The action of anticholinergic drugs on the oxidation of indole activated by acetylcholine chloride

Zusammenfassung Mittels Fluoreszenzmessung wurde die durch Acetylcholin aktivierte Indoloxydation verfolgt. Es wurde festgestellt, dass alle im Versuch verwendeten anticholinergischen Substanzen diese Reaktion konzentrationsabhängig abschwächen. Ist kein Aktivator vorhanden, verläuft die Indoloxydation äusserst langsam. Es wird angenommen, dass die anticholinergischen Substanzen die aktivierende Wirkung des Acetylcholins aufheben.     

The mode of action of pilocarpine on the resistance of the chamber angle of the primate eye

Zusammenfassung Mit Pilocarpin herabgesetzter Widerstand des Kammerwinkels des Meerkatzenauges wird durch Atropin viel langsamer aufgehoben als die entsprechend induzierte Ciliarmuskelkontraktion. Dieser Pilocarpineffekt dürfte daher auf einer direkten oder indirekten Beeinflussung des Endothels des Trabekelsystems beruhen.

The action of acetylcholine on cells in cat cerebellar cortex

Résumé Nous avons examiné directement 562 cellules du cervelet du chat par la méthode iontophorétique. Dans les chats anesthétisés par Dial, 9% des cellules étaient excitées par l'acétylcholine ou les substances cholinomimétiques, mais dans les chats anesthétisés par pentobarbital, la proportion était de 39%. La distribution des cellules responsives correspondait à la distribution des cellules de la couche granulaire. L'action de l'acétylcholine et l'activité spontanée étaient bloquées par la dihydro--erythroïdine.

The rate of action of cyclic ammonium and sulfonium analogues of acetylcholine

Summary The rate of action of cyclic acetylcholine analogues in the 4-acetoxypiperidine and 4-acetoxythiacyclohexane series has been determined by using the isolated left guinea-pig atrium. The kinetic data obtained has been correlated with the experimental ED₅₀-value on the muscarinic receptor.Structure and Conformation Activity Relationships of Cyclic Acetylcholine Analogues.VI.We thank the German Research Association for supporting this work, and Mrs Ch. Effect of locally applied acetylcholine on the embryonic cardiac action potential

Résumé Le potentiel transmembranaire des cellules cardiaques de l'embryon de poulet est étudié ici par la technique des microelectrodes, pendant l'application localisée d'acétylcholine éjectée d'une micropipette. Le potentiel transmembranaire offre 2 processus différents: une dépolarization transitoire initiale à haute vélocité et une dépolarization prolongée et lente qui lui suite. L'intensité et la durée de ces 2 processus varient selon le lieu qu'occupe la cellule dans le cur.

Different action of atropine and some analogues on the end-plate potentials and induced acetylcholine potentials

Zusammenfassung Mittels intrazellulärer Mikroelektroden wurde der Einfluss von 7 Tropinestern auf Amplitude und Umkehrpunkt (E _r ) der Endplattenpotentiale am M. sartorius des Frosches untersucht. Alle Substanzen erniedrigen die Amplitude und verändern die Form der Endplattenpotentiale, während 3 von ihnen den Umkehrpunkt (E _r ) in der Richtung zum Na-Gleichgewicht verschieben.     

Effect of cholinesterase on the chemiluminescence of luminol

Summary The chemiluminescent oxidation of luminol was activated by cholinesterase. Physostigmine and dimethoate inhibited the luminescence, TEA had no effect. These results indicate that the esteratic site is responsible for the activating action of the enzyme.
