6 groups each of 5 adult rams were subjected in light controlled pens to a pretreatment of normal variations in daylength during May and June. Then one group followed the normal daylength and the other five different "skeleton photoperiods" of 8 hrs of light per day consisting of: 7 hrs continuous light (7 L) + 1 hr light (1 L) situated at different times of the dark period (D) according to groups. Blood samples were taken once each week and hourly during one 24 hr period in June, July and September. Peripheral plasma testosterone measured by radio-immunoassay was used as an index of testicular activity. There was increase in the level of testosterone resuting from a rise in the number of peak release during the 24 hrs. In the different light treatments tested, only the treatment (7L+9D+1L)+7D) stimulated testosterone secretion with the pattern of testosterone of this group being similar to that of the control group. This indicates that there exists a photosensitive phase at 16 to 17 hrs after the beginning of the principal light (the subjective dawn).  相似文献

Using "skeleton" photoperiods with a primary photofraction of 3 hrs. 30 min. and secondary photofraction of 30 min. located at various intervals after the onset of darkness, the occurrence of a photoinducible phase in the androgenic function has been evidenced in the Ferret. This photo-inducible phase seems to be located around 12 hrs. after the onset of the primary photofraction, since the ferrets who received the 30 min. photofraction 8 hrs. after the onset of darkness responded with a maximal increase in plasma testosterone.  相似文献

Embryos from Rats given an injection of 0,5-1 mg of oestradiol benzoate on days 17--19 of pregnancy show a 3--4-fold reduction in their testicular testosterone content with respect to the control embryos, 24--48 hrs later. OEstradiol most likely acts by inhibiting LH secretion, which in turn results in a lowered testosterone production.  相似文献

The evolutions of serum LH and FSH concentrations and of testicular weight have been measured in the newborn Rat before, during and up to 24 hrs. after birth. A sudden and transient increase of LH and FSH is observed at birth. The testicular weight rises rapidly between 2 and 4 hrs.  相似文献

Summary The effect of different densities of animals per cage on basal testosterone secretion and its response to some stimuli was studied in prepuberal male mice. Mice housed with 110 or 55 cm2 of floor space per animal showed the same basal serum testosterone and hCG-induced testosterone release. Likewise, in a second experiment, the same basal serum testosterone and a similar response to acute noise stress were found in mice housed at 132, 66 or 22 cm2 of floor space per animal. These results suggest that post-weaning crowding did not affect Leydig cell function in male mice.  相似文献

In the newborn female Rat, no transient LH and FSH serum surges were observed between 0 and 2 hrs., as compared with the newborn male. In the newborn female, a progressive increase in serum gonadotropins was observed between 2 and 6 hrs. These results indicate that, at birth, the pituitary-gonadal axis reacts in a different way in male and female Rats.  相似文献

Short-term incubation of interstitial cells with progesterone or DHEA resulted in a rapid increase of testosterone secretion; this effect was even more pronounced in the presence of calf serum. On the other hand, addition of hCG (10 mIU) had no significant effect on testosterone release during the 30-min incubation. These results demonstrate that the magnitude of the steroidogenic response of short-term incubated interstitial cells is a complex function, mainly of precursor concentrations and binding capacities of serum proteins but not of gonadotrophins.  相似文献

After 3H testosterone injection into castrated males of the Lizard Lacerta vivipara, the radioactive compound is detected by radioautography of epididymis, femoral glands, gut and liver. Between 1 hr. 30 min. to 12 hrs. of retention the 3H material concentrates progressively into nuclei of the glandular cells of epididymis and femoral organs although no particular concentration occurs in gut and liver cells. Partial inhibition, by serum starvation, of multiplication of SV3T3 transformed fibroblasts was studied by cultivating cells in a medium containing 1% of serum. Two different and successive states are described: a first step, with a rate of multiplication for 24 hrs, which is lowered (2 instead of 3 in a normal medium containing 10% of serum) but which remains constant (i.e. exponential multiplication), the observed inhibition being reversed by normal medium; a second step, where the rate of multiplication for 24 hrs, decreases very fast, and which is not reversible.  相似文献

Rat serum at different concentrations added to cultured Rat heart cells medium increased spontaneous beating frequency of myoblasts. This increase occurred instantaneously and lasted more than 24 hrs. It was related to the serum concentration used. Electrophysiological recording showed a decrease in the iso-electric phase duration of membrane potential, with no change in action potential. In spite of the beating frequency increase, cells remained sensitive to the chronotrope positive action induced by Isoprenaline. There was no difference between male and female sera. The global results could partly be explained by the action of Ca++ in Rat serum.  相似文献

