Hester,the wearer of the scarlet letter,is the most influential woman in 19th century literary.Due to her adultery,she is severely punished.Compared to other women,she lives a more miserable life,which makes her think about her fate and other women's and finally she becomes a pioneer in feminism.Through the analysis of Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter,the paper explores from two ways to prove that Hester is an early feminist.
