The effect of Ni addition on the glass-forming ability (GFA) and soft-magnetic properties of an (Fe1-xNix)75.5B14.5P7Nb3 (x=0-0.6) alloy system were investigated. We found that the addition of Ni was effective in allowing the alloy to approach a eutectic point as well as increasing the thermal stability of the supercooled liquid. Starting from the quaternary Cu47Ti34Zr11Ni8 alloy, the compositional dependence of thermal and elastic properties of Cu-Ti-Zr-Ni alloys was systematically investigated. Quaternary Cu-Ti-Zr-Ni alloys can be cast directly from the melt into copper molds to form fully amorphous strips or rods with the thickness of 3–6 mm. The evidence of the amorphous nature of the cast rods was provided by X-ray spectra. The measured glass transition temperature (Tg) and crystallization temperature (Tx) were obtained for the alloys using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) at the heating rate of 20 K/s. In the results, the differences between the glass temperature and the crystallization temperature (ΔTx=Tx-Tg) are measured with values ranging up to 33–55 K. The reduced glass transition temperature (Trg), which is the ratio of the glass temperature to the liquidus temperature (Tl), is often used as an indication of the glass-forming ability of metallic alloys. For the present Cu-Ti-Zr-Ni alloys, this ratio is typically in the range of 0.5838–0.5959, characteristic of metallic alloys with good glass-forming ability. The elastic constants for several selected alloys were measured using ultrasonic methods. The values of the elastic shear modulus, bulk modulus, and Poisson’s ratio were also given.  相似文献

Bulk metallic glass (BMG) formation was explored in the Fe-B-Si-Nb alloy system though combined use of the atomic cluster line approach and the minor alloying strategy. The basic ternary compositions in the Fe-B-Si system were determined by the intersection points of two cluster lines, namely, Fe-B cluster to Si and Fe-Si cluster to B. 3at%–4at% Nb was added to the quaternary Fe-B-Si-Nb alloy. The casting experiments revealed that good glass-forming ability (GFA) occurred at the (Fe73.4Si8.2B18.4)96Nb4 composition, and 3-mm diameter BMG samples were made. The glass transition temperature (Tg), crystallization temperature (Tx), and supercooled liquid region (ΔTx=Tx-Tg) of this BMG were measured to be 866, 889, and 23 K, respectively. The BMG shows a high Vickers hardness of about Hv 1164, a Young’s modulus of 180 GPa, and a good corrosion resistance in the solutions of 1 mol/L HCl and 3wt% NaCl.  相似文献

The thermal stability and the kinetics of glass transition and crystallization for Zr75?x Ni25Al x (x = 8–15) metallic glasses were investigated using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) under continuous heating conditions. The apparent activation energy of glass transition rises monotonously with the Al content increasing; the activation energy of crystallization increases with Al changing from 8at% to 15at%, and then decreases with Al further up to 24at%, which exhibits a good correlation to the thermal stability and the glass-forming ability (GFA). The Zr60Ni25Al15 metallic glass with the largest supercooled liquid region and GFA possesses the highest activation energy of crystallization. The relation between the thermal stability, GFA and activation energy of crystallization was discussed in terms of the primary precipitated phases.  相似文献

The thermal stability and glass forming ability (GFA) of Zr35-xTi30Cu7.5Be27.5Agx (x = 0-10) alloys were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and ultrasonic techniques. We found that the addition of 1 at.% Ag can considerably enhance the GFA as indicated by an increase in the critical glass dimension from 15 mm in the Zr35Ti30Cu7.5Be27.5 alloy to 20 mm in the Zr34Ti30Cu7.5Be27.5Ag1 alloy. However, with the addition of more Ag the supercooled liquid region (△Tx) and y parameter (defined as Tx/(Tg+Tl)) drastically decreased from 155 K and 0.436 to 76 K and 0.363, respectively, resulting in a decrease in the GFA. Additionally, the elastic constant (the ratio of shear modulus to bulk modulus or Poisson’s ratio) was also used as a gauge to evaluate the GFA in Zr35-xTi30Cu7.5Be27.5Agx alloys.  相似文献

