Regulation of angiotensinⅡon Gαq/11 protein of vascular smooth muscle cell and its underlying mechanism

To study the regulation of angiotensin Ⅱ(Ang Ⅱ) on Gαq/11 protein of vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) and its underlying mechanism, the protein synthesis was detected by [³H]-leucine incorporation. Gαq/11 expression was measured by Western blot in cultured VSMC of rat aorta. The results showed that the level of Gαq/11 was downregulated after stimulated by AngⅡ for 1—6 h, while it was upregulated significantly by 12—24 h stimulation (P < 0.01) in VSMC. The [³H]-leucine incorporation of VSMC was increased after 24 h Ang Ⅱ stimulation. The biphase regulation of Ang Ⅱ on Gαq/11 protein was blocked by the Ang Ⅱ type Ⅰ receptor (AT1) specific antagnist losartan or PLC inhibitor U73122, while PD98059 did not have this effect. These data indicated that Ang Ⅱ contributed to VSMC hypertrophy by regulating the level of Gαq/11, and this effect was mediated mainly through AT1 receptor-PLC signal transduction pathway.     

Effect of calcium ions on the secondary structures of photosystemⅡ and its relations with photoinhibition

Calcium ions play an important role in the oxygen_evolving process of photosystem Ⅱ as demonstrated in many experiments. The changes of the secondary structures of PS Ⅱ induced by the depletion of Ca 2+ were reported. The results indicated that the removal of Ca 2+ led to the transition of α helix to turns and sheet structures. While Ca 2+ was re_added to the media, only the structures changed to turns could be recovered. The protein conformational changes of PS Ⅱ during the donor side photoinhibition induced by the depletion of Ca 2+ were also studied. This showed that the protein conformational changes differed between the control and Ca 2+ _depleted samples in a short period of illumination (within 10 min). However, the changes became similar when the illumination time was increased.

Syntheses, characterization, crystal structure and magnetic properties of copper(Ⅱ)α, β-unsaturated carboxylate complexes with trimethyl phosphate

Two ternary complexes Cu2A4[OP(OCH₃)₃]₂ (A represents CH₂== CH—COO- and CH₂== C(CH₃)—COO-) have been synthesized, and elemental analyses, IR, ESR, electronic reflectance spectra and magnetic studies were carried out. The single crystal X-ray diffraction shows that Cu₂[CH₂== C(CH₃)—COO]₄[OP(OCH₃)₃]₂ is triclinic, with space group P1, a = 1.05128(13), b = 1.7559(5), c = 1.94479(3) nm, α = 91.263(14)°, β = 102.559(6)°, γ = 106.339(13)°, Z = 4 and R = 0.0668. Two copper(Ⅱ) atoms are bridged by four a -methacrylate groups, and each copper(Ⅱ) atom is coordinated with a trimethyl phosphate molecule in the axial position, forming a distorted square pyramidal configuration. The symmetric center is between the two copper(Ⅱ) atoms, and the Cu-Cu bond distance is 0.26098(6) nm. The Cu-Cu distance and magnetic studies suggest that there exist antiferromagnetic interactions between the two copper(Ⅱ) atoms.
