Diuretic effects of intraventricularly injected noradrenaline and dopamine in rats

Résumé Chez les rats on a observé l'augmentation de la diurèse provoquée par l'injection de la dopamine et de la noradrénaline dans les ventricules latéraux du cerveau. La pimozide, administré dans le péritoine, inhibe l'action de la dopamine. L'action diurétique de la noradrénaline est enrayée après injection intraventriculaire de phentolamine.     

Opposite effects of vasotocin injected intrapituitarly and intraventricularly on corticotropin release in mice.

A single injection of 10 pg synthetic arginine vasotocin into the pituitary significantly potentiated adrenal hypertrophy produced in male mice by unilateral adrenalectomy, whereas the same concentration injected into the 3rd ventricle produced adrenal atrophy.     

Long-term depressor effects of noradrenaline and dopamine neurons transplanted into the third ventricle of the brain of salt-loaded hypertensive rats

Neural tissues including A 6 group noradrenaline neurons in the locus ceruleus or A 10 group dopamine neurons in the substantia nigra were transplanted into the third ventricle at the preoptic-anterior hypothalamic level of rats made hypertensive by salt loading. Either transplant exerted a long-lasting depressor effect.

The influence of ambient temperature on thermoregulatory responses to intraventricularly injected monoamines in sheep,goats and rabbits

Zusammenfassung Zur Erklärung der Effekte auf die Thermoregulation in Schafen, Ziegen und Kaninchen bei verschiedenen Umwelttemperaturen von intraventrikulären Injektionen von Noradrenalin (NA) und 5-Hydroxytryptamin (5-HT) wurde ein einfaches Neuronenmodell vorgeschlagen. Diese Monoamine entfalten nicht in allen Situationen eine reziproke Wirkung. 5-HT führt zu einem Anstieg des Wärmeverlustes und einer Hemmung der Wärmebildung. NA hemmt sowohl Wärmeverlust wie auch Wärmebildung 19.     

The occurrence of dopamine and noradrenaline in the tubero-hypophysial system

Zusammenfassung Mit chemischer Methode wurden bei grösseren Tierarten die Mengen von Dopamin und Noradrenalin im Eminentia-mediana-Infundibulum-Gebiet, im mediobasalen Hypothalamus und im Endteil des Hypothalamus bei Mensch, Schwein und Rind genau bestimmt. Die höchste Konzentration von Dopamin wurde in Eminentia mediana und die höchste Konzentration von Noradrenalin im mediobasalen Hypothalamus gefunden.

Central effects of 5-hydroxytryptamine and noradrenaline on body temperature and oxygen consumption in infant rats

Zusammenfassung Injektionen von 5-Hydroxytryptamin und Noradrenalin in die Gehirnventrikel junger Ratten verursachen einen verminderten Sauerstoffverbrauch und eine Hypothermie bereits am ersten Tag nach der Geburt Effekte, die mit dem Alter verstärkt, auftreten.     

Insect venoms: Identification of dopamine and noradrenaline in wasp and bee stings

Zusammenfassung Die Anwesenheit von Dopamin und Noradrenalin im Bienen- und Wespengift wurde durch Fluoreszenzmikroskopie, Dünnschichtchromatographie und Spectrophotofluorimetrie nachgewiesen. Der Dopamin-Gehalt eines Stiches genügt, um die Herztätigkeit eines Insekts zu beschleunigen, was auch die Verteilung der giftigen Bestandteile zu den Wirkungsstellen beeinflussen kann.

Selective depletion of spinal noradrenaline inhibits post-decapitation convulsions in rats

Summary Local administration of 6-hydroxydopamine in the subarachnoidal space of the spinal cord in rats resulted in a selective long-lasting depletion of spinal noradrenaline, but not of dopamine, and prevented the occurrence of postdecapitation convulsions.     

Octopamine,dopamine and noradrenaline content of the brain of the locust,Schistocerca gregaria

Summary The octopamine, dopamine and noradrenaline content of the brain of the locust,Schistocerca gregaria has been determined using sensitive radiochemical-enzymatic assays. Octopamine and dopamine are present in high concentration but the noradrenaline content is only 1/25 that of octopamine. Both reserpine and fusaric acid (a dopamine--hydroxylase inhibitor) produce a significant depletion of the octopamine stores.The author is a M.R.C. of Canada Fellow. Thanks are due to Drs.A. A. Locomotor activity and regional brain noradrenaline levels in rats treated with prenylamine

Resumen Ratas inyectadas con diferentes dosis de prenylamina (gluconato) presentaron una marcada disminución de la actividad motora espontánea y de los niveles de noradrenalina en el hipotálamo, tálamo y corteza cerebral, pero no en el tegmento del mesencéfalo. Se detectó una estrecha relación entre la caída de la concentración de NA hipotalámica y la disminución de la actividad espontanea con las diferentes dosis de prenylamina empleadas.
