This paper sets out some observations arising from on-going research into the use of systemic methods in the planning of complex projects within the National Health Service (NHS) in Staffordshire and Shropshire in the UK. This brief paper sets out the main reasons for the application of systemic approaches, the nature of the methodologies put in place and some of the outcomes and reflections of those involved in the various workshops. Whilst not attempting to be definitive in our conclusions, the authors believe that the results of the application of systemic methods by Health and Care professionals show a range of strengths going forward.Published with the kind permission of Staffordshire and Shropshire Workforce Development Directorate. 相似文献

European Union ( 2011) supports conditions favorable to sustainable growth, responsible business behavior and durable employment generation. Social responsibility (SR) supports this effort; hence EU urges its member states and big enterprises to promote SR to innovate habits of humans, societies and especially decision-makers-towards requisite holism, based on ethics of interdependence, i.e. systemic behavior. Related criteria for measurement of SR of organizations are drafted here. In Slovenia, the ‘Horus award’ promotes public awareness about meaning and importance of SR and encourages it in organizations. 相似文献

In this article we discuss how an interdisciplinary research team partnered with a variety of stakeholders concerned with and/or affected by the impacts of climate change in the Red River Delta of Vietnam. The research, undertaken from 2016 to 2018, drew upon a wide range of methods to investigate systemically these impacts – with a view to the research inputting into the development of (more) sustainable ways of living. The research solicited various accounts of the experience of climate change in the community, set up learning processes in community meetings, and created an interface with government officials positioned at commune, district, provincial, and national levels. The intention was to offer support towards developing a learning process (broadly defined as including learnings/systemic inquiry across organizational levels of the society) to pursue options for sustainable living. The article offers our post-facto reflections which render more explicit (to ourselves and for the benefit of audiences) how the research team, with Hoang as lead researcher, facilitated the inquiry process towards developing a synthesis which underscored the assets for resilience to climate change and supported interventions to strengthen such (defined) assets. 相似文献

C. West Churchman and Humberto Maturana share similar cultural traditions involving frustrations with applying conventional systematic methods in domains of social systems design (Churchman) and neurobiology (Maturana). They have independently of each other developed a rich systemic framework of analysis based on a constructivist epistemology. But there appears to have been little correspondence between the two traditions. This paper explores six possible areas of congruence between the critical systemic perspective associated with Churchman and Maturanas autopoiesis. This initial sketch reveals possible ways forward in applying ideas of autopoiesis to our social world through a more constructive and adaptive conversation with the works of Churchman. 相似文献

Internationally, globalization has been paradoxically translated into colonization, economic rationalist development, nationalism, and closure born of a fear of the implications of globalization and global markets for the least powerful countries, regions, and interest groups. Social problems in terms of the economic rationalist approach are increasingly individualized and citizenship models emphasize the responsibility of individuals and families. Many current human service and social policy models in Australia (as elsewhere) are nonsystemic (psychological, medical, education, crime prevention, and economic). The paper reflects on an experience of undertaking a study of the life chances of citizens in a remote region of Australia. This is a paper about doing systemic thinking and practice in Alice Springs ( Mpwartwe, or caterpillar dreaming) as a social policy researcher attempting to use and advocating a participatory action research approach to social policy development based on a multisite, multimethod research design of perceived, expressed, and normative needs. 相似文献

Developing innovative business models is one of the complicated issues. Owing to the multiplicity of stakeholders with diverse worldviews about value creation and dynamic markets, the development of innovative business models has turned out to be a complex issue. Therefore, this research seeks to: (1) examine the complicated nature of the development of business model problem and, (2) provide a holistic and systemic framework for the development of business models. The proposed framework employs the Soft Systems Methodology (SSM). This framework is composed of 18 phases, which ranges from the phase of finding out the problem of developing a business model to the phase of its implementation. 通过不同保护耕作模式在旱地冬小麦上应用效果定位研究,结果表明:4种保护性耕作模式及秸秆还田处理与对照相比,都有不同程度的增产作用,增产幅度为2.66%~6.65%.其中,以保护耕作夏免耕 秋免耕处理效果最好,增产达显著水平.从成产三因素分析,4种保护性耕作模式主要通过增加冬小麦的穗粒数和千粒重来提高产量;从干物质积累与土壤水分的角度分析,4种保护性耕作处理通过降低冬小麦前期干物质积累,减少水分的无效消耗,为中后期籽粒的灌浆提供了相对充足的水分.图4,表2,参13. 相似文献

