Résumé Dans les cultures de cellules du triton, les ponts interchromosomaux peuvent se former dans les figures métaphasiques sous l'influence d'une solution hypotonique. Ce résultat, obtenu au microscope à la lumière ordinaire, pose la question de savoir si les ponts déjà décrits dans les micrographes électroniques sont également dus à l'emploi des solutions hypotoniques.

Structure of the centromere in telocentric chromosomes

Résumé Les centromères terminaux se présentent comme formés par un chromomère. Leur structure apparaît comme la moitié de la structure centromérique des chromosomes métacentriques.     

Ring chromosomes and leukaemia

Summary The observation of 2 leukaemic patients with ring chromosomes, and their comparison with a few previously reported cases, suggests a close association between this rare chromosomal abnormality and erythroleukaemia and indicate a poor prognostic significance of this finding.     

Accessory chromosomes inPhysalis ixocarpa

Zusammenfassung Das Vorkommen eines Neben-Chromosoms ist zum ersten Mal in der GattungPhysalis festgestellt worden. Das kleine Chromosom besitzt ein in der Mitte liegendes Centromer und tritt sowohl bei der Mitose, wie auch bei der Meiose in Erscheinung. Pflanzen mit diesem Chromosom sind steril.     

Asynchronous puffing in the foot pad chromosomes ofParasarcophaga

Summary The foot pad polytene chromosome IIIL ofParasarcophaga ruficornis andP. misera shows a heterozygous puff in the region 7B-C. InP. ruficornis the heterozygosity is manifested as a difference in the timing of puffing between the 2 homologues. The outer and inner dorsal cells of the same foot pad also reveal asynchrony in puffing at this locus.Acknowledgments. The chromosomes of the didelphiid marsupialMarmosa robinsoni bangs

Résumé L'étude des chromosomes somatiques du marsupial sudaméricainMarmosa robinsoni Bangs, démontre que l'équipement chromosomique diploïde de cette espèce de la subfamille Didelphiinae est composé de 14 chromosomes. Trois paires d'autosomes sont grands et submétacentriques; 1 paire est formée par de chromosomes moyens, métacentriques, et 2 paires sont acrocentriques et plus petites. Le complexe sexuel est du typeXY, formé par unX métacentrique et unY télocentrique, tous les 2 étant les chromosomes les plus petits du complément. La similitude de ce caryotype avec celui du genreCaluromys, appartenant à la subfamille Microbiotherinae, est remarquable.     

Observations on the centromere area of human chromosomes

Zusammenfassung Das dem Centromer der menschlichen Chromosomen (ebenfalls bei andern Arten) anliegende Gebiet erscheint hell, klar und rund. Dies wurde in einigen Zellen bei fast jedem Centromer, bei andern Zellen nur selten oder überhaupt nicht beobachtet. Eine ähnliche Erscheinung trat auch in Form von Streifen auf, die sich manchmal vom Centromer aus zu anliegenden Chromosomen erstreckten oder sich ins Cytoplasma ausbreiteten. Die mögliche Deutung dieser Beobachtung wurde besprochen.

Association of human satellited chromosomes

Résumé On présente ici les résultats de l'examen de trois cents cellules humaines métaphasées afin de démontrer que dans le karyotype humain, tous les acrocentriques ont une part active dans l'association des satellites. Les chromosomes acrocentriques homologues aussi bien que les chromosomes acrocentriques non-homologues laissent voir ce phénomène avec des fréquences relativement hautes.

Supernumerary chromosomes inDrosophila nasuta albomicana

Summary Supernumerary chromosomes have been detected in the karyotype ofD.n. albomicana. Their number varies from one to three. They are the smallest elements in the karyotype. Karyotypes ofD.n. albomicana with and without supernumerary chromosomes have been presented.
