建立了随机激光的半经典理论模型,得到适合随机激光的Maxwell-Bloch方程。采用时域有限差分法(FDTD)直接计算Maxwell-Bloch方程,研究了随机系统中场的类型和随机激光局域模式,同时发现随机系统中存在出现激发峰的临界泵浦速率Wp^c,随着泵浦强度的增强模式数增加,最终激发模式数达到饱和。  相似文献

By numerically solving Maxwell’s equations and rate equations in a two-dimensional (2D) active random media made of ruby grains with a three-level atomic system, the threshold gain behavior for a THz random laser is investigated. The spectral intensity variation with the pumping rate is calculated for both the transverse magnetic (TM) field and the transverse electric (TE) field. The computed results show that THz random lasing could occur in a 2D disordered medium for both the TM and TE cases. Further analysis reveals that the THz lasing threshold for TM fields is lower than that for TE fields.  相似文献

Polarization-dependent difference of the power spectra from a set of two-dimensional (2D) passive random media is investigated by simultaneously solving Maxwell's equations for both transverse magnetic (TM) and transverse electric (TE) fields. The random media have the same random constitution but different shapes. Results show that both two polarized states are morphology dependent, and the variety of the shapes has more influence on the selection of TM polarized modes than that of TE polarized modes. Such polarization-dependent difference of morphology property presents a new modeselecting technique for random lasers.  相似文献

Electrically driven semiconductor lasers are used in technologies ranging from telecommunications and information storage to medical diagnostics and therapeutics. The success of this class of lasers is due in part to well-developed planar semiconductor growth and processing, which enables reproducible fabrication of integrated, electrically driven devices. Yet this approach to device fabrication is also costly and difficult to integrate directly with other technologies such as silicon microelectronics. To overcome these issues for future applications, there has been considerable interest in using organic molecules, polymers, and inorganic nanostructures for lasers, because these materials can be fashioned into devices by chemical processing. Indeed, amplified stimulated emission and lasing have been reported for optically pumped organic systems and, more recently, inorganic nanocrystals and nanowires. However, electrically driven lasing, which is required in most applications, has met with several difficulties in organic systems, and has not been addressed for assembled nanocrystals or nanowires. Here we investigate the feasibility of achieving electrically driven lasing from individual nanowires. Optical and electrical measurements made on single-crystal cadmium sulphide nanowires show that these structures can function as Fabry-Perot optical cavities with mode spacing inversely related to the nanowire length. Investigations of optical and electrical pumping further indicate a threshold for lasing as characterized by optical modes with instrument-limited linewidths. Electrically driven nanowire lasers, which might be assembled in arrays capable of emitting a wide range of colours, could improve existing applications and suggest new opportunities.  相似文献

Weak cross-Kerr media provides additional degrees of freedom of qubits in quantum information processing. In this paper, by exploiting weak cross-Kerr nonlinearity, we propose an optical implementation scheme of one-dimensional quantum random walks. The random walks are described by the interaction of single photons with cross-Kerr media. The proposed scheme can also be used to implement one-dimensional quantum random walks on an infinite line.  相似文献

The increasing ability to control light-matter interactions at the nanometre scale has improved the performance of semiconductor lasers in the past decade. The ultimate optimization is realized in semiconductor microcavities, in which strong coupling between quantum-well excitons and cavity photons gives rise to hybrid half-light/half-matter polariton quasiparticles. The unique properties of polaritons-such as stimulated scattering, parametric amplification, lasing, condensation and superfluidity-are believed to provide the basis for a new generation of polariton emitters and semiconductor lasers. Until now, polariton lasing and nonlinearities have only been demonstrated in optical experiments, which have shown the potential to reduce lasing thresholds by two orders of magnitude compared to conventional semiconductor lasers. Here we report an experimental realization of an electrically pumped semiconductor polariton light-emitting device, which emits directly from polariton states at a temperature of 235 K. Polariton electroluminescence data reveal characteristic anticrossing between exciton and cavity modes, a clear signature of the strong coupling regime. These findings represent a substantial step towards the realization of ultra-efficient polaritonic devices with unprecedented characteristics.  相似文献

A new random-walk interpolation scheme was developed to simulate solute transport through composite porous media with different porosities as well as different diffusivities. The significant influences of the abrupt variations of porosity and diffusivity on solute transport were simulated by tracking random walkers through a linear interpolation domain across the heterogeneity interface. The displacements of the random walkers within the interpolation region were obtained explicitly by establishing the equivalence between the Fokker-Planck equation and the advection-dispersion equation. Applications indicate that the random-walk interpolation method can simulate one- and two-dimensional, 2nd-order diffusion processes in composite media without local mass conservation errors. In addition, both the theoretical derivations and the numerical simulations show that the drift and dispersion of particles depend on the type of Markov process selected to reflect the dynamics of random walkers. If the nonlinear Langevin equation is used, the gradient of porosity and the gradient of diffusivity strongly affect the drift displacement of particles. Therefore, random-walking particles driven by the gradient of porosity, the gradient of diffusivity, and the random diffusion, can imitate the transport of solute under only pure diffusion in composite porous media containing abrupt variations of porosity and diffusivity.  相似文献

