Die bakteriostatischen Effekte der drei Formen von Cycloserin (d-,l-unddl-) aufE. coli in synthetischem Medium wurden verglichen.     

Antihypertensive activity of 7-azaindole-3-acetamidoxime and indole-1-acetamidoxime

Zusammenfassung 7-Azaindol-3-acetamidoxim (I) und Indol-1-acetamidoxim (II) normalisieren hohen Blutdruck von Ratten und Hunden. Die blutdrucksenkende Wirkung von I scheint auf der Freisetzung von Brenzcatechinaminen und der Erschöpfung ihrer Depots zu beruhen. Die Wirkung von II findet zur Zeit keine befriedigende Erklärung.
