Certain biochemical effects of garlic oil on rats maintained on high fat-high cholesterol diet

The feeding of a high fat-high cholesterol (HF-HC) diet to normal rats for 1 month increased the lipid components cholesterol and triglyceride in serum, liver and kidneys and decreased the serum albumin very significantly. Administration of garlic oil (100 mg/kg b. wt/day) for 1 month together with the HF-HC diet to another group almost nullified the lipid-increasing and albumin-decreasing effects of that diet. The reduction in total lipids, cholesterol and triglycerides and the restoration to normal level of serum albumin were highly significant in the garlic oil group. Adipose tissue triglyceride lipase activity was significantly increased in both the above groups with a much greater rise in the oil group.

Comparison of the effects of imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-2-carbamates and benzimidazole-2-carbamates on the development ofHymenolepis nana inTribolium confusum

Summary The anthelmintic properties of several imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine carbamates and benzimidazole carbamates againstHymenolepis nana are compared. The results of this study, coupled with previous work, indicate that methyl 6-(trichloroethenyl)-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-2-carbamate has the potential of being a broad spectrum anthelmintic, effective against both nematodes and cestodes.Acknowledgments. Temperature measurements on mice irradiated with very high X-ray intensities

Zusammenfassung Es wird untersucht, ob der nach sehr hohen Röntgendosen auftretende Letaleffekt bei weissen Mäusen durch einen thermischen Schock bedingt sein könnte. Subkutane thermoelektrische Temperaturregistrierung während der Bestrahlung mit 3,10⁶ bis 10⁷ r (43 kV), (Berylliumfenster) ergab Temperaturanstiege von 1 bis 4° C während der Bestrahlung. Danach fällt die Temperatur meist wieder ab. Anzahl der Versuchstiere: 12.     

Comparison of the effects of imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-2-carbamates and benzimidazole-2-carbamates on the development of Hymenolepis nana in Tribolium confusum

The anthelmintic properties of several imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine carbamates and benzimidazole carbamates against Hymenolepis nana are compared. 一种新型排烟冷却塔的探讨

首先,根据结构参数在GAMBIT2．3中建立新型排烟冷却塔的三维模型并设置边界条件。在完成塔内汽水换热,抽力及阻力计算的基础上。应用FLUENT6．3计算平台,结合自编程序,模拟发现：新型排烟冷却塔能有效避免因常规烟塔烟道布置产生的射流卷吸负压;降低烟气对烟塔的腐蚀作用;使烟气与热湿空气组成的混合气体抬升性能得到改善。对优化排烟冷却塔结构,进行合理的烟道布置提供了指导性建议。     

基于新的树编码方式用免疫遗传算法解决DCMST问题

本文提出了一种新的树编码方式,可以方便地表达一棵树,简化了树在遗传算法中的编码表达。且新的树编码方式清楚地表达了边的信息,有利于疫苗的设计。此外,本文使用免疫遗传算法,有效地克服了传统遗传算法中解退化的现象。数值实验表明,解的振荡相对于传统遗传算法减小了,且收敛速度更快。     

Modifications with chelating agents of the effects of γ-ray fractionated exposures on chromosome aberrations

Résumé Des graines sèches deNigella damascena ont été traitées par les agents de chélation suivants: l'EDTA, le 2, 2-dipyridyl, le Cupferron, la 8-hydroxyquinoléne et le diéthyldithiocarbamate avant d'Être irradiées par les rayons du⁶⁰Co à des doses fractionnées (2×2 krads) séparées par des intervalles de 0 à 5 min. On a constaté une suppression de l'effet de fractionnement et une augmentation absolue des fréquences de tous les types d'aberrations des chromosomes. Par contre, pour des inter-valles courts ou nuls, un effet radioprotecteur est observé par rapport au témoin.

On the effects of xylocain on the central nervous system with special reference to its influence on epileptic phenomena

Zusammenfassung Es hat sich gezeigt, dass kleine intravenöse Dosen von Xylocain im Versuch an der Katze die zentralen epileptiformen Nachentladungen und die poststimulatorischen Krämpfe blockieren können, und in Analogie hierzu zeigte eine preliminäre Untersuchung am Menschen, dass epileptische Anfälle durch intravenöse Injektionen von Xylocain abgebrochen werden können.     

The industrial asymmetry of the stock price prediction with investor sentiment: Based on the comparison of predictive effects with SVR

As a representative emerging financial market, the Chinese stock market is more prone to volatility because of investor sentiment. It is reasonable to use efficient predictive methods to analyze the influence of investor sentiment on stock price forecasting. This paper conducts a comparative study about the predictive performance of artificial neural network, support vector regression (SVR) and autoregressive integrated moving average and selects SVR to study the asymmetry effect of investor sentiment on different industry index predictions. After studying the relevant financial indicators, the results divide the Shenwan first-class industries into two types and show that the industries affected by investor sentiment are composed of young companies with high growth and high operative pressure and there are a great number of investment bubbles in those companies.     

The effects of secretin on urinary volume and electrolytes in normal subjects and patients with chronic pancreatic disease

Zusammenfassung Injektion von Sekretin ruft bei normalen Versuchspersonen Diuresis und Vermehrung der Natrium- und Alkali-Ausscheidung hervor. Diese Wirkungen sind vermindert bei Patienten mit chronischer Pankreaserkrankung. Der mögliche Mechanismus und die praktische Bedeutung dieser Beobachtungen werden diskutiert.

On combined effects of deoxyfluorouridine (FUDR) with radiations and ethyl methane sulphonate (EMS) on chromosomes

Résumé Des graines deNigella damascena et des graines d'orge ont été irradiés par les rayons du Co⁶⁰ ainsi que par des neutrons rapides. Ils ont ensuite été traités par la déoxyfluorouridine (FUDR) après différents temps de prégermination. On a observé que FUDR accroissait de manière nette les effets totaux des rayons sur les chromosomes (taux d'aberrations en anaphase). Par contre les effets des neutrons rapides n'ont été que faiblement modifés. Des effets synergiques ont également été obtenus chez l'orge après des traitements consécutifs FUDREMS.