Differences in the thermodynamic functions between the liquid and crystalline states of La-based bulk metallic glasses alloys were calculated with the specific heat capacity Cp and the fusion heat ΔHf,which we measured. The influence of Nd addition on the glass-forming ability (GFA), microhardness, and corrosion resistance of Mg60-xCu40Ndx (x=5, 10, 15, 20, and 25, at%) alloys were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry, Vickers-type hardness tests, and electrochemical methods. The results suggest that the GFA and microhardness of the amorphous alloys increase until the Nd content reaches 20at%. The corrosion potential and corrosion current density obtained from the Tafel curves indicate that the Mg35Cu40Nd25 ternary alloy exhibits the best corrosion resistance among the investigated alloys. Notably, nanoporous copper (NPC) was synthesized through a single-step dealloying of Mg60-xCu40Ndx (x=5, 10, 15, 20, and 25) ternary alloys in 0.04 mol·L-1 H2SO4 solution under free corrosion conditions. The influence of dealloying process parameters, such as dealloying time and temperature, on the microstructure of the ribbons was also studied using the surface diffusivity theory. Based on the quaternary Ti41Zr25Be29Al5 glassy alloy with a critical diameter of 7 mm reported not long ago, an obvious enhancement of glass-forming ability (GFA) has been realized in this alloy by the addition of Cu element. A series of (Ti41Zr25Be29Al5)100?xCux (x=0, 2, 5, 7, 9, 11 at%) glassy alloys have been developed and some of them can be cast into one-centimeter diameter fully glassy rods by copper mold suction casting. It has been found that Cu addition could stabilize the liquid phase and suppress the crystallization, resulting in improvement of the GFA of the alloy. The addition of Cu also increases the compressive strength of the alloy and the (Ti41Zr25Be29Al5)91Cu9 glassy alloy possesses a specific strength (defined as yield strength/density) of 4.13×105 Nm/kg, which is much higher than most other reported centimeter-sized bulk metallic glasses. The present result suggests that the newly developed (Ti41Zr25Be29Al5)91Cu9 glassy alloy is a good candidate for structural applications because of its good glass-forming ability and mechanical properties.  相似文献

The present work is devoted to the development of Fe-(B-Si)-Zr amorphous alloys with high glass-forming ability and good magnetic properties. Using the cluster-plus-glue-atom model proposed for ideal amorphous structures, [FeFe11B3Si](Fe1?xZrx) was determined as the cluster formula of Fe-(B-Si)-Zr alloys. The glass formation and thermal stability of the serial alloys, namely, [FeFe11B3Si](Fe1?xZrx) (x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.75, and 1.0), were studied by the combination of copper mold casting, X-ray diffraction, and differential thermal analysis techniques. The maxima of glass-forming ability and thermal stability were found to occur at the compositions of [FeFe11B3Si](Fe0.6Zr0.4) and [FeFe11B3Si](Fe0.5Zr0.5). The alloys can be cast into amorphous rods with 1.5 mm diameter, and upon reheating, the amorphous alloys exhibit a large undercooled liquid span of 37 K. The saturation magnetization of the [FeFe11B3Si](Fe0.5Zr0.5) amorphous alloy was measured to be 1.4 T.  相似文献

The unusual glass-forming ability (GFA) of the Zr48Cu36Ag8Al8 alloy and the high ductility of the Zr48Cu36Ag8Al8 metallic glass-matrix composites containing Ta powder were reported. The bulk metallic glass rod with a diameter of 25 mm was successfully synthesized using copper mold casting for the Zr48Cu36Ag8Al8 alloy. High GFA of this alloy was found to be related to a large supercooled liquid region and a quaternary eutectic point with low melting temperature. The bulk metallic glass matrix composites were prepared by introducing extra Ta particles into the Zr48Cu36Ag8Al8 melt. The composites consist of Ta particles homogenously distributed in the Zr48Cu36Al8Ag8 metallic glass matrix. The optimum content of Ta powder is 10at% for the composite with the highest plasticity, which shows a plastic strain of 31%.  相似文献

利用分子动力学模拟了Zr50Cu50金属玻璃的形成过程,并获得了不同温度下合金的原子构型.借助金属玻璃中自由体积量等于金属玻璃与对应晶体的体积差理论提出一种自由体积湮没速度法,对Zr50Cu50金属玻璃形成过程中的临界玻璃态转变温度Tc以及热力学玻璃态转变温度Tg进行预测.用该方法确定出的Tc(969.5K)与利用模式耦合理论计算获得的Tc(978.4K)接近;Tg(731K)与利用平均原子体积随温度变化关系曲线确定的Tg(725K)相近.运用自由体积湮没速度法计算的Tc和Tg无需计算各温度下的原子扩散系数,节省了计算时间.  相似文献

The effects of composition and thermal annealing in between glass transition and crystallization temperature on the optical and structural properties of Ga25Se75-xTex were investigated. The glass transition and crystallization temperature of the synthesized samples was measured by non-isothermal DSC measurements. Amorphous thin films of Ga25Se75-xTex glasses were grown onto ultra clean glass/Si wafer (100) substrates using the vacuum evaporation technique. The effect of thermal annealing on the optical gap (Eg) for Ga25Se75-xTex thin films in the temperature range 358-388K is studied. As-prepared and annealed thin films were characterized by X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and optical absorption. Thermal annealing was found to be accompanied by structural effects, which in turn, lead to changes in the optical constants. The optical absorption coefficient (a) for as-deposited and thermally annealed films was calculated from the absorbance data. From the knowledge of absorption coefficient at different wavelengths, the optical band gap (Eg) was calculated for all compositions of Ga25Se75-xTex thin films before and after thermal annealing. Results indicate that allowed indirect optical transition is predominated in as-deposited and thermally annealed thin films. The influence of Te incorporation and thermal annealing in Ga25Se75-xTex thin films results in a gradual decrease in the indirect optical gap, this behaviorcan be explained as increased tailing. The decrease in optical band gap and an increase in absorption coefficient and extinction coefficient with thermal annealing can be attributed to transformation from amorphous to crystalline phase.  相似文献

