Summary 3-Hydroxy-3-methylglutaric acid (HMG) significantly decreased cholesterol, triglyceride and phospholipid levels in whole serum, serum -lipoproteins and liver of Triton-induced hyperlipidemic rats. Therapeutically 50 mg HMG/kg is equivalent to 200 mg nicotinic acid/kg in lowering all these lipid parameters. Résumé Nous avons étudié l'adsorption négative des anions I*O 3 et Cr*O 4 –– à différents bentonites en fonction d'électrolytes additionnés. Pour les électrolytes NaCl et Na2SO4 les résultats sont en bon accord avec ceux deSchofield etMattson; nous avons étudié aussi l'effet de l'addition de solutions de CaCl2; celles-ci produisent le même effet à des dilutions 20 fois plus grandes que les solutions de NaCl. Comme ceci ne peut pas être expliqué sur la base de la théorie deDebye-Hückel, nous avons appliqué la théorie exacte de la couche double; le facteur 20 mentionné plus haut mène à une valeur de=–75 mV. En introduisant cette valeur de, une représentation graphiques–1/c pour les résultats des expériences au Na-bentonite + solutions de NaCl, donne une surface spécifique de 1110 m2/g.  相似文献

Résumé Chez le rat la prostaglandine E1 augmente la consommation d'oxygène et la teneur en potassium, tandis qu'elle abaisse la teneur en sodium dans le tissu rénal et hépatique. On y a observé une corrélation entre l'effet et la dose de PGE1 employée. Cependant dans les coupes du tissu hépathique, la PGE1 est restée sans action. A même dose la PGF2 a produit des effets comparables à ceux qu'on obtient avec la PGE1. Ces résultats indiqueraient que la réponse natriurétique à la PGE1 ne semble pas due à une inhibition de la pompe de sodium des cellules tubulaires, mais à une élévation du flux sanguin rénal.

Zusammenfassung Motorische und sensible Nervenfasern lassen sich im Bereich der Rückenmarkswurzeln (Ratte, L5) aufgrund der Mengenverteilung der Axonorganellen unterscheiden. Bei vergleichbarem Faserkaliber haben Vorderwurzelfasern signifikant mehr Neurotubuli und axoplasmatisches Retikulum als Hinterwurzelfasern.

Summary Basal and stimulated TSH decreased progressively. Basal TSH was suppressed below the detection limit of 0.4 U/ml after 74 h in 2 of the T3 and all of the T4 treated indiduals. At this time, in both groups 3 individuals could be significantly stimulated by TRH (about 5% of the pretreatment stimulation). Summary Uptake ofd-glucose anomers by isolated rat retina was studied. After 3 min incubation at 37°C in the presence of or anomer (750 g/ml), a significantly greater uptake (1.32 mg/g wet tissue) of -anomer was observed compared with that of -d-glucose (1.11 mg/g wet tissue). This result and other data suggest that the carrier ford-glucose transport in the retina prefers the -anomer stereospecifically.Acknowledgment. The authors are grateful to Mr S. A major cytokinin found in coconut milk was isolted by using the tobacco callus growth-promoting assay as a guide during purification. The structure of the factor was determined to be 14-O-{3-O-[-d-galactopyranosyl-(12)--d--galactopyranosyl-(13)--L-arabinofuranosyl]-4-O-(-L-arabinofuranosyl)--d-galactopyranosyl}-trans-zeatin riboside [G3A2-ZR] by various NMR techniques, including heteronuclear multiple bond connectivity by 2D multiple quantum NMR (HMBC), as well as mass spectroscopy and sugar analysis. The optimum concentration of G3A2-ZR for cytokinin activity in the tobacco callus assay was estimated to be 5×10–6 M, so that G3A2-ZR is one order of magnitude more potent than 1,3-diphenylurea and one order less potent than zeatin riboside. At least 20% of the cytokinin activity of coconut milk could be attributed to G3A2-ZR.  相似文献