Polarimetric scattering from inhomogeneous random media of non-spherical scatterers under a pulse incidence is studied. The time-dependent Mueller matrix solution of vector radiative transfer for layering random media is derived. Co-polarized and cross-polarized bistatic and back-scattering are numerically simulated. The shape and intensity of polarized echoes well depict the inhomogeneous fraction profile of random scatterers. Its functional dependence upon the fraction profile, layering thickness, and other parameters are discussed. 为了解决水轮机随机振动分析问题,采用了多级模态综合技术建立水轮机包括转动部件和固定部件在内的整机系统模型。由于轴承油膜刚度、阻尼,运动方程系数矩阵具有非对称特性。将系统所受随机激励分解为确定性分布矢量和一个随机过程标量的乘积,在位形空间对运动方程解耦,将直接谱分析方法推广到非对称系统,直接得到整机系统随机响应谱密度函数矩阵的每个元素,从而方便地计算随机响应的均方值,为水轮发电机组随机振动分析提供有效可行的方法。  相似文献

对受非均匀调制演变随机激励结构响应问题进行了研究.先用虚拟激励法将随机荷载化为确定性荷载,然后将非均匀调制演变随机模型用状态方程表示.借助于随机模型的状态方程表达式,可构造出增维精细时程积分格式,从而快速精确地求出结构的时变功率谱响应.同HPD-M格式相比,该方法不仅计算效率有所提高,而且由于避免了矩阵求逆,可直接处理具有刚体模态的结构.最后通过两个算例与HPD-M格式的计算效率进行比较,表明本方法具有显著的优越性.  相似文献

以伪均匀随机数为基础,通过计算和查表产生高斯分布和指数分布随机数,以89C51单片计算机系统为硬件,采用Keil C编程,实现了输出脉冲幅度可以是高斯分布、指数分布及均匀分布等模式,也可以两种以上模式共同输出,输出脉冲时间间隔可以是周期性的,也可以是指数分布的.该随机信号发生器可以实现多种分布模式的输出控制,较好地仿真了核脉冲幅度和时间的随机特性.  相似文献

Anderson localization of waves in disordered media was originally predicted fifty years ago, in the context of transport of electrons in crystals. The phenomenon is much more general and has been observed in a variety of systems, including light waves. However, Anderson localization has not been observed directly for matter waves. Owing to the high degree of control over most of the system parameters (in particular the interaction strength), ultracold atoms offer opportunities for the study of disorder-induced localization. Here we use a non-interacting Bose-Einstein condensate to study Anderson localization. The experiment is performed with a one-dimensional quasi-periodic lattice-a system that features a crossover between extended and exponentially localized states, as in the case of purely random disorder in higher dimensions. Localization is clearly demonstrated through investigations of the transport properties and spatial and momentum distributions. We characterize the crossover, finding that the critical disorder strength scales with the tunnelling energy of the atoms in the lattice. This controllable system may be used to investigate the interplay of disorder and interaction (ref. 7 and references therein), and to explore exotic quantum phases.  相似文献

We studied the resonant tunneling properties of one-dimensional photonic crystals consisting of single-negative permittivity and single-negative permeability media using transfer matrix methods. The results show that there exists a pair of resonant tunneling modes in this structure. The separation of the pair of tunneling modes can be tuned by varying the ratio of thicknesses of the two single-negative layers or the thickness of the defect layer. The electric field intensity of the resonant tunneling modes increases rapidly with the increase of the ratio of thicknesses of the two single-negative layers. The peak value of the field intensity of the resonant tunneling modes is enhanced by one order of magnitude when the ratio of thicknesses of the two single-negative layers increases by 0.4. This property will be applied widely in the field of nonlinearity optics. With the increase of the ratio of thicknesses of the two single-negative layers, the electric field of the tunneling modes becomes more localized, and the full width at half maximum of the tunneling modes becomes narrower. Besides, the pair of tunneling modes is insensitive to incident angle and thickness fluctuation. These properties will be used for the design of tunable omnidirectional double-channel filter with high quality factor.  相似文献

主要对阶梯型三能级原子系统中无反转激光的产生作系统的理论分析。从光场与原子介质相互作用哈密顿量的表达式出发,得到存在自发诱导相干的阶梯型三能级原子系统在与探测、驱动光场近共振的相互作用,及与非相干泵浦场作用下的密度矩阵方程。由无反转激光产生的条件,判断自发辐射诱导相干以及非相干泵浦对其产生的影响。在稳态条件下,通过数值模拟对所得的图形进行理论的分析和讨论得出SGC会削弱LWI产生,而非相干泵浦能增强LWI效应的结论。  相似文献
