Summary In synthesizing 6-(4-pyridyl)-3-mercapto-1,2,4-tria-zin-5-one from the oxime of 4-pyridyl-glyoxylic acid, isonicotinaldehyde-thiosemicarbazone is obtained through decarboxilation as a by-product, which is mainly responsible for the tuberculostatic properties.

Summary In the pure state 2-methyl-4-benzal-oxazolone-5 and 2-benzyl-4-benzal-oxazolone-5 are both colourless. The yellow 2-methyl-azlactone prepared by azlactone synthesis is contaminated with 2-styryl-4-benzal-oxazolone-5 which has obviously been formed from the 2-methyl-azlactone with excess benzaldehyde in an additional condensation reaction.

N-(5′-Phosphopyridoxyl)-4-aminobutyric acid: a stable bisubstrate adduct inhibitor of rat brain 4-aminobutyric acid aminotransferase

Summary N-(5-Phosphopyridoxyl)-4-aminobutyric acid, a stable adduct of pyridoxal phosphate and 4-aminobutyric acid, has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of rat brain 4-aminobutyric acid aminotransferase (GABA-T) with a K_i of 1.4 M.Acknowledgments. Isolement et identification du 5β-prégnane 11β, 17α, 21-triol 3, 20-dione (Dihydrocortisol) dans l'urine humaine

Summary 5-pregnane 11, 17, 21-triol 3, 20-dione (dihydrocortisol) has been isolated and identified in the urine of patients with feminizing adrenal cortical cancer. This steroid showed the same Rf as synthetic dihydrocortisol in six different chromatographic systems. After acetylation, its Rf was the same as that of 21 monoacetate of dihydrocortisol. After bismuthic or chromic oxydation, it had the same chromatographic Rf as 5-androstane 11-ol 3, 17-dione and 5-androstane 3, 11, 17-trione respectively. After chromic oxydation of its acetate, the Rf was the same as that of 21 monoacetate of cortisone.     

N″-cyano-N-4-pyridyl-N′-1,2,2-trimethylpropylguanidine,monohydrate (P 1134): A new,potent vasodilator

Summary N-cyano-N-4-pyridyl-N-1,2,2-trimethylpropylguanidine, monohydrate (P 1134) is a new agent which induces a marked and sustained hypotensive response in normotensive and renal, neurogenic, and spontaneously hypertensive rats, as well as in normotensive and renal hypertensive dogs. The overall potency of this compound is 2–3 times greater than that of hydralazine. The fall of blood pressure is accompanied by an increase in heart rate and cardiac output and a decrease in total peripheral resistance. The hypotensive effect appears to be due primarily to a direct relaxant effect on vascular smooth muscle.Acknowledgment. The helpful comments and advice of Dr W.O. Résumé Le 3, 17, 21-trihydroxy 5-pregnane (allo-tétrahydro-17-hydroxy-cortexone) et le 3,21-dihydroxy 5-prégane (allo-tétrahydro-cortexone) ont été identifiés dans l'urine humaine. Ces composés avaient les mêmes migrations chromatographiques avant ou après acétylation ou oxydation que les respectifs stéroïdes de synthèse.

Effects of 2-β-D-glucosyl-4-hydroxy-7-methoxy-1,4-benzoxazin-3-one onSchizaphis graminum (rondani) (insecta,aphididae) feeding on artificial diets

Summary 2--Glucosyl-4-hydroxy-7-methoxy-1,4-benzoxazin-3-one (DIMBOA-Glc), the main hydroxamic acid from maize and wheat, and its aglucone, decreased survival ofSchizaphis graminum reared on artificial diets. Both compounds were toxic for aphids and acted as feeding deterrents, at concentrations as low as 1 mM. The natural concentrations of glucosides of hydroxamic acids in wheat leaves reach up to 6 mmoles/kg fresh weight, thus falling within the range in which DIMBOA-Glc causes delecterious effects to diet-fed aphids.To whom correspondence should be addressed. Synthesis ofO 1.5-(β-D-galactopyranosyl) [DMet2, Hyp5] enkephalin amide,a new highly potent analgesic enkephalin-related glycosyl peptide

Summary A new series of O-glycosyl enkephalins has been prepared, following a convergent strategy, with high chemical yields. The galactosyl analogue,O ^1.5-(-D-galactopyranosyl) [DMet², Hyp⁵] enkephalin amide proved to be one of the most potent in vivo opioid agonists synthesized up to now.     

