Résumé On a étudié sur la souris trois fractions épiphysaires différentes: les fractions Sephadex G-25 F3, UM-2R, UM-05R. La fraction épiphysaire Sephadex G-25 F3 inhibe l'activité hypothalamique hypophysiotrope en empêchant son excrétion. La fraction UM-2R inhibe aussi bien l'excrétion que la synthèse des facteurs hypophysiotropes. La fraction UM-05R se révèle capable de stimuler l'activité hypothalamique hypophysiotrope.

Quantitative ultrastructural differences in the mitochondrium of pleomorphic bloodforms ofTrypanosoma brucei

Zusammenfassung Morphometrisch wird gezeigt, dass die stumpfe Blutform («stumpy form») vonTrypanosoma brucei ein grösseres Mitochondrium besitzt als die schlanke Form («slender form»). Die strukturelle Zusammensetzung des Mitochondriums bleibt annähernd gleich.

Tur Interpretation des genetischen Mechanismus wurden 2 geschlechtsgebundene Loci angenommen, als bisher angenommen wurde, was für einen älteren Mechanismus bei Apiden spricht.

The effect of the venom of the digger wasp Philanthus on the fast and slow excitatory and the inhibitory system in the locust muscle

Zusammenfassung Es wird gezeigt, dass das Gift der Wespe Philanthus triangulum F. bei der Heuschrecke eine reversible Muskellähmung bewirkt, die auf einer Blockierung der Axon-Muskel-Synapse der «schnellen» Faser beruht. Die Synapse der langsamen und hemmenden Faser wird offenbar nicht beeinflusst.
