Summary The average capillary blood flow in the testes was found to be 181 l/min/g testis tissue (n=19) in rats starved for 5 days and 273 l/min/g (n=18, p<0.01) in the control group. Plasma testosterone was significantly decreased in the starved animals (1.00±0.06 ng/ml vs 5.43±0.63 ng/ml). When starved and control rats were stimulated with human chorion gonadotropin, testosterone values in plasma were greatly increased in both groups. The capillary blood flow was not altered. The data indicate that human chorion gonadotropin can stimulate testosterone production in the starved rat without influencing the reduced capillary blood flow.  相似文献

Summary Based on the observations made on human and dog red blood cells, it was recently proposed that the response of red cell glycolysis to variations in the levels of specific cations is an evolutionary adaptation in response to a specific cellular environment. We have now examined the effect of K+ and Na+ on the activity of pyruvate kinase (PK) in the red blood cells from 2 genetically different types of sheep high potassium (HK) and low potassium (LK). The results indicate that K+ stimulate glucose consumption and the activity of PK in both types of sheep. Zusammenfassung Der Eingangswiderstand verschiedener Arterien wurde im Niederfrequenzbereich (0,0005 bis 0,25 Hz) mittels sinusförmig modulierter Pumpen-Perfusion mit arteriellem Blut an narkotisierten Hunden gemessen. Die Resultate lassen die Existenz zweier reziprok wirkender Autoregulationsmechanismen vermuten, deren Frequenzcharakteristik mit Hilfe eines einfachen linearen Modells simuliert werden konnte.

Zusammenfassung Vasoaktive Substanzen im arteriellen Blut können charakteristische Reaktionen des lokalen Strömungswiderstandes hervorrufen. Die einfachsten Beispiele dieser humoralen Autoregulation können durch intraarterielle Infusion von Acetylcholin (Autoregulation der Strömung) oder Noradrenalin (Autoregulation des Drucks) demonstriert werden. Es wird angenommen, dass der humoralen Autoregulation Bedeutung bei der normalen und pathologischen Kreislaufregulation zukommt.

Zusammenfassung In vivo-Untersuchungen der Tumordurchblutung an Implantationstumoren eines DS-Carcinosarkoms in der Rattenniere zeigen eine deutliche Abhängigkeit der Durchblutungsgrösse vom Tumorgewicht. Bei Variation des arteriellen Mitteldrucks zwischen 40 und 135 mm Hg steigt die Durchblutung der einzelnen Tumoren linear mit zunehmendem Perfusionsdruck an. Eine zunehmende Rarefizierung der terminalen Strombahn mit ansteigendem Tumorgewicht wird belegt durch eine starke Zunahme des Strömungswiderstandes, der schon bei sehr jungen Tumoren wesentlich höhere Werte als bei verschiedenen Organen aufweist.

Levels of glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase were measured in the red blood cells of glutathione(GSH)-normal and GSH-deficient sheep. There were no significant differences in any of the 3 enzyme activities measured in the 2 groups of sheep. Also, there was no relationship between GSH level and the enzyme activity. These results suggest that inspite of large differences in GSH levels, the red blood cells from GSH-normal and GSH-deficient Merino sheep appear to have similar response to oxidative stress against which GSH is credited to play a major role.  相似文献

Résumé Les observations faites sur le porc de Yorkshire montrent que certaines perturbations du flot sanguin normal se manifestent dans une zone prédisposée au developpement de lésions athéromateuses et sont accompagnées de pertes de substances endothéliales. Cette destruction des cellules endothéliales permettrait au plasma riche en lipoprotéines de pénétrer librement dans la paroi artérielle, ce qui favorise l'athérogénese.

Specialized blood cells of many tunicates accumulate high concentrations of vanadium and phenolic peptide pigments called tunichromes (TC). In order to determine whether V and TC reside in the same cells, Ascidia nigra and Ascidia ceratodes blood cell subpopulations were isolated by fluorescence-activated cell sorting (flow cytometry) and chemically analyzed. V was found in the spherical, green/grey signet ring cells, and to a lesser degree in the mulberry-shaped, yellow/green morula cells (MRs), whereas free TC was detected mainly in MRs.  相似文献