5′-Nucleotidase activity in liver homogenates of rats treated with CCl4, colchicine,cycloheximide, emetine,ethanol, ethionine and 5-fluorotryptophan

Summary 5-Nucleotidase activity, an enzyme marker of the plasma membranes, increases in female rat liver homogenates following ethionine administration, while homogenates from males show no changes. Treatment with CCl₄, colchicine, cycloheximide, emetine, ethanol and 5-fluorotryptophan does not significantly modify the 5-nucleotidase activity of liver homogenates of either female or male rats.     

改性秸秆膨胀床与固定床吸附去除SO_4~(2-)

含硫酸根离子(SO42-)废水可对环境造成危害,在排放之前需降低SO42-浓度.本文利用改性秸秆阴离子吸附剂制备吸附柱,分别在膨胀床和固定床操作下进行动态吸附实验,研究改性秸秆阴离子吸附柱去除SO42-的性能.结果表明,在改性秸秆膨胀床操作中,膨胀率随流速提高而线性增大;随膨胀率的增加,膨胀床去除SO42-的穿透时间缩短,柱吸附量降低,膨胀率不宜大于25%;在改性秸秆固定床操作中,随高径比的增加,吸附柱去除SO42-的穿透时间延长;而随进水SO42-浓度和流量的增加,床层工作时间显著缩短;在实验流量下,膨胀床的处理效果略优于固定床.SO42-解吸实验表明,0.1 mol/L NaOH溶液解吸效果最佳,是合适的吸附柱再生液.

Ein in den Lebermikrosomen enthaltenes Ferment, dassauerstoff-und TPNH-abh?ngig ist, bewirkt die Methoxylspaltung, und ein weiteres Ferment übertr?gt die Glukurons?ure aus ihrer Verbindung mit Uridinphosphat auf die entstandene phenolische Verbindung.      

(Z,E)-α-farnesene,main constitutent of the hypertrophied Dufour's gland of the major workers ofPheidole pallidula (Formicidae)

Summary In the European dimorphic ant,Pheidole pallidula, the Dufour's gland of the major workers is hypertrophied and secretes nearly pure (Z, E)--farnesene. This compound is also present in the Dufour's gland of the minor workers but constitutes only around 10% of the volatiles. 白光LED用红色荧光粉LiEu_(1-x)Y_x(WO_4)_(0.5)(MoO_4)_(1.5)的制备及其发光性能研究

以WO3,MoO3,Eu2O3,Li2CO3,Y2O3为原料,采用传统的高温固相反应方法制备了一种新的白光LED用红色荧光粉LiEu1-xYx(WO4)0.5(MoO4)1.5(x=0,0.1,0.2,0.3,0.4,0.5,0.6,0.8)系列,利用XRD和荧光光谱仪等对其进行了研究.结果表明这系列荧光粉可以被近紫外光(396nm)和蓝光(466nm)有效激发,发射峰值位于615nm(Eu3+离子的5D0→7F2跃迁)的红光,并且证明了Eu3+离子在晶体结构中占据了非反演对称中心的位置;激发波长与目前广泛使用的蓝光和紫外光LED芯片相符合,因此该系列荧光粉可以用作近紫外辐射的InGaN管芯激发三基色荧光粉系统或者是用来补充蓝光芯片激发的黄色荧光粉系统缺少的红色部分.详细研究了各种助熔剂对该体系荧光粉发光特性的影响.XRD的测量结果表明加入适量的助熔剂有利于LiEu1-xYx(WO4)0.5(MoO4)1.5荧光粉的结晶化,并且不引入杂相.适量的助熔剂的加入可增大该系列荧光粉的相对发光强度,并能有效降低荧光粉的平均粒径.     

Decreased incidence of renal cell carcinoma in rats with one kidney ingesting N-4-(4′-fluorobiphenyl) acetamide

Summary Buffalo strain male rats, 12 weeks of age, ingesting 0.04% N-4-(4-fluorobiphenyl)acetamide in a semisynthetic diet with both kidneys intact were more susceptible to the development of hyperplasia and carcinomas of the kidney than were rats with a uninephrectomy.