Based on the thermal analysis, the influence of pulsing current on the glass transition and crystallizing kinetics of Zr41.3Ti14.2CU12.8Ni10.3Be21.4 bulk amorphous alloy has been studied. The obtained results show that after the Zr41.3Ti14.2CU12.8Ni10.3Be21.4 bulk amorphous alloy was pretreated by high-density pulsing current at low temperature, its glass transition temperature Tg, the initial crystallizing temperature Tx and the corresponding exothermic peak of crystallization Tpi were reduced. But the temperature range of supercooled liquid △T=Tx-Tg is almost the same. The calculated results with Kissinger equation show that the activation energy of glass transition of the alloy pretreated is reduced significantly, while the activation energy of crystallization is basically unchanged. The influence of pulsing current on the glass transition and crystallization of theZr41.3Ti14.2CU12.8Ni10.3Be21.4 bulk amorphous alloy is believed to be related with the structure relaxation of the glass caused by the current.  相似文献

Six series of alloys,namely,Ni3Zr6Alx,Ni3Zr7Alx,Ni4Zr9Alx,Ni3Zr8Alx,Ni3Zr9Alx and Ni3Zr10Alx (x=1,1.5,2,3) were designed in this work and the bulk metallic glass (BMG) formation of these compositions was investigated by copper mold suction casting. A centimeter-scale BMG sample was obtained for the Ni4Zr9Al2 (Al13.3Ni26.7Zr60 in atomic percent) composition. The thermal glass parameters for this BMG were determined to be ΔTx = 68 K,Trg = 0.579,and γm = 0.689. Using the ’cluster-resonance’ model for glass formation an optimal BMG composition was determined using the cluster formula [Ni3Zr9](Al2Ni1).  相似文献

The positron lifetime spectra and ionic conductivity have been measured for polymeric electrolyte PEU-LiClO4 as a function of temperature in the range of 120≈360 K and as a function of Li-salt concentration at room temperature. From the temperature dependence of positron annihilation parameters, the glass transition and subtransition are observed, and the glass transition temperatureT g of pure PEU is determined to be 240 K. AboveT g, the free volume hole size dramatically increases with temperature. The variations of positron annihilation parameters and ionic conductivities with respect to Li-salt concentration at room temperature indicate that the Li salt mainly diffuses into the amorphous region in PEU-LiClO4. The increase of Li salt concentration brings about an increase in the number of carried ions, and a reduction of the fractional free volume. 川西坳陷在须家河组沉积期为典型的周缘前陆盆地,受幕式造山运动的控制,其构造层序具有"二元体系域"的特征,即强烈造山期体系域和构造宁静期体系域。构造运动不仅控制着前陆盆地的层序地层发育,也会分配层序内部的沉积物充填。基于Vail经典层序地层学理论,综合利用地震、测录井等资料,分析研究区内构造层序类型及主控因素,阐明不同构造层序内部的沉积充填响应特征。结果表明:须家河组在前陆盆地期(须二段—须五段)可以划分为2个构造层序,其中须二段和须四段为强烈造山期体系域,须三段和须五段为构造宁静期体系域;构造运动是控制研究区构造层序发育的主要因素;强烈造山期体系域以粗粒沉积为主,发育冲积扇—辫状河三角洲—湖泊沉积体系,构造宁静期体系域以细粒沉积为主,发育曲流河三角洲—滨浅湖沉积体系。  相似文献

The magnetic properties of Fe3(1−x)Cr3xC alloys with x=0.05, 0.1, 0.15, and 0.2, which crystallize in the cementite Fe3C-type structure with space group Pnma, were investigated by means of magnetization measurements. These alloys show temperature-induced second-order magnetic phase transitions. The Curie temperature (Tc) of these alloys decreases with increasing x. The isothermal magnetic-entropy changes of these alloys were derived from the magnetic isotherms measured with increasing temperature and increasing field. The maximum values of the magnetic-entropy change are about 0.9 and 3.6 J·kg−1·K−1 at Tc =360 K for x = 0.05 in a magnetic field change from 0 to 1 T and 0 to 5 T, respectively.  相似文献
