Cell proliferation and cell function of the mesenchymal cells of lathyritic rats,as revealed by the nuclear size

Zusammenfassung Es wurden biometrisch mesenchymale Zellen des Paradontiums als Parameter der Zellproliferation und-funktion untersucht. Durch Verfütterung von Lathyrogen odoratus wurde ein Lathyrismus erzeugt mit Veränderungen der Membranfunktion und des Ionenaustausches. Die Kerne der Versuchstiere waren wesentlich grösser als bei den Kontrollen (Dosisabhängigkeit).

Identification of hemocyanin in the cyanocytes ofCarcinus maenas

Riassunto Nel tessuto emopoietico diCarcinus maenas sono state identificate le cellule che sintetizzano l'emocianina. Queste cellule contengono materiale che al microscopio elettronico presenta un aspetto granulare con particelle di dimensioni costanti simili a quelle dell'emocianina circolante e che in molti punti sono organizzate in una struttura cristallina. L'identità di questo materiale con l'emocianina è stata dimostrata col metodo dell'immunofluorescenza.

Temperature and mutant expression

Pituitary sialic acid concentration during the estrous cycle of rats

Summary The effect of complete and partial, neonatal thymectomy on parathymic lymphnodes was investigated in NMRI-mice. The results indicate that neonatal extirpation of thymic tissue causes an increase in size and number of parathymic lymphnodes.

Summary The F₁- and F_nR-hybrids ofPlatypoecilus maculatus andXiphophorus helleri (Poeciliidae), producing melanomase spontaneously, contain essentially more free amino acids than the initial species. Further experiments show that the abnormally high content of free amino acids is connected with the spontaneous formation of tumors.

An urinary metabolite of bromazepam

Zusammenfassung Es wird über Versuche zur Isolierung von Metaboliten im Harn des Kaninchens und des Hundes nach einmaliger oraler Gabe von Bromazepam in hohen Dosen berichtet. Die Ergebnisse der Elementaranalyse und des UV-, IR-, NMR- und Massenspektren deuten darauf, dass es sich um das 3-Hydroxy-Derivat des 2-Amino-5-brombenzolypyridin handelt.
