Zusammenfassung Die intramuskuläre Injektion von metallischem Tellur an trächtige Ratten am 9. oder 10. Tag der Gestation führte bei den Jungtieren zu Hydrocephalie. Bei Verabfolgung des Metalls vor oder nach dieser Periode der Embryonalentwicklung konnte die Missbildung nicht beobachtet werden. Das Auftreten der Hydrocephalie nach Verabfolgung von Tellur korreliert somit mit der «empfindlichen Phase» der ZNS-Entwicklung bei der Ratte.  相似文献

Summary The localization of mutarotase in rat kidney was investigated by fluorescein-labelled and peroxidase-labelled antibody techniques, and by method of isolation of the nuclei and cytoplasm in non-aqueous solvents. In these immunohistochemical studies, mutarotase was almost exclusively recognized in the nuclei of epithelial cells of renal tubules and glomeruli in rat. The specific activity of mutarotase was found to be 1.5 times higher in the nuclei (122 units/g dry wt) than that in the cytoplasm (80 units/g dry wt) isolated with non-aqueous solvents. These results suggest that mutarotase may be involved in the metabolism of D-glucose in nuclei.Acknowledgment. The authors thank Prof. Y. Summary In the dog and guinea-pig submandibular glands kallikrein seems to be present in the striated duct cells. Following sympathetic nerve and in vivo isoproterenol stimulation of the dog and guinea-pig submandibular gland respectively, there is a reduction of kallikrein concentration. Ultrastructurally this reduction corresponds to the decrease of straited duct secretory granules in both species. Parasympathetic stimulation also causes some release of kallikrein from both species.Supported by Dean's M.R.C. grant to the College of Dentistry.  相似文献

Summary The localization of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) in the optic lobe in the developing chick embryo was studied histochemically and biochemically. The histochemical reaction of AChE increased remarkably between stage 42 and 44 especially in the neuropile. The increase of the biochemical activity of the AChE in the synaptic membrane fraction occurred at a later stage than that in the microsomal fraction. These findings can be interpreted as the result of axonal transport of the enzyme from the synthetic to the synaptic site.Acknowledgments. Summary Experimental hydrocephalus has been induced in lambs by artificial increase of the amplitude of intraventricular cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) oscillations related to arterial pulsations, without concominant changes of the mean CSF-pressure. The characteristics of this hydrocephalus demonstrate that the intraventricular CSF-pulsations can play a role in the genesis of ventricular dilatation. Such a method may be used to produce an original model of hydrocephalus independent of changes of CSF-circulation or absorption.This work was supported by grant of CNR.  相似文献

Summary The subcommissural organ (SCO) of the congenital hydrocephalus spontaneously occurring in CWS/Idr rats was severely reduced in size and displaced at some distance from the anterior end of the cerebral aqueduct.
