Zusammenfassung Es werden der chromatographische Nachweis und die Bestimmung der Fusarinsäure als Kupferchelat mittels der Rundfiltertechnik beschrieben. Die durchschnittliche Breite des Chelatstreifens steht in einem linearen Verhältnis zu dem Logarithmus der Konzentration von Fusarinsäure. In einem Kulturfiltrat vonF. vasinfectum Atk. war ein Zusatz von reiner Fusarinsäure quantitativ nachweisbar. Rf-Werte von Cu und Cu-Fusarinsäure-Komplexen in 12 Lösungsmitteln werden angegeben.     

Chromatographic conditions in the expression of corticosteroid receptor specificity.

It is shown that cytosol preparations bound with various concentrations of a steroid are necessary to reveal physicochemically distinct, heterogeneous and polymorphic receptors present in the hormone specific target organ, that these cannot be fully appreciated in one-shot experiments at suboptimal steroids levels, and that they escape detection by equilibrium binding and Scatchard analysis alone.     

The isolation and amino acid sequences of new pyroglutamylpeptides from snake venoms

Zusammenfassung Die Strukturaufklärung von zwei neuen tryptophanhaltigen Peptiden im Schlangengift vonAgkistrodon halys blomhoffii ergeben:l-Pyroglutamyl-l-Glutaminyl-l-Tryptophan undl-Pyroglutamyl-l-Asparaginyl-l-Tryptophan. Diese Peptide sind in Schlangengiften der Viperidae- und Crotalidae-Arten verbreitet.

On the normative dimension of the St. Petersburg paradox

In this paper I offer an account of the normative dimension implicit in D. Bernoulli’s expected utility functions by means of an analysis of the juridical metaphors upon which the concept of mathematical expectation was moulded. Following a suggestion by the late E. Coumet, I show how this concept incorporated a certain standard of justice which was put in question by the St. Petersburg paradox. I contend that Bernoulli would have solved it by introducing an alternative normative criterion rather than a positive model of decision making processes.

A simple and rapid method for isolation of high quality mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) is presented in this report. Using this method, isolation and restriction site maps for 10 enzymes of the mtDNA of Drosophila serrata were established.

Riassunto Le urine di un paziente affetto da melanoma maligno sono state analizzate con la tecnica cromatografica per studiare il pigmento melanico in esse contenuto. Usando come rivelatore lap-dimetilaminobenzaldeide di Ehrlich sono state riconosciute tre chiazze che si ritiene di attribuire alla melanina, composto poco solubile e separabile dal resto mediante sedimentazione.

Zusammenfassung Nach Vorbehandlung von Hefezellen mit Griseofulvin (selektive Eliminierung von Prototrophen) zu nachfolgender UV-Behandlung und Induktion von Mutanten, haben die bestrahlten Zellen der überlebendenRhodotorula-Population fünfmal mehr Auxotrophe als die Kontrollen ohne das Antibiotikum.

Résumé Chez les Turbellaires, l'auteur a trouvé de l'uroporphyrine dans les vers des genresDugesia etCura, et de la coproporphyrine dans ceux des genresPhagocata etBdellocephala. Les porphyrines ont été identifiées par la chromatographie sur papier. Elles sont localisées dans les rhabdites des cellules de l'épiderme et du sous-épiderme de ces vers.
