Sulfhydryl groups and succinic dehydrogenase in rat kidney after administration of mercurial diuretics

Zusammenfassung Es wurde das histochemische Vorkommen und die Verbreitung der Sulfhydrylgruppen sowie die Aktivität der Bernsteinsäuredehydrogenase in den Nieren von Ratten nach Administration von Novurit bestimmt. Die Sulfhydrylgruppen zeigten keine Veränderungen, die Aktivität der Bernsteinsäuredehydrogenase wurde jedoch herabgesetzt, besonders in den Zellen der Henleschen Schleifen.

Zusammenfassung Die Ultrastruktur der Rattenschilddrüse wird bis zu 8 Tagen in Organkulturen erhalten, was für radioautografische Studien der Ultrastruktur vorteilhaft ist.     

Acetylcholinesterase,acid phosphatase,and succinic dehydrogenase in the hypothalamic magnocellular nuclei after chlorpromazine administration

Zusammenfassung Der Einfluss des Chlorpromazins auf die Acetylcholinesterase, saure Phosphatase- und Bernsteinsäuredehydrogenaseaktivität des Nucleus supraopticus und Nucleus paraventricularis wurde histochemisch untersucht. Es wurde festgestellt, dass Chlorpromazin bei sämtlichen Enzymen eine mässige Herabsetzung der Aktivität bewirkt. Die Vermutung wird ausgesprochen, dass mit der Sedativwirkung des Chlorpromazins eine Verminderung der Enzymaktivität verknüpft ist.

Zusammenfassung Es wurde histochemisch festgestellt, dass Serotonin eine mässige Steigerung der Acetylcholinesterase- und sauren Phosphataseaktivität des Nucleus supraopticus und Nucleus paraventricularis bewirkt. Es wird an eine Aktivierung des N. supraopticus und N. paraventricularis durch Serotonin gedacht.

Further contribution to the effect of diazoxide on the thyroid gland in rats

Zusammenfassung Mit der⁸⁶Rb-Methode wird nach i.v. Applikation von 5 mg Diazoxid die Schilddrüsendurchblutung bei der Ratte untersucht: Eine Verminderung der Durchblutung erreicht nach 30 min 65% der Ausgangswerte, wodurch die früher festgestellte diazoxidinduzierte Hemmung der Radiojodspeicherung erklärt werden kann.     

The effect of ligand on the kinetics of the sulfhydryl groups of human hemoglobin with p-mercuribenzoate

The rate of reaction of PMB with the masked sulfhydryls of human hemoglobin derivatives correlates well with the extent of dissociation for various ligands. It is suggested that the alpha1beta2 dimer of hemoglobin participates in the slow step of the reaction with PMB.     

Effect of adrenalectomy and dexamethasone treatment on the monoamine oxidase activity in the thyroid gland of the rat

Summary Adrenalectomy increased MAO activity in the thyroid gland of rats. The administration (200 g/100 g daily for 7 days) to adrenalectomized rats decreased MAO activity below levels of intact controls.     

Plasma fibrinogen response in the rat after thyroid stimulating hormone therapy

Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) increased the levels of plasma fibrinogen in the presence or absence of the thyroid gland. This finding suggests that this hormone produces an elevation of fibrinogen in rats by an extrathyroideal mechanism.     

The effect of ferrimyoglobin on the oxidation of succinic acid by horse heart muscle preparations

Riassunto L'autore ha studiato l'azione della metamioglobina sul sistema succinossidasico. È stata riscontrata una netta inibizione che sembra essere specifica per la succinodeidrogenasi. Tale inibizione non è influenzata dall'aggiunta di bleu di metilene ma invece completamente rimossa dal KCN in presenza di bleu di metilene. L'inibizione provocata dalla metamioglobina sulla succinossidasi aumenta nel tempo.

The effect of ligand on the kinetics of the reaction of the sulfhydryl groups of human hemoglobin with p-mercuribenzoate

Summary The rate of reaction of PMB with the masked sulfhydryls of human hemoglobin derivatives correlates well with the extent of dissociation for various ligands. It is suggested that the ₁₂ dimer of hemoglobin participates in the slow step of the reaction with PMB.     

Effect of thyroid hormone on somatomedin-C release from perfused rat liver

The effect of thyroid hormone on plasma somatomedin-C (SmC) level and on SmC release from perfused rat liver was investigated. Plasma SmC levels and liver tissue SmC were significantly increased in thyroxine-treated rats. Physiological doses of triiodothyronine increased SmC release and SmC concentration in the perfused rat liver. These results indicate that thyroid hormone directly enhances the synthesis and release of SmC in the rat.
