Prolongation of skin homograft survival by local intralymphatic radioisotope injections

Zusammenfassung Injektion von¹³¹I-Lipiodol oder¹¹¹Ag-Kolloid beim Kaninchen in ein Ohrlymphgefäss verzögert die Abstossung eines Hautlappen-Hormotransplantes am Ohre wesentlich. Bei der Untersuchung der Verteilung intralymphatisch verabreichter Radioisotopen in den einzelnen Geweben wurde festgestellt, dass etwa 50% des¹¹¹Ag-Kolloids, aber unter 10% des¹³¹I-Lipiodols von den regionären Lymphknoten aufgenommen wird und dass Lipiodol hauptsächlich im Lungengewebe, Ag-Kolloid in der Leber gespeichert wird.     

Prolongation of the survival of skin grafts in mice by PUVA treatment

Summary The combined application of psoralen and UVA radiation to skin grafts induced a prolongation of the survival time of the grafts in mice. This was observed using the H-Y barrier, an allogeneic barrier without H-2 disparities, and a strong H-2 incompatible barrier. The effect is probably due to a reduction of antigen-presenting cells, or to other, unknown mechanisms.

Prolongation of hypnosis by 5-hydroxytryptamine (Serotonin)

Zusammenfassung Die Angabe, dass 5-Oxytryptamin (Serotonin) die Chloralhydrat- oder Barbitursäure-Hypnose bei Mäusen verlängern kann, wurde bestätigt. Da aber Stoffe wie Adrenalin und Histamin den gleichen Effekt zeigten, erscheint es möglich, dass die hypnoseverlängernde Eigenschaft des 5-Oxytryptamin auf einen relativ unspezifischen, vaskulären Effekt zurückzuführen ist.     

Experimental hypertension elicited by injections of methyl cellulose

Résumé Des injections sous-cutanés d'une solution de méthyl-cellulose provoquent dans la rate une vraie hypertension artérielle maligne. Les animaux utilisés eurent fréquemment des dèmes et des ascites et toujours des lésions artérielles dans le cur, les reins et ailleurs.

Effect of methyl palmitate on the survival of skin semi-allografts in rats

Summary In experiments with rats, the immunosuppressive effect of methyl palmitate on survival of skin semiallografts was proved. Methyl palmitate was applied in a single dose 1 day prior to transplantation.     

Feeding elicited in sheep by intrahypothalamic injections of PGE1

Résumé Une augmentation de la prise de nourriture a lieu après injection intrahypothalamique du PGE₁ en dose de 21 nmoles, chez les brebis. La température de la cavité abdominale n'est pas affectée par ces injections, sauf une légère augmentation au moment de l'injection et qui peut provenir du maniement des animaux.

Insomnia induced by P-chlorophenylalanine in cats. Its reversibility by intraventricular injections of indolamines

Intraventricular injection of 250 microgram of 5 HTP induces both slow wave and paradoxical sleep, after 20-60 min. latencies, in insomniac Cats pretreated with P-chlorophenylalanine. Direct injections of 5 HTP in several brain stem structures do not induce sleep. The long latency or paradoxical sleep induction and its suppression with chloramphenicol suggest that indolamines are not directly responsible for paradoxical sleep, but that they act by controlling the synthesis and/or the liberation in the periventricular system of some specific paradoxical sleep inducing factor.     

Induction of neurosarcoma by injections of N-nitrosobutylurea in suckling syrian golden hamsters

Zusammenfassung Durch Injektion von N-Nitrosobutylharnstoff in junge Goldhamster wurden in über 50% der Versuchstiere Neurosarkome erzeugt.
