The histochemical demonstration ofβ-d-glucuronidase in the reticuloendothelial system

Zusammenfassung Eine Halogen enthaltende Indolverbindung wurde zum Nachweis der-d-Glucuronidase benutzt. Die Methode eignet sich zur Lokalisierung von reaktiven Kleinzellen im reticuloendothelialen System.     

Phosphoprotein phosphatase activity of bovine intestinal alkaline phosphatase

The phosphoprotein phosphatase activity of a commercial preparation of bovine intestinal alkaline phosphatase (EC 3.1.3.1) was examined using phosvitin and dentine phosphoprotein as substrates. Over 90% and 70% of the phosphorus from dentine phosphoprotein and phosvitin were hydrolyzed in 2 h. The optimum pH of the enzyme for the dephosphorylation of phosvitin and dentine phosphoprotein was nearly 6. No protein phosphatase activity was observed when the alkaline phosphatases from bovine liver and pulp were investigated.     

Differential developmental pattern of acid and alkaline phytase and phosphatase activities in rat intestine

Summary Rat intestine was found to show a distinct acid phytase activity (pH optimum 4.7) in addition to that of an alkaline phytase (pH optimum 8.0). The phytase and phosphatase activities were found to differ in their developmental pattern and responded differentially to some inhibitors. Thus the two activities seem to be due to two independent enzymes and are not the activity of a nonspecific phosphatase as has been suspected formerly.

Zusammenfassung Ein kontinuierliches optisches Messverfahren für die Bestimmung der alkalischen Phosphatase mitp-Nitrophenyl-phosphat als Substrat wird ausführlich beschrieben. Das Verfahren wird zur Bestimmung der alkalischen Phosphatase in der Rattenniere angewandt.

The localization and functional significance of alkaline phosphatase in the vertebrate ovary

Zusammenfassung Es zeigt sich, dass die Wirkung der alkalischen Phosphatase in der Theca interna, im interstitiellen glandulären Gewebe und im Corpora lutea liegt und eine bedeutende Transportfunktion bei den ovariellen Zellmembranen der Wirbeltiere hat.     

Enzyme histochemical reaction of mouse ova

Zusammenfassung Nachweis, dass in den Eiern im Mäuseeileiter grosse Quantitäten von ATPase, Cytochromaoxidase, Glukose-6-phosphat-dehydrogenase, Mitochondrialdehydrogenasen, saure und alkalische Phosphatasen lokalisiert sind. In den Eiern im Eierstock hingegen wurden ebenfalls ATPase, Phosphatase und Lactat-dehydrogenase festgestellt, obwohl von den Mitochondrialenzymen nur geringe Mengen gefunden wurden.     

Efficacy of some histochemical techniques for acid mucopolysaccharides

Résumé L'efficacité relative de certaines méthodes histochimiques utilisées habituellement pour la mise en évidence des mucopolysaccharides acides a été étudiée sur des peaux de rats soumises à des conditions expérimentales diverses. Les différentes concentrations des substances en étude étaient connues, ayant été quantitativement déterminées par la méthode chimique dePearce etWatson. La réaction métachromatique, réalisée avec les précautions nécessaires et avec le concours de la digestion par l'hyaluronidase, nous a fourni une image fidèle de la concentration de mucopolysaccharides acides. Ce n'est pas le cas lorsqu'on emploie l'acide périodique-Schiff ou le fer colloïdal qui ne semblent pas être très utiles pour la mise en évidence des substances étudiées.     

The role of pyrophosphate and alkaline phosphatase in skin calcification (calciphylaxis)

Zusammenfassung Durch KMnO₄-Injektionen hervorgerufene lokale Hautverkalkung kann durch Pyrophosphatinjektionen verhindert werden. Durch alkalische Phosphatase wird die Pyrophosphatwirkung aufgehoben.
