Glycerin prevents the ‘heat-death’ of ehrlich ascites tumor cells

Summary When heated to 45°C for 20 min Ehrlich ascites tumor and NK-lymphoma cells are irreversibly damaged, so that they lose transplantability. The presence of 7–8% glycerol during heat treatment protects EAT cells completely and NK-lymphoma cells partly against this injury.     

Thein vitro effect of various enzymes upon the mouse ascites tumor of ehrlich

Zusammenfassung Die Virulenz von Ehrlich-Ascitestumorzellen wurde durch Inkubation mit fünf Enzymenin vitro stark herabgesetzt. Zwölf andere Enzyme hatten keine Wirkung. Die morphologischen Kriterien für Zellschädigung werden erörtert.

Surface morphological study of ehrlich ascites tumor cells exposed to microware irradiation and heat

Summary Microwave irradiation of EAT cells caused an increase in length and number of surface microvilli. The tumor cells tend to form large aggregates by means of extensive interdigitation of surface microvilli. On the other hand, heat hyperthermia caused a decrease of surface microvilli but an increase of surface blebs. Hence the surface morphology of EAT cells after in vitro exposure to microwave irradiation differs markedly from that after heat hyperthermia.Part of the results was presented a the Fifth meeting of the European Co-operative Hyperthermia Group, Essen, July 1983.     

Short-term and long-term radioprotective effect of magnesium pemoline

Zusammenfassung Magnesium-Pemoline, ein mildes Reizmittel für das Nervensystem, hat sich als gutes Strahlenschutzmittel für kurze oder lange Zeitdauer erwiesen. Für den Schutz über eine kurze Zeitdauer ist die Wirkung abhängig von der Arzneimitteldosis, für denjenigen über eine längere Zeitdauer (bis zu 2 Wochen) ist jedoch eine sehr hohe Dosis (75 mg/kg) notwendig.

Action of sugars on methionine transfer in ehrlich ascites carcinoma cells

Zusammenfassung Bei mit Zucker aufgeladenen Ehrlich-Ascites-Tumorzellen steigert sich das Eindringen des Methionins in die Zelle. Wenn sich dieselben Zucker im extrazellulären Raum befinden, bleibt dieser Effekt aus. Die möglichen Ursachen dieses Effektes werden besprochen.     

Degranulating activity in hybrid cells derived from rat peritoneal mast cells and ehrlich ascites tumor cells

Summary Fusion of rat mast cells and Ehrlich ascites tumor cells was mediated by HVJ. Compound 48/80-induced degranulation occurred in the fused cells formed from two mast cells and one tumor cell, but not in the fused cells from one mast cell and two or more tumor cells.I am grateful to DrK. Effect of tannic acid on the Ehrlich ascites tumor cells

Summary Tannic acid was used to fix and stain Ehrlich ascites tumor cells in suspension. An increase in surface microvilli and cytoplasmic blebs in the tumor cells was observed. The mechanism of tannic acid induced surface morphological changes in tumor cells and the formation of a precipitate of protein-tannic acid-heavy metal complex are discussed.Acknowledgment. Studies on the kinetic of alkaline phosphatase reaction in ehrlich ascites tumour cells with the use of interference microscopy

Zusammenfassung Mittels Interferenzmikroskopie wurde die Präzipitationsrate des Calciumphosphats in Ehrlich Ascites-Tumorzellen gemessen und die Beeinflussung der alkalischen Phosphataseaktivität durch diverse Faktoren untersucht.     

Organ weights of TE mice bearing ehrlich ascites carcinoma growing in the solid form and of C3H mice bearing spontaneous mammary carcinoma

Zusammenfassung Das Milzgewicht karzinomtragender Mäuse ist dreimal so hoch wie das Milzgewicht gesunder Kontrollen.Die Leber karzinomtragender Mäuse ist ungefähr anderthalbmal so schwer wie die Leber gesunder Kontrollen.Das Nierengewicht von C3H-Mäusen mit Mammakarzinom beträgt nur etwas mehr als die Hälfte des Nierengewichtes gesunder Kontrollen.Intraperitoneale Injektion von 0,25 ml Vollblut oder 0,2 ml Plasma von TE-Mäusen mit Ehrlich-Ascites-Karzinom in der solid wachsenden Form erhöht das Milzgewicht gesunder Kontrollen auf das Doppelte.

Zusammenfassung Die Lebensdauer von mit Ehrlich-Ascites-Karzinom injizierten Mäusen wird durch Wasserstoffsuperoxyd und Harnstoffperoxyd auffallend verlängert. Der Tumor wird dabei von der Ascites- in die solide Form umgewandelt.

Metabolism of different histone fractions in ehrlich ascites cells after environmental change

Zusammenfassung In Ehrlich-Asziteszellen, die ungünstigen Umweltbedingungen ausgesetzt sind, hört die Zellteilung auf. Doch auch ohne DNS-Synthese geht der Histon-Stoffwechsel noch eine Zeitlang weiter, wobei die Synthese der argininreichen Histone dreimal so gross ist wie die der anderen Typen. Diese von der Zellteilung unabhängige Histon-Synthese ist ein Teil des Mechanismus, mit welchem die Zellen versuchen, sich an die neuen ungünstigen Nahrungsbedingungen anzupassen.
