Phosphoproteinphosphatase activity in sea urchin embryos

Riassunto Si è studiata l'attività fosfoproteinfosfatasica in omogenati totali di uova ed embrioni diParacentrotus lividus e diArbacia lixula. La reazione ha un optimum a pH acido, è stimolata da K⁺ e Na⁺ ed è inibita da Ca⁺⁺ e Mg⁺⁺. L'attività enzimatica aumenta tra la fecondazione e lo stadio a 64 blastomeri; in seguito rimane costante fino a blastula con mesenchima; quindi generalmente decresce.

The distribution of mitochondria in sea urchin embryos

Zusammenfassung Zytologische Untersuchungen an Embryonen von zwei Seeigelarten haben in bezug auf die Lokalisation der Mitochondrien keinen Unterschied zwischen animaler und vegetativer Hemisphäre ergeben. Vorläufige Versuche, mit Hilfe einer quantitativen Methode die Mitochondrien in Homogenaten zu zählen, ergaben eine starke Zunahme auf dem Stadium der Blastula und eine anschliessende Abnahme der Mitochondrienzahl pro Embryo.

Zusammenfassung Als Folge von Faltungen und vulkanischen Vorgängen, die in grossem Maßstabe ablaufen, ist der Meeresboden meistens gebirgig. Lokal dagegen erscheint der Boden flach, da die Berge unter Ebenen sedimentären oder vulkanischen Ursprungs verborgen sind.

Résumé Les résultats indiquent la présence de cytokinines dans l'eau de mer de la zone deFucus-Ascophyllum. Des cultures de tissus deNicotiana ont été employés pour prouver l'activité des cytokinines.     

Antibacterial activity in the egg mass of a sea hare

Summary The eggs of a sea hare,Aplysia kurodai, contained antibacterial factors which probably play a role in the defense of eggs against bacterial infection. The active factors were composed of several heat-labile proteins, unrelated to lysozyme, and were produced in the albumen gland.     

海杂波频谱的多重分形特性分析

本文主要研究海杂波频谱的多重分形特性并分析其影响因素．首先介绍了将多重分形理论引入到海杂波频谱分析中的理论基础,然后,采用X波段与S波段相参雷达实测数据验证海杂波频谱的多重分形特性,并采用多重分形去趋势起伏分析（MF-DFA）法对海杂波频谱进行多重分形特性分析、分析结果表明海杂波频谱是一种受长程相关性和概率分布共同影响的多重分形序列,并且频域多重分形参数广义Hurst指数对海杂波单元与目标单元具有一定的区分能力．此外．通过分析广义Hurst指数的影响因素还发现FFT时所采用的时间序列长度对广义Hurst指数影响相对较大,而FFT点数对其影响相对较小．     

Involvement of a sperm aminopeptidase in fertilization of the sea urchin

Summary Inhibitory efficiencies of bestatin methyl ester and its nine analogs for sea urchin sperm aminopeptidase activity were similar to the efficiency of the same compounds as inhibitors either of sperm respiration or of fertilization. This suggests that a sperm aminopeptidase plays a role in fertilization in the sea urchin, possibly through its involvement in sperm respiration.Acknowledgment. Microincineration of sea urchin eggs during cleavage

Zusammenfassung Im Zytoplasma der unbefruchteten Seeigeleier sind die Aschen gleichmäßig verteilt; gegen die Kortikalschicht sind sie hingegen etwas angehäuft. Nach der Befruchtung, im Spermaster-Stadium, ordnen sich die Aschen radiär um den zentral gelegenen Kern. Eine starke Aschenansammlung findet sich an der Stelle der Spindel.     

Inhibition of sea urchin egg cleavage by ribonuclease

Résumé La ribonucléase exerce une action inhibitrice sur le clivage des ufs d'oursins. La source commerciale de l'enzyme, la concentration utilisée et l'état des ufs déterminent les effets obtenus. Ceux-ci varient entre une inhibition totale immédiate et un ralentissement des divisions cellulaires, suivi d'un développement anormal éventuellement abortif.En outre, la ribonucléase a une action complexe sur la membrane de fertilisation, la couche hyaline et la membrane cellulaire. Cette dernière action pourrait être liée aux effets antimitotiques observés.
