Zusammenfassung Membran-Potentiale vom Ductus arteriosus der Ziege wurden im ruhenden Zustand aufgezeichnet. Die Zellen depolarisieren, sobald sie mit einer Kontraktion auslösenden Konzentration Sauerstoff in Berührung kommen.     

Different action of atropine and some analogues on the end-plate potentials and induced acetylcholine potentials

Zusammenfassung Mittels intrazellulärer Mikroelektroden wurde der Einfluss von 7 Tropinestern auf Amplitude und Umkehrpunkt (E _r ) der Endplattenpotentiale am M. sartorius des Frosches untersucht. Alle Substanzen erniedrigen die Amplitude und verändern die Form der Endplattenpotentiale, während 3 von ihnen den Umkehrpunkt (E _r ) in der Richtung zum Na-Gleichgewicht verschieben.

Riassunto Nel sonno desincronizzato si osserva una depressione fasica delle risposte cerebellari evocate dalla stimolazione di nervi dell'arto posteriore. Questa depressione ipnica della risposta spinale cerebellare è completa durante i REM, ma si manifesta, sia pure parzialmente, durante i movimenti oculari isolati che compaiono negli Intervalli tra i tipici REM.

In vitro evaluation of cutaneous potentials in the triton, Pleurodeles waltlii Michah., by measuring transepithelial potentials]

Surface potentials previously measured in vivo have been approximately evaluated in vitro by means of an experimental device allowing a simultaneous record of transepithelial potential differences in 2 areas of the same skin piece cut out along the proximo-distal direction of the anterior limb of Pleurodeles waltlii. These potentials are thus explained by unequal transepithelial potential differences in the proximal and distal areas of the same skin sample.     

Reduction of the quantum content of endplate potentials by atropine

Zusammenfassung Postsynaptische Potentiale der Muskelfasern (EPP) des isolierten Rattenzwerchfells wurden intrazellulär abgeleitet. Die statistische Analyse zeigt, dass der Mengenanteil von EPP bei Anwesenheit von Atropin vermindert ist und zwar simultan mit der postsynaptischen Blockade. Die Erholung des presynaptischen Effektes ist viel langsamer als diejenige des postsynaptischen.

Origin of the differences of superficial potentials in Rana esculenta]

The spatial distributions of superficial D.C. potentials on the skin of Rana esculenta have been compared to those of the intensity of short-circuit current (S.C.C.) expressing the transcutaneous active transport of sodium ions. It has been observed that the sites of maximum D.C. potentials coincide with the localisations of maximum S.C.C. values. Moreover, superficial D.C. potentials and S.C.C. are similarly modified by the depression of metabolic activity due to lowered temperature or poisoning by dinitrophenol (DNP). It is thus proposed that the spatial distribution of the transcutaneous active transport system for sodium ions is the origin of the electric generator of superficial D.C. potentials.

Zusammenfassung Es werden Aktionspotentiale vom Meerschweinchenvorhof in Badelösungen verschiedener Na-Konzentrationen mittels intrazellulärer Elektroden registriert. Während das Aktionspotential desVentrikels relativ unempfindlich gegen Veränderungen der Na-Konzentration bleibt^{4, 6}, lässt sich die «Na-Hypothese» für denVorhof anwenden.

Ureteral pacemaker potentials recorded with the sucrose gap technique.

Ureteral contractions occur at intervals which are integral multiples of the period of pacemaker potentials recorded in vitro from the renal pelvis with a sucrose gap, suggesting that a gating mechanism in the pyeloureter regulates the rate at which the pacemaker initiates contractions.     

Effects of caffeine on the contractility and membrane potentials of rat atrium

Zusammenfassung Der Einfluss von Coffein auf Kontraktion und Membranpotential des Atriums der Ratte ergibt: Verkürzung der Dauer des Aktionspotentials und Beschleunigung der Geschwindigkeit von Repolarisation und Depolarisation. Ein möglicher Zusammenhang dieser Änderungen mit der erhöhten Kontraktilität wird diskutiert.

Action potentials in non-tumor cells from the anterior pituitary gland

Non-tumor cells of rat anterior pituitary gland are able, upon electrical stimulation, to generate action potentials which are based on an increase of the membrane permeability to both Na+ and Ca2+.
