Zusammenfassung In Gegenwart von Öl-(181), Linol-(182) oder Arachidonsäure (204) wurde eine konzentrationsabhängige, proportional zur Zahl der Doppelbindungen verlaufende Schwellung von Rattenleber Mitochondrien beobachtet. Die Fettsäure-Albumin Komplexe unterscheiden sich von den Natriumsalzen durch eine Lag-Phase vor Beginn der Schwellung gefolgt von einer stärkeren Schwellungsamplitude.

Riassunto Viene trattato mitocondri isolati di fegato di ratto con una soluzione acquosa di benzo(a)pyrene. I mitocondri cosi trattati appaiono rigonfi, hanno matrici chiare e notevole aumento degli spazi mannitolo-impermeabili. Queste modificazioni sono verosimilmente dovute all'azione del benzo(a)pyrene sulle molecole fosfolipidiche delle membrane motocondriali.     

Antigen-distribution in rat liver mitochondria

Riassunto I mitocondri di fegato di ratto possiedono almeno tre gruppi di antigeni, dei quali uno è esclusivamente legato alle membrane mitocondriali, uno è presente nella frazione solubile in 0,3% desossicolato di sodio ed un altro, che, sebbene principalmente localizzato nelle membrane, è anche dimostrabile nella frazione desossicolato solubile.     

Differential scanning calorimetry of rat liver mitochondria

Summary Differential scanning calorimetry was employed for studying rat liver mitochondria and extracted mitochondrial lipids. Endothermic transition in the range 15–40°C was detected for the whole mitochondria and between 10–20°C for the extracted lipids.Acknowledgment. Riassunto Mediante elettroforesi su carta si dimostra la presenza nei lisati di mitocondri di fegato di ratto di almeno 5 componenti proteici. Le colorazioni specifiche dimostrano la presenza di 3 frazioni lipoproteiche e di altrettante glicoproteiche. I lisati dei mitocondri vennero ottenuti qer trattamento delle particelle con Triton X-100.

The effects of 4 detergents on the respiration of mitochondria isolated from rat liver]

The effects of these four detergents (two non-ionic: Titron X100 and Tween 80, two ionic: sodium cholate and sodium dedeoxycholate) upon the respiratory intensities of mitochondria and upon the ADP/0 and respiratory control ratios were observed. At low concentrations and in the absence of exogenous ADP, non ionic as well as ionic detergents provoked a threefold (or fourfold) increase of the respiratory intensities of mitochondria. At higher concentrations, the four detergents were inhibitory for mitochondrial oxidations in the order: Triton X 100 greater than DOC greater than cholate greater than Tween 80. At increasing doses, the four detergents progressively decreased the phosphorylating capacities of mitochondria.     

The effect of Co Q10 on rat liver mitochondria succinoxidase activity in carbon tetrachloride liver injury

Riassunto È stato studiato il comportamento dell'attività succinossidasica dei mitocondri di fegato di ratto normale e intossicato con CCl₄ in presenza di CoQ₁₀. Si è notato che l'aggiunta di CoQ₁₀ in presenza di citocromo c ai mitocondri di fegato grasso stimula la respirazione, fatto che può essere interpretato come aumento di permeabilità della membrana mitocondriale.     

2-Halogeno-ethanols as an uncoupler of phosphorylation in rat liver mitochondria

Summary 2-Chloroethanol, 2-bromoethanol and 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol at a concentration of 0.79 vol.% stimulated state 4 respiration and released oligomycin inhibition of state 3 respiration. 2-Fluoroethanol and 1-propanol at the same concentration did not affect the respiration.     

Oxidation of cholesterol by rat liver mitochondria: Influence of deuterium oxide

Résumé L'oxydation du cholestérol-26-¹⁴C et de l'octanoate de sodium-1-¹⁴C par une préparation de mitochondries de foie de rat a été effectuée en milieu aqueux à un pH de 8,5 et dans l'eau lourde (D₂O) à un pH de 8,1 et 8,5. La présence d'eau lourde a inhibé l'oxydation des deux substrats. L'oxydation du cholestérol dans l'eau lourde à un pH de 8,5 a été réduite de 60% à 70% de la valeur normale et de plus de 90 % dans l'eau lourde à un pH de 8,1. Aux deux valeurs de pH, l'oxydation de l'octanoate a été réduite de 50% à 70%.     

Effect of acriflavin on the mitochondria of the rat

Resumen La administración de acriflavina provoca la aparición de un elevado número de mitocondrias con filamentos de ADN en el hígado, riñón y miocardio de la rata. Sobre la base de este hecho se sugiere que la acriflavina inhibe la reproducción del ADN mitocondrial, haciéndolo visible a nivel ultraestructural.     

Effect of albumin on uncoupling of oxidative phosphorylation by chinoform in rat liver mitochondria.

Addition of serum albumin diminished the uncoupling effect of chinoform on oxidative phosphorylation in rat liver mitochondria. Upon increasing the concentration of magnesium ions in the medium, the action of serum albumin was diminished. These results indicate that serum albumin combines with chinoform in competition with magnesium ions.
