Summary The in vitro development and attachment of hatched mouse blastocysts on the untreated substratum was enhanced by 10 M dibutyryl cCMP (dbcCMP). The result suggests that cCMP has an effect on embryonic development and on the blastocyst attachment process.25 November1986  相似文献

Summary The effect of thyroid deficiency and treatment with tri-iodothyronine (T3) on oxygen consumption by neonatal (6-day-old and 15-day-old) rat brain was examined using glutamate, -hydroxybutyrate, succinate and ascorbate+TMPD as substrates. The respiration rates decreased significantly in 15-day-old hypothyroid pups. Treatment of normal and of hypothyroid pups with T3 resulted in a significant increase in the respiration rate at both ages. Respiration rates with glucose as the substrate were not affected under these conditions.  相似文献

Summary The estradiol 17-synthesis by 4 pathway has been studied in homogenous cultures of Sertoli cells isolated from adult rat testes. Summary Daily s.c. injections of cyproterone acetate greatly decrease the protein content and-glucuronidase activity in the mouse hypothalamus. These effects are reversible and the recovery capacity of the animal seems to be inversely related to the duration of antiandrogenic treatment.Financial aid was given by CNR (finalized project Biologia della Riproduzione) and Ministry of Education. Summary InAeshna cyanea larvae, - and -ecdysone stimulate DNA synthesis in the midgut regenerative cells. In last larval instar, the number of cells obtained after the imaginal epithelium genesis is greater after - than after -ecdysone supply. Summary 10–7 M 20-OH-ecdysone treatment of a diploidDrosophila clone results in an inhibition of 60% of the DNA synthesis from 18 h of treatment on. After 48 h of hormone treatment the thymidine kinase activity is 70% inhibited; concomitantly a 60–70% lowering of the acid-soluble specific activity is observed. Summary Several 4, 5-unsaturated adenine nucleosides were shown to have antiproliferative activity against L 1210 leukemia cells in vitro. The active nucleosides were cytotoxic to the L 1210 cells as demonstrated by Trypan Blue uptake. The cytotoxicity was not induced by alterations in the ribonucleoside and deoxyribonucleoside triphosphate levels of the L 1210 cells.  相似文献

Zusammenfassung Alle untersuchten Bakterien waren gegenüber BAPN entweder ganz unempfindlich oder zeigten nur eine unspezifische Wachstumsverminderung. Diese Bakterien scheinen zum Studium lathyrogenischer Substanzen ungeeignet. Die Annahme, dass BAPN auf Mucopolysacchariden wirkt, konnte durch diese Untersuchung nicht gestützt werden.

Effects of 17-estradiol (E2) in vitro on Na-dependent Ca2+ efflux from, and depolarization-induced Ca2+ uptake into, the nerve cell were studied with the use of synaptosomes isolated from the brain stem, mesencephalic reticular formation (MRF), caudate nucleus and the hippocampus of long-term ovariectomized adult female rats. It was found that E2 (1) at a concentration of 10 nM or lower, stimulates Na-dependent Ca2+ efflux in the caudate nucleus and hippocampus, and does not affect the efflux in MRF and brain stem; (2) at concentrations above 10 nM has no effect on the Ca2+ efflux in any of the four structures investigated; and (3) produces a biphasic effect on the depolarization-induced Ca2+ uptake, increasing it in all structures except MRF at 10 nM concentration, and decreasing it at concentrations higher than 10 nM, irrespective of the structure investigated. These results suggest that E2, acting at extranuclear sites, modulates synaptic transmission via alterations of Ca2+ transport mechanisms in nerve endings.  相似文献

Summary Administration of tea to rats fed on a normal diet results in a marked drop in brain levels of total thiamine as well as of -ketoglutarate and pyruvate dehydrogenase activities. Summary 2,4,4,6-Tetrahydroxychalcone-2-glucoside-[-14C] is incorporated into biochanin-A in chana germ (Cicer arietinum L.) without randomization of the radioactivity. Possibly a very low incorporation into formononetin occurs also. After administration of the chalcone a large part of the activity is bound to the acid insoluble residue of the cicer shoots (lignin-like substances) in an (as yet) undetermined manner. This binding also occurs in heat denatured homogenates.

Summary When injected into 12-day-old suckling rats, dexamethasone caused a precocious disappearance of Fc receptors from enterocytes of the proximal small intestine. However, dexamethasone appeared to be necessary for the maintenance or production of such receptors in foetal rat gut cultured in vitro.Supported by an award from the Science and Engineering Research Council.  相似文献

Summary The cytostatic activity of N-methyl-N--chloroethylbenzaldehyd hydrazone, (B1) is at least equal to that of procarbazine when its effect is tested with the Ehrlich ascites tumor cells of the mouse and the Yoshida sarcoma of the rat. B1 causes a slighter decrease of mitotic cells and no shift from prophase to metaphase. These results suggest that the cytostatic effect of B1 is due to interference with cell metabolism or an effect at the cell membrane and not to an effect on cell proliferation. This assumption is supported by a considerable depression, of lymphocytes and a minor effect on granulopoiesis, which is especially sensitive towards proliferation toxins. All these findings suggest a different mechanism of action of B1 and procarbazine.  相似文献
