Applications of optimal mathematic-physical models in metallurgical manufacture scheduling system at Baosteel

The transfer of mass flow between ironmaking and steelmaking process at Baoshan Iron and Steel Co. Ltd. has been analyzed. The mathematic-physical models of transport scheduling for hot metal manufacturing have been researched combined with the practical problem in the metallurgical manufacture procedure. Taking into account these models, the scheduling software has been designed, programmed and tested on-line. The new automation system of production scheduling has been implemented successfully at Baosteel, which produces a great economic benefit.     

A novel bit-error indicating scheme using only one judge threshold

A novel all-optical bit-error indicating scheme based on self-phase modulation and band-pass filtering is proposed. In this scheme, the amplified original bit stream propagates through a high-nonlinear fiber where self-phase modulation occurs, and then passes through a band-pass filter to be converted to a bit-error indicating signal. In the bit-error indicating signal, the error bit has the highest peak power, and the ＂1＂ and ＂0＂ bits have lower ones. At the same time, the bit-error indicating signal is synchronous with the delayed original bit stream. Therefore, the position of the error bit in the original bit stream can be identified by setting only one judge threshold in the bit error indicating signal. The performance of this scheme has been demonstrated for an 80 Gb/s bit-stream with return-to-zero format by simulation. The results show that the proposed scheme can be used for the all-optical bit-error indicating of the super high bit-rate systems with the return-to-zero format.     

Using an Improved Clustering Method to Detect Anomaly Activities

In this paper, an improved k-means based clustering method （IKCM） is proposed. By refining the initial cluster centers and adjusting the number of clusters by splitting and merging procedures, it can avoid the algorithm resulting in the situation of locally optimal solution and reduce the number of clusters dependency. The IKCM has been implemented and tested. We perform experiments on KDD-99 data set. The comparison experiments with H-means＋also have been conducted. The results obtained in this study are very encouraging.     

Real applications of quantum communications in China

The first metropolitan quantum cryptography network for government administration, which is named ＂Q- Government＂, has recently been field tested in Wuhu, Anhui Province by researchers of Key Laboratory of Quantum Information （CAS） . Based on quantum cryptography, the network can guarantee the unconditional security for information transmission in an open channel.     

Preparation of porous nanocrystalline TiO2 electrode by screen-printing technique

Different paste has been used for preparing porous TiO2 thin film by screen-printing technique, the main component of it comes from commercial TiO2 P25 power. The dye-sensitized solar cell based on this TiO2 thin film without further chemical treatments exhibits high overall conversion efficiency of 5.81%―6.70%, even with low TiO2 content and thin film thickness. The experimental repeatability is nice and the properties of the films are uniform.     

Damping Properties of Piezoelectric and Electrical Conductive of BaTiO3/VGCF/CPE Composites: Effect of Carbon Fiber

A new damping composite of CPE/BaTiO3/VGCF has been developed on the basis of the piezo-effect and conductivity mechanism. The conductivity of composites varied with the VGCF content are tested and analyzed. The results indicate that the conductivity of composites grows up slowly as the VGCF content is in the range of 10%-20%. It is very useful for industrial application to control the conductivity of composites by adjusting the VGCF content. In addition, at the range of - 50 - 1201, the dependence of loss factor on the VGCF content varied with the temperature are tested and analyzed by dynamic mechanical and dielectric behavior measurement of the composites, and expected results are obtained.     

Functionally Gradient Material Made by Incremental Melting and Solidification Process

A new technique IMS (Incremental Melting and Solidification Process) has been introduced. A kind of cast steel high Mn foundry alloy gradient material was produced by this process. The microstructure and mechanical properties of the alloy were tested. Fe and Mn in the samples were measured by EPMA. The experimental results show that the content and hardness of Fe-Mn alloy vary continuously and the IMS process is an alternative way in producing metal matrix gradient material. It is possible for these materials to be made into some parts such as camshaft.     

Cloning, sequencing and expression of a swine IgG H chain gene inE. coli

A DNA fragment about 1.5 kb has been isolated from spleen of adult Chinese swine by RT-PCR. The DNA fragment encodes immunoglobulin IgG H chain gene. Sequencing analysis showed that the DNA fragment is 1 425 bp long, complete CDS. The C region of the gene has been classified as Subclass Ig γ3, and is the same as reported by Sun et al., but V region of the present gene is 42 bp less by comparison. The gene has been ligated into expression vector pET-3b (NSEB)( - ). A protein about 52 ku has been expressed in E. coli with an expression level of about 21 % .     

Study on Bending of Woven Fabrics Using Linear Viscoelasticity Theory

The bending behavior of woven fabrics under low curva-ture conditions has been analyzed by linear viscoelastictheory.The fabric is assumed to behave viscoelasticallyand to be subjected to frictional restraints in bending de-formation.The frictional restraint is considered to beproportional to the curvature and can be described by africtional moment.A model has been constructed by astandard three-element solid model and a paralleledfrictional sliding element.The equations of the model fora cyclic curvature variation are derived.A set of param-eters of the equations for each fabric has been obtainedexperimentally.Predictions of the bending rigidity andhysteresis for wool,cashmere,wool/polyester blended,polyester and cotton fabrics are made,displaying verygood agreement with the experimental observations.     

Research on the variable speed system of large power alternating current motor

The development status of the variable speed system of large power AC(alternating current)motor drive in China is introduced.The large power AC drive fed by AC-AC converters(cycloconverters)has developed greatly,and some innovations on the theory and engineering technique have been realized.They have been applied to rolling mills,mine hoists,and so on,and remarkable economic and social benefit has been achieved.The development of AC drive fed by large power IGCT(integrated gate commutated thyristors)AC-DC-AC converter is also introduced.It has excellent performance and reliable operation,and has been used in traction.     

Markedness and its Interpretation in Language Use

Language markedness is a common phenomenon in languages, and is reflected from hearing, vision and sense, i.e. the variation in the three aspects such as phonology, morphology and semantics. This paper focuses on the interpretation of markedness in language use following the three perspectives, i.e. pragmatic interpretation, psychological interpretation and cognitive interpretation, with an aim to define the function of markedness.

Language is a means of verbal communication. People use language to communicate with each other. In the society, no two speakers are exactly alike in the way of speaking. Some differences are due to age, gender, statue and personality. Above all, gender is one of the obvious reasons. The writer of this paper tries to describe the features of women＇s language from these perspectives： pronunciation, intonation, diction, subjects, grammar and discourse. From the discussion of the features of women＇s language, more attention should be paid to language use in social context. What＇s more, the linguistic phenomena in a speaking community can be understood more thoroughly.     

低渗透非均质砂岩油藏启动压力梯度研究

理论推导与室内实验相结合,建立了低渗透非均质砂岩油藏启动压力梯度确定方法。首先借助油藏流场与电场相似的原理,推导了非均质砂岩油藏启动压力梯度计算公式。其次基于稳定流实验方法,建立了非均质砂岩油藏启动压力梯度测试方法。结果表明:低渗透非均质砂岩油藏的启动压力梯度确定遵循两个等效原则。平面非均质油藏的启动压力梯度等于各级渗透率段的启动压力梯度关于长度的加权平均;纵向非均质油藏的启动压力梯度等于各渗透率层的启动压力梯度关于渗透率与渗流面积乘积的加权平均。研究成果可用于有效指导低渗透非均质砂岩油藏的合理井距确定,促进该类油藏的高效开发。