The considerable literature concerning problem structuring methods (PSMs) lacks, unfortunately, an understanding about how
users gain relevant expertise. One element contributing to the acquisition of expertise is the availability of knowledge about
standard practices. Making such knowledge about the use of PSMs accessible will therefore improve the support available to
those seeking to gain or improve their expertise. It is argued here that viewing the use of PSMs as a Design Science provides
a framework within which this knowledge may be formalised, evaluated, and presented. Knowledge within the Design Sciences
is embodied in technological rules validated by field-testing in case studies and grounding against a suitable theoretical
framework. Many examples of such rules centred on the models and representations used in PSMs are found in the existing literature.
This is least helpful in showing how the methods are embedded in the broader context of intervention processes. Producing
further, complementary rules focussed on this area of practice will both increase understanding of how PSMs are used and facilitate
the acquisition of relevant expertise. This article identifies what these rules could consist of and suggests how they may

For more than 20 years systems-related ideas have been used to analyze and model failures and disasters of various sorts. The authors outline some examples of the links that have been forged between failures and systems over this period. An overview of the origins and development of systems failures teaching and research at the United Kingdom Open University is also presented, together with two systemic methodologies for the analysis of failure that have stemmed from this work. The implications of recent research on the application of the more sophisticated of these two methodologies are also discussed. 相似文献

Contemporary systems activity can be divided into that stressing feasible and practical short-term measures, and that which is more ideal-aware, focussed on mid-longer term futures, and typically involving on-going community or social systems design. The paper highlights the key differences in approach, but then invites closer collaboration in the cause of the possible contribution that systems thinking could make for a longer term future, with Y3K (Year 3000) as a metaphor for this. This analysis, which derives from work undertaken at Asilomar 1995 and Fuschl conversations in 2000 and 2002, finds that contemporary social system design, which is driven by western culture and is action-oriented, needs adaptation before it could contribute to greater future global harmony. A truly comprehensive systems design process must accommodate a wide range of possible parameters in terms of culture, and appreciation of time and progress. An emerging paradigm as basis for thinking and engaging in social systems design work of the future is offered, which also has relevance to general systems practice. 相似文献

This paper presents a conceptual framework for using energy as a vehicle for holistic development to address: poverty, gender discrimination, community involvement in decision making on social, economic, and environmental issues. The approach is systemic and participatory ironically, energy is always seen or considered in fragmentation from other areas and as a technical subject, without considering it in less literal and more metaphorical terms as an end and means of communication. Energy should be seen holistically. Holism is based on a profound understanding of the interconnectedness of the various parts and their relationship to the whole. The point made in this paper is that, by adding energy to the development plan, we solve nothing unless we also consider community mobilization, participatory approaches, and the role of gender in development. Pradhan's research in Nepal has demonstrated that if one thinks of energy only in technical terms and development projects strive to provide more electricity, the interventions can paradoxically just add more drudgery to the lives of women, unless policies consider energy within the context of the whole social, political, economic, and environmental system. Energy provision is more than merely a technical intervention. Participation uses human energy and the creative energy of human beings in a different way. The heart of participatory development is co-creating (in the sense used by Reason, 1988, 2002) understanding based on communication that is generative in the sense used by Paulo Freire. Generative understanding provides a different kind of energy, based on resonance. So this is a play on words when we place energy in a technical sense and energy in a human sense at the center of development. Also, physicists would argue that energy needs to be considered far wore widely as a basis for communication and life. Some also argue that energy is the basis of all organic and inorganic matter in the universe; it is the communication across subatomic matter. 相似文献

提出了基于导弹非线性分块模型的组合控制方法。对于弹道倾角和弹道偏角采用动态反馈,以及对非仿射型非线性系统的处理方法,保证跟踪误差收敛。姿态角、角速度层的控制,充分考虑了导弹气动参数不确定性和未建模动态、控制量输入的不确定性。对于不确定性采用自适应反演(backstepping)变结构控制方法。对BTT导弹6DOF非线性模型的仿真结果显示了本文方法的有效性。 相似文献

Public discourse in Western democracies, particularly in the United States, is far from the Habermasian ideal of citizens
engaging in a rational discussion of public affairs. Rather than providing an arena for informed deliberation, the growing
expertise of the media, lobbyists, and politicians has sub-optimized the current system of discourse to focus on emotional
manipulation and the creation of polarized interests, each competing with each other for dominance. Avoiding a potentially
disastrous outcome from this unbalancing of public discourse requires a revitalization of the public sphere and a return of
the citizen voice in public decision making. To that end, systems thinkers have a tremendous opportunity and can play an important
