Summary L-lysine administration to male weanling rats at a dose of 110.4 mg (25% LD50) per 100 g body weight per day for 15 days reduced the liver total ascorbic acid level. The biosynthesis as well as the degradation of L-ascorbic acid was diminished under these conditions. The fall in liver total ascorbic acid level after L-lysine administration was ascribed to its reduced synthesis.Acknowledgment. Résumé L'administration prolongée d'acide acétylsalicylique à de jeunes rats (0.3 mg/g) a provoqué des augmentations temporaires d'acide palmitique dans les phospholipides du cerveau et du foie. Des augmentations temporaires d'acide stéarique et des diminutions d'acide arachidonique ont été aussi observées dans les phospholipides du foie. Les changements observés dans les phospholipides du foie permettent de supposer que l'acide acétylsalicylique affecte peut-être les enzymes désaturisant les acides gras.

Summary Plasma cholesterol concentrations were reduced in 3 human volunteers during ingestion of diets containing alfalfa seeds (AS) for 3 weeks. No signs of toxicity were detected through serum determinations of multiple parameters. The ingestion of AS in rats decreased the concentration of plasma cholesterol, reduced intestinal absorption of exogenous and endogenous cholesterol, and increased fecal biliary excretion.The work described in this article, Publication No. 1082 of the Oregon Regional Primate Research Center, was supported with grants RR-00163 and HL-16587 from the National Institutes of Health.  相似文献

Summary Long-term exposure of rats to isoproterenol and dopamine resulted in an increase of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase activity and a greater availability of 5-phosphoribosyl-1-pyrophosphate in the myocardium. Human skin fibroblasts in confluent cultures were incubated for 24 h in the presence of isaxonine phosphate (Nerfactor) and several related factors. The incorporation of 14C-proline into secreted proteins and the release of collagen into the medium were inhibited. When the cells were incubated for an additional period of 24 h after thorough washing, protein and collagen syntheses were found to be identical to those of controls, demonstrating that the inhibition of protein synthesis was independent of any toxic effect. When cells were incubated in the presence of both isaxonine and colchicine, the secretion of collagen was more inhibited than by colchicine alone, and proteins accumulated in the cells.  相似文献

Summary Incorporation of 32P into adrenal mitochondrial phospholipids (PL) increased in ACTH-treated rats, but it decreased in diabetics, inspite of the fact that these animals showed adrenal overactivity. Since diabetics did not show increased 11 -hydroxylation, as opposed to ACTH-treated rats, it is suggested that the stimulation of this enzyme activity by exogenous ACTH is related to an increased turnover of PL at the mitochondrial membrane. This process is impaired in diabetics and prevents the stimulation of 11 -hydroxylation.  相似文献

Zusammenfassung Es wird gezeigt, dass ein aus Schweinehypophysen gewonnenes lipotropes Hormon (-LPH), in vitro und in vivo bei verschiedenen Tierarten untersucht, eine Erhöhung der Lipolyse herbeiführt.
