Preliminary report on the incorporation of guanethidine and reserpine into rat peritoneal mast cells in vitro

Zusammenfassung Isolierte peritoneale Mastzellen der Ratte wurden in KRG-Puffer mit Reserpin und Guanethidin inkubiert. Beide Substanzen scheinen unabhängig voneinander aufgenommen zu werden, da die gleichzeitige Inkubation mit Reserpin und Guanethidin die Aufnahme im Vergleich mit den Kontrollen nicht herabsetzt.     

Smallest zinc quantities affect the histamine release from peritoneal mast cells of the rat

Summary Seven individual 0.025-mg doses of zinc administered as lactose tablets on consecutive days, significantly increase histamine release from peritoneal mast cells of the rat. The incorporation of14C-acetate into the lipids of vacuolated rat liver cells

Riassunto È stata studiata l'incorporazione dell'acetato-1-¹⁴C nei fosfolipidi, nel colesterolo e negli acidi grassi di sezioni di fegato normale e vacuolizzato di ratto. Essa non è variata, in nessuna delle frazioni lipidiche considerate, nelle sezioni di fegato colpito da degenerazione vacuolare. Si discutono i risultati in rapporto alle precedenti osservazioni sulla inibizione dell'incorporazione degli amino acidi marcati nelle proteine delle sezioni di fegato vacuolizzato.     

Observations upon the mast cells of rat foetal tissues

Résumé Dans les études physiologiques récentes, il est dit que l'histamine foetale se montre plusieurs jours avant l'apparition des mastocytes dans les tissus foetaux. Le présent travail démontre que les mastocytes apparaissent plus tôt et sont plus répandus qu'on ne le supposait. Ces constatations confirment d'anciennes observations apparemment oubliées.     

Immuno-electron microscopic localization of fibronectin on rat mast cells

Summary Rabbit anti-rat plasma fibronectin (pFN) causes histamine release from rat mast cells in the presence of complement. Fibronectin (FN) on rat mast cells, as shown by immuno-electron microscopy, is principally localized on cell folds, so they may play a role of attachment in the matrix of connective tissue.Acknowledgment. Radioactive amino acid incorporation into the rat pancreatic juice proteins

Zusammenfassung Es wurde der zeitliche Verlauf des Einbaus radioaktiver Aminosäuren (Phenylalanin-3-C¹⁴, Alanin-1-C¹⁴, Histidin-2-C¹⁴ und Methionin-S³⁵) in die Proteine des Pankreassaftes der Ratte untersucht. Ein Maximum des Einbaus kommt zwischen der zweiten und vierten Stunde nach Injektion der Aminosäuren vor, während in der ersten Stunde praktisch keine radioaktiven Proteine nachgewiesen werden konnten. Die Ergebnisse werden verglichen mit denen früher beschriebener Versuche mit Glyzin-C¹⁴.

Effect of sodium octanoate on leucine incorporation into protein of rat liver slices and of Yoshida ascites hepatoma cells

Summary 7.38×10^–4 M octanoate does not significantly modify leucine incorporation into protein of rat liver slices, while in hepatoma cells a 19% inhibition has been noted.3.69×10^–3 M octanoate reduces leucine incorporation to about the same extent (71–76%) in both liver slices and hepatoma cells.     

35S-Sulphate incorporation into myelin sulphated mucopolysaccharides during rat brain development

Summary Rat brain myelin acid mucopolysaccharides (AMPS) incorporate 15%, 8%, 5.5% and 4% of tojtal associated³⁵S-sulphate, 14, 21, 30 and 75 days after birth, respectively. The course of³⁵S-sulphate incorporation into total rat brain mucopolysaccharides, as well in those from myelin, had a similar feature with peak on the 2nd week and a significant decrease on the 3rd and 4th week postnatally.

In vitro andin vivo effects of X-rays and of iodoacetic acid on P32 incorporation into phosphoethanolamine of rat thymus cells

Riassunto Sono stati studiatiin vivo edin vitro gli effetti dei raggi e dell'acido iodoacetico sulla incorporazione di P³² nella fosfoetanolamina «acido solubile» del timo di ratto.È stato osservato che ambedue i trattamenti determinanoin vitro una marcata inibizione della incorporazione nella fosfoetanolamina del P³², somministrato come ortofosfato, e che l'entità della inibizione è proporzionale alla dose.Per i raggi è stato trovatoin vivo che l'entità della inibizione aumenta progressivamente dal momento dell'irraggiamento sino a raggiungere valori del 75% dopo 8 h.     

Cholera toxin B-subunit incorporation into synaptic vesicles of the neuromuscular junction of the rat

Summary The B-subunit of cholera toxin, a nontoxic macromolecule which binds specifically to GM1 ganglioside, was conjugated to colloidal gold and injected into skeletal muscle of the rat. It was taken up rapidly in vesicles in the terminal axons at the neuromuscular junctions. Injection of albumin-colloidal gold conjugates resulted in an insignificant uptake. The results indicate that uptake of extracellular macromolecules into the terminal axon of the neuromuscular junction may be greatly enhanced by binding to gangliosides at the presynaptic membrane, and that it may occur without association with vesicular recycling related to transmitter release.The study was supported by grants from the Swedish Medical Research Council (proj. Degranulating activity in hybrid cells derived from rat peritoneal mast cells and ehrlich ascites tumor cells

Summary Fusion of rat mast cells and Ehrlich ascites tumor cells was mediated by HVJ. Compound 48/80-induced degranulation occurred in the fused cells formed from two mast cells and one tumor cell, but not in the fused cells from one mast cell and two or more tumor cells.I am grateful to DrK.
