President Chen Yiyu Met with Omi

On April 24, 2008, Prof. Chen Yiyu, NSFC President, met with the delegation headed by Mr. Kouji OMI, Member of the Japanese Lower House of Representatives at Beijing Hotel. Mr. Omi briefed the 5th Science and Technology in Society Forum to be held in Kyoto in October 2008 and formally invited Prof. Chen to attend the Forum. Prof. Chen expressed his interests to the Forum and had a discussion on the topics of the Forum.     

NSFC President Chen Yiyu Met with RFBR President

NSFC President Prof. Chen Yiyu met with President of Russian Foundation for Basic Research （RF- BR）, Prof. Vladislav Ya. Panchinko and Prof. Vladimir Kovalev, Director of Department of International Relations of RFBR on November 22, 2008. Both leaders briefed the latest developments of respective organization and discussed the issues of science fund management, strategies and priorities of disciplines, etc. , and expressed satisfactory regarding the friendly and fruitful cooperative relations that have been established between NSFC and RFBR since long. Consensus was reached to further explore possibilities to foster collaborations between young scientists by holding joint workshops on specific topics with common interest.     

President Chen Yiyu Met with Russian Delegation

On Jan.8,2007,NSFC President Chen Yiyu met with a Russian delegation headed by Academician Michail I.Kuzmin, Director of Irkutsk Science Center,Siberian Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences. Academician Kuzmin first conveyed the best wishes to leaders of NSFC from President of Russian Academy of Sciences and Russian Foundation for Basic Research.Then the two sides briefed respectively on the research on Lake Baikal and the Russia-China joint research expedition in 2005 and 2006, as well as the joint research in the future.

President Chen Yiyu Met with Mexican Governmental Technological Delegation

On August 18, Prof. Chen Yiyu, President of NSFC met with the seven-member Mexican governmental techno-logical delegation headed by Mr. Jaime Parada Avila, President of the National Council for Science and Technology of Mexico. President Chen briefed the Mexican side with information about NSFC‘s general functions, organizational structure, funding of projects, review and evaluation procedures and international cooperation.

NSFC President Chen Yiyu met with President Vladislav Ya.Panchenko,RFBR(Russia Foundation for Basic Research) on June 2,2011.The two sides expressed mutual satisfaction with the bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on how to further promote substantial collaboration.Discussions were also carried out in jointly support research in areas of climate change and material science. On August 9, 2008, Professor Chen Yiyu, President of NSFC, met with the delegation headed by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chari Sirindhorn of Thailand. Since her first visit to China in 1981, Princess Maha Chari Sirindhorn has visited China for more than 20 times. As an envoy of her father, the king of Thailand, she came to Beijing this time to attend the opening ceremony of the 29th Olympic Games.

NSFC President Chen Yiyu met with Dr.Arden L.Bement,former NSF Director on April 27,2011. Prof.Chen extended his welcome to Dr.Bement and expressed his appreciation to Dr Bement's positive contributions to China-US collaboration in basic research.He also introduced NSFC's recent development.
