Effects of histones on embryonic cells

Zusammenfassung Der Einfluss vom Kalbsthymus Histon (CTH) und seines diazotierten Derivatives (DCTH) auf Vitalität und Zelldifferenzierung verschiedener Gewebe des Hühnerembryos wurde geprüft. Die LD₅₀ für CTH wurde bei 25µg/ml der Zellsuspensionen festgestellt. Es wurden keine bedeutenden Änderungen in der Differenzierung der embryonalen Gewebe in Kulturen bei sublethalen Konzentrationen gefunden.     

Cultivation of embryonic organ rudiments on a medium derived entirely from adult tissues

Zusammenfassung Extremitätenknospen von viertägigen und Hypophysenanlagen von sechstägigen Hühnerembryonen wurden explantiert undin vitro kultiviert. Das Kulturmedium bestand aus Blutplasma und einem Tyrodeextrakt des Herzmuskels vom adulten Huhn. Die untersuchten Embryonalanlagen zeigten normale Entwicklung und Gewebsdifferenzierung, obwohl das Milieu gar keine embryonalen Zusätze enthielt.     

Teratogenic effects of cadmium on Bufo arenarum during gastrulation

Developing Bufo arenarum embryos were treated during gastrulation with cadmium chloride in concentrations ranging from 6x10(-7) to 1.5x10(-5)M Cd++ at 20 and 30 degrees C. Initial failures at gastrulation result mainly in axial incurvations, microcephaly, hydropsy and abnormal tail formation. The higher temperature has a dual effect: at high concentrations of Cd early malformations are significantly increased; whereas, at low concentrations the higher temperature prevents alterations.     

The study of atomic nuclei with low and medium energy neutrons

Zusammenfassung Die Untersuchung der Atomkerne mit Neutronen wird diskutiert. Bei den leichten Kernen geben die Experimente Auskunft über die Energieniveaux des betreffenden Kerns. Die Experimente an schweren Kernen lassen sich am einfachsten an Hand einer gemittelten Kern-Neutron-Wechselwirkung interpretieren.     

Effects of cytochalasin H on the embryonic endodermal cells of Microhyla ornata

Summary Cytochalasin H (CH) like CB causes disaggregation of embryonic endodermal cells and reduces their adhesivity to the glass surface. These cells reaggregate on removal of the drug from the medium. Reversibility depends on the duration of drug treatment. The mechanism of drug action is explained.We thank the University Grants Commission India for financia assistance for the Research project and Mr J. C. Effect of locally applied acetylcholine on the embryonic cardiac action potential

Résumé Le potentiel transmembranaire des cellules cardiaques de l'embryon de poulet est étudié ici par la technique des microelectrodes, pendant l'application localisée d'acétylcholine éjectée d'une micropipette. Le potentiel transmembranaire offre 2 processus différents: une dépolarization transitoire initiale à haute vélocité et une dépolarization prolongée et lente qui lui suite. L'intensité et la durée de ces 2 processus varient selon le lieu qu'occupe la cellule dans le cur.     

Effect of dibutyryl cAMP and theophylline on cultured rat embryonic shields

Summary Effects of N⁶, O² dibutyryl adenosine 3,5-cyclic monophosphate (db-cAMP) and theophylline (Th) on cultured rat embryonic shields were studied. After addition of db-cAMP to the culture medium, an increase of the weight of explants and of the incidence of the skeletal muscle was observed. Theophylline seems to be ineffective.

Crystals of reinke in the nuclei of human testicular interstitial cells

Zusammenfassung Es wird gezeigt, dass in den Leydig'schen Zwischenzellen die Reink'schen Kristalle auch im Zellkern vorkommen und darauf hingewiesen, dass eine Modifikation des Zellkernstoffwechsels zu diesen Bildungen führen könnte.
