Tali cellule, cui viene attualmente attribuita la funzione di produrre calcitonina, reagiscono ad una elevazione del contenuto in calcio del terreno di coltura, con modificazioni istochimiche (perdita della argirofilia e metacromasia) e ultra-strutturali (diminuzione fino a scomparsa dei granuli di secrezione). When the canine thyroid gland was stained by immunofluorescence and immunoperoxidase methods using undiluted thyroglobulin antiserum, a considerably stronger immunoreactivity was revealed in the parafollicular cells than in the colloid droplets and follicular cells. After induced hypercalcemia and antithyroid drug treatment, the immunoreactivity of the parafollicular cells coinciding with the movement of secretory granules containing calcitonin was conspicuously decreased. An application of diluted serum (above 1:10) produced a strong reaction in the colloid. 相似文献

Summary Radiolabeled vitamin D3 was converted into several polar metabolites upon incubation with tissue homogenates from the common musselMytilus edulis. Chromatographic analysis indicated that the metabolites have chromatographic mobilities different from those of known standards. The results suggest that vitamin D3 is metabolized in mussels via pathways that differ from the vertebrate systems.Acknowledgments. The authors thank Dr Pirjo Rantamäki for the mussels and F. Anandamide is a lipid messenger that carries out a wide variety of biological functions. It has been suggested that anandamide
accumulation involves binding to a saturable cellular component. To identify the structure(s) involved in this process, we
analyzed the intracellular distribution of both biotinylated and radiolabeled anandamide, providing direct evidence that lipid
droplets, also known as adiposomes, constitute a dynamic reservoir for the sequestration of anandamide. In addition, confocal
microscopy and biochemical studies revealed that the anandamide-hydrolase is also spatially associated with lipid droplets,
and that cells with a larger adiposome compartment have an enhanced catabolism of anandamide. Overall, these findings suggest
that adiposomes may have a critical role in accumulating anandamide, possibly by connecting plasma membrane to internal organelles
along the metabolic route of this endocannabinoid.