目的研究D-半乳糖所致亚急性衰老小鼠学习记忆能力和睾丸的变化,并观察延衰合剂对其的治疗作用。方法选昆明系雄性小鼠,用D-半乳糖建立亚急性衰老模型。应用Morris水迷宫实验测试衰老小鼠学习记忆能力的变化;电镜技术观察延衰合剂治疗后衰老小鼠睾丸的形态学改变;酶联免疫分析法检测血清睾酮的变化。结果衰老小鼠学习记忆能力下降,睾丸重量减少,生精细胞减少,结构紊乱,功能障碍,血清睾酮含量明显降低。在改变学习记忆能力上延衰合剂高剂量组作用明显优于延衰合剂低剂量纽(P〈0.05),但与补肾益寿胶囊纽及延衰舍剂中荆量组差畀无显著性(P〉0.05)。结论延衰舍剂可以提高衰老小鼠学习记忆能力,改善睾丸生精小管的超微结构,抑制衰老小鼠血清睾酮含量的下降,具有一定的延缓衰老作用。  相似文献

Summary The treatment of 62 patients with chlorpromazine was followed by a rise of SGO-T in the serum in 20% of them. Six other patients were treated with a daily dose of 200 to 400 mg Methylthiouracil for 14 days. No elevation of serum transaminases was observed. The application of a daily dose of 30 mg methyl testosterone to 40 other patients was followed by a rise of SGO-T and SGP-T in 77% of them. The maximal elevation of SGO-T was 275 U. and of SGP-T 260 U., and this was reached during 10 days of therapy on an average. This effect is bound to the methyl group of methyl testosterone, since in 10 patients, treated with the same dose of testosterone propionate, the serum transaminases activity were not influenced.  相似文献

Crude extracts from the human glomerular basement membranes solubilized by pepsin or bacterial collagenase agglutinate normal or transformed human cells. Cytoagglutination is inhibited by N-acetyl-osamines. These properties are reminiscent of lectins. When agglutinated cells are incubated for an additional 20 hrs. period in minimal serum free medium but in presence of these basement membrane extracts, they attach to the glass and spread out.  相似文献

Summary Psychological stress, as measured by the parameters of trait anxiety, hostility, and depression, was compared in the group of males age 30–55 with serum levels of testosterone. Those males who were classified as high psychological stress had significantly lower testosterone levels than did their low stress counterparts. However, comparison of their serum cortisol values revealed similar concentrations in both groups.  相似文献

Summary Chronic administration of potassium canrenoate (SC-14266), a water-soluble anti-aldosterone agent, increased serum LH levels in male rats without altering serum levels of FSH, prolactin, testosterone and progesterone. CBA Mice were immunized by two intraperitoneal injections of 30 X 10(6) DBA/2 or C57BL/6 spleen cells at days--12 and--2. Peritoneal cell population was obtained at day zero by washing the peritoneal cavity of Mice. Adherent cells were then separated using a 2 hrs. incubation in "Falcon" plates followed by washing. This macrophage-rich peritoneal cell population was found nonspecifically cytotoxic against 51Cr labeled tumoral target cells: P815 X DBA/2 mastocytoma cells, EL4 X C57BL/L lymphoma cells and spontaneous lymphoma AKR cells (same H--2k as CBA). This adherent peritoneal cell cytoxicity was demonstrated after 24 hrs. incubation with the target cells. It was found in nonspecific combination as well as when using target cells syngeneic to the donor. These findings suggest that adherent peritoneal cell cytotoxicity could be at least partly due to macrophages and result from factor (s) released by sensitized lymphocytes in vivo in the same way as has been previously demonstrated in vitro.  相似文献

Washed peritoneal exudate cells from normal Rats firmly adhere to Trichinella spiralis larvae in the presence of serum containing anti-Trichinella antibodies. This effect is observed when muscle larvae, cells and dilutions of anti-sera are incubated for 1 hr. at 37 degrees C. No adherence takes place at 4 degrees C. Whole serum or its gammaglobulin fraction are active and effect is inhibited by the addition of Trichinella antigens. Complement is not essential since antiserum heated for 2 hrs. at 56 degrees C is active. Washed cells from infested animals do not adhere to the larvae in the absence of antiserum.  相似文献

A prostaglandin-like activity, as evaluated by a bio-assay using the fundus of Rat stomach, has been demonstrated in supernatants of lymphocyte cultures. This activity undergoes a striking increase in supernatants of mixed cultures of allograft donor and recipient cells, when compared with control supernatants of donor or recipient cells cultured alone. This phenomenon is observed after 24 hrs. of culture. It disappears if the supernatant is dialyzed. Little or no increase in prostaglandin-like activity is found in supernatants of primary mixed lymphocyte cultures (without previous allograft), at lest in the first two days of culture.  相似文献

High testosterone concentrations were found in the plasma of male fetus at the stage of sexual differentiation. Then the fetal testis is the principal source of circulating testosterone; its action on the Wolffian duct would occur by the systemic pathway.