Summary Maillet's osmium-zinciodide technique gave interesting results in Arthropods by means of nerve histology. Tests demonstrated the importance of the chitinous cuticles as barrier to the particular staining properties of theMaillet's mixture. Summary We publish seventeen letters by Eugenio Beltrami to Ernesto Cesàro, which are dated from 1883 until 1900. They are about academic and scientific questions. Beltrami communicated many of Cesàro's memoirs to the Accademia dei Lincei or the Istituto Lombarde di Scienze e Lettere, and often gave him suggestions for his books and papers in these letters. When Cesàro looked for a professorship in the United States, Beltrami gave him information.In some letters Beltrami discussed questions on geometry and mathematical physics. In particular, the third letter (dated December 1st, 1888) is devoted to the mechanical interpretation of Maxwell's equations. Here, Beltrami shows a new proof of the conditions when six given functions are the components of an elastic deformation.

Zusammenfassung Die lipolytische Enzymaktivität saprophytärer und tierpathogener Mykoplasmenstämme wurde immunelektrophoretisch untersucht, wobei als Substrat menschliches Serum diente. Dabei wurde bei einigen Stämmen die Fähigkeit zum Abbau von 1-Lipoprotein und von-Lipoprotein gefunden.

Zusammenfassung Die Chemie der Polymyxine, einer Klasse von basischen Polypeptid-Antibiotika, begann 1954, als durch Gegenstromverteilung erstmals ein definierter Vertreter, das Polymyxin B1 in reiner Form isoliert werden konnte (L. C.Craig). Partialhydrolyse mit Mineralsäuren führte zum Schluss, dass es sich um Cyclohepta- oder Cyclooctapeptide mit Seitenketten handelt, die, -Diaminobuttersäure (Dab) enthalten (W.Hausmann).Amidartige Verknüpfung der Seitenkette mit einer Fettsäure [(+)-6-Methyloctansäure (MOA) oder 6-Methylheptansäure (IOA)] (S.Wilkinson) verleiht diesen Antibiotika den Charakter von Invertseifen. Sie sind besonders gegen gramnegative Erreger wirksam. Schwierigkeiten bereiteten die Aufklärung der Verknüpfungsweise der Seitenkette (- oder-) und die Beantwortung der Frage, ob das Molekül nebend-Phenylalanin in der Ringsequenz noch einend-, -Diaminobuttersäurerest in Nachbarschaft zur Fettsäure in der Seitenkette enthält. Synthetische Versuche mitd-, -Diaminobuttersäure an dieser Stelle führten zu hochaktiven Produkten, die aber mit natürlichem Polymyxin B1 nicht identisch waren. Entscheidende Fortschritte wurden mit dem bakteriellen Enzym Nagarse (T.Suzuki) erzielt, das schrittweise die Seitenkette bis zum Ringpeptid abbaut. Dabei ergab sich, dass den Polymyxinen die allgemeine Struktur eines Cycloheptapeptides mit-verknüpfter Seitenkette zukommt (Figur 4).Die Polymyxine B1 E1 (Colistin A) sowie Circulin A unterscheiden sich voneinander nur durch eine Variation in der gleichen Dipeptidsequenz des 7-gliedrigen Ringes. Die im Polymyxin B1 vorhandene Dipeptidsequenzd-Phe-l-Leu ist in Polymyxin E1 (Colistin A) durchd-Leu-l-Leu und in Circulin A durchd-Leu-Ll-Ile ersetzt. Im Polymyxin D1 ist neben dem Ersatz der entsprechenden Sequenz durchl-Leu-l-Thr noch ein, -Diaminobuttersäurerest der Seitenkette durch eind-Serin ausgetauscht. Die entsprechenden Verbindungen mit dem Index 2 unterscheiden sich von denjenigen mit dem Index 1 durch einen Austausch der (+)-6-Methyloctansäure durch 6-Methylheptansäure.Die Struktur von Polymyxin B1 E1 und Circulin A konnte durch Totalsynthese gesichert werden (K.Vogler). Weitere Fortschritte in der Erforschung der Natur der noch unbekannten Vertreter sind in Kürze zu erwarten.  相似文献

