Zusammenfassung Unter dem Einfluss der Indolessigsäure ist die Aminoacyl-SRNA-Synthese nicht verändert, dagegen zeigen die Ribosomen eine gesteigerte Fähigkeit von Aminosäure-Inkorporation.     

Polarographic behaviour of polycytidylic acid and its double-stranded complex with polyinosinic acid

Zusammenfassung Es ergibt sich, dass die Polyzytidylsäure unter dem neutralen pH eine polarographische Reduktionswelle ähnlich der Welle der denaturierten Desoxyribonukleinsäure gewährt. Zur Bestimmung der Polyzytidylsäure mit der «ersten Kurve» genügt bereits 1/10g des Stoffes. Im Komplex der Polyzytidylsäure mit Polyinosinsäure ist die Reduzierbarkeit der Polyzytidylsäure eliminiert.     

Thyrocalcitonin and citric acid

Zusammenfassung Thyreocalcitonin, das neue Kalzium und Phosphor senkende Hormon, wurde auf seine Wirkung auf den Zitronensäuregehalt von Plasma, Nieren und Knochen untersucht. Dabei wurde eine Senkung der Zitronensäure im Plasma festgestellt, nicht aber eine solche in Knochen und Niere.

Zusammenfassung Nachweis der enzymatischen Umwandlung von-Hydroxyl-Buttersäure in-Amino-Buttersäure im Gehirn.

gamma-Aminobutyric acid and cardiovascular function

Evidence supporting the hypothesis that GABA-ergic mechanisms are involved in controlling mammalian cardiovascular function has been reviewed and analyzed. In vivo and in vitro studies with GABA-agonists and GABA-antagonists have revealed that activation of GABA-receptors is involved in the control of blood pressure and heart rate. Further studies conducted with agents that modify central and/or peripheral GABA-ergic systems could lead to the discovery of drugs that might be useful for treating certain cardiovascular disorders in man, such as hypertension and stroke, and should increase our understanding of the pathophysiological bases of such disorders.

Hydroxylation of menthols and cineoles withm-chloroperbenzoic acid

Summary Reaction of menthols and cineoles withm-chloroperbenzoic acid afforded tertiary, secondary, and primary alcohols, some of which were natural products having potent plant growth regulatory activity or were mammlianm metabolies.We thank Nippon Terpene Co.