Summary R. R. Newton has shown that Ptolemy's table of solar declinations (Almagest I, 15) was not computed from Ptolemy's own table of chords. Newton explains this by assuming that Ptolemy copied his table of declinations from an earlier source, and that originally the table has been computed by means of a less accurate table of chords.In the present paper I shall venture a tentative reconstruction of the method of computation of this ancient table of chords. The clue to this reconstruction is a recursion formula which allows a rapid calculation of the chords belonging to arcs of 1°, 2°, ... in a circle. This recursion formula, which was suggested to me by a verse in the ryabhtya of ryabhata, can be deduced from a theorem of Archimedes concerning a certain sum of chords in a circle. I suppose that this recursion formula was used by Apollonius of Perga in order to obtain a table of chords, and that this table of chords was used by a Greek author (possibly Apollonios himself or Hipparchos) to calculate the table of solar declinations used by Ptolemy. If this hypothesis is adopted, the errors in Ptolemy's table can be explained.  相似文献

In late 1912, Fritz Goos at the Hamburg Physikalisches Staatslaboratorium discovered a systematic dependency of arc-spectra wavelengths on the length of the electric arc used and on its electric parameters, such as, for instance, the current employed. In early 1913, at Heinrich Kayser's better-equipped physical laboratory in Bonn, Goos was able to confirm these effects using a large concave Rowland grating. He was able to establish that variations of between 3 mm and 10 mm in the length of the arc produced wavelength differences of up to 0.02 Å violet shift and -0.007 Å redshift respectively. Further inquiry also revealed a dependency of the wavelength on the region of the arc selected for spectrometric observation. All these surprising effects were soon collectively named pole effect.As is shown in this paper, the pole effect threatened the validity of the results of the entire research tradition of high-precision spectroscopy which, around 1910, had excelled in establishing several internally coherent systems of wavelength assignments. These wavelength catalogues had been established by spectroscopists such as Heinrich Kayser, Paul Eversheim and their co-workers in Bonn, by August Herman Pfund in Baltimore, and by Charles Fabry and Henri Buisson in Marseille under the aegis of the International Union for Co-Operation in Solar Research. They had all produced locally consistent, homogeneous systems of wavelengths with estimated errors sometimes smaller than 0.001 Å. However, long before 1913, strange non-local inconsistencies had emerged between these systems that were of much greater magnitude than the estimated error. The discovery of the pole effect opened up the possibility that variations in the arc parameters used in the measurements, which the different teams had hitherto not specified, were responsible for the systematic differences, in their respective sets of measurements, coming to up to 0.025 Å.This paper explores the interrelations between local knowledge production, the strategies for the establishment of local coherence, and the ways in which the community of physicists and spectroscopists handled a possible threat to this coherence after 1913. Around 1930, a general agreement was reached about the physical cause of the pole effect, namely Stark effects, caused in turn by intermolecular electric fields of ions in the arc. Much before 1930, however, the community had already succeeded in standardizing the instrumentation used in high-precision spectrometry and had conformed its research practice to such an extent that from 1917 on the pole effect could be routinely circumvented in high-precision spectrometry and interferometry. Thus, experimentation along with its instrumentation, indeed had a life of its own, independent of the many unsuccessful efforts to explain the pole effect theoretically.  相似文献

Summary -Hydroxy--ethylbutyryl-diethylamide (HOE 17879) influences the hepatic microsomal drug hydroxylating enzyme system of mice in a two-phasic way: First it reduces the overall reaction of drug hydroxylation but not the single enzymes whilst in the second period it increases enzyme activities.Acknowledgments. Summary 3, 16-diacetoxy-5-pregnane-20-one and the analogue pregn-5-ene derivative have been converted into (22R, 25R)-22, 26-imino-5-cholestane-3, 16-diol. The configuration at C-22 and C-25 was determined by transformation into the known (22R, 25R)-5-solanidane-3-one. Application of the Ruschig method led to (25R)-22,26-imino-5-cholest-22(N)-ene-3, 16-diol.
