He is drown to rather than deterred by poetry and his fiction always has a dense and often poetic verbal texture, in which metaphor and image work as they do in poetry, and enrich and modify the bare significance of the moral form. This paper attempts to provide a brief but systematic survey of nonverbal communication in terms of its characteristics, functions, and classification. Nonverbal communication involves all those nonverbal stimuli in a communication setting that are generated by both the source and the receiver. First, unlike verbal communication, it does not have a fixed set of signs, and formal rules and structures; it is innate and continuous. Second, it performs such functions as repeating, complementing, substituting, regulating, and contradicting. Finally, nonverbal communication may be classified into two major types: those produced by the body (including physical appearance, body movements, physical contact, facial expressions, eye contact, and paralanguage); and those associated with the setting (including space, time, and silence).  相似文献

Objective: A study in a Caucasian population has identified two single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in ZNF533, one in DOCK4, and two in IMMP2L, which were all significantly associated with autism. They are located in AUTS1 and AUTS5, which have been identified as autism susceptibility loci in several genome-wide screens. The present study aimed to investigate whether ZNF533, DOCK4, and IMMP2L genes are also associated with autism in a northeastern Chinese Han population. Methods: We performed a similar association study using families with three individuals (one autistic child and two unaffected parents). A family-based transmission disequilibrium test (TDT) was used to analyze the results. Results: There were significant associations between autism and the two SNPs of ZNF533 gene (rs11885327: X^2=4.5200, P=0.0335; rs1964081 :)(2=4.2610, P=0.0390) and the SNP of DOCK4 gene (rs2217262 X^2=5.3430, P=0.0208). Conclusions: Our data suggest that ZNF533 and DOCK4 genes are linked to a predisposition to autism in the northeastern Chinese Han population.  相似文献

The C2 domain originally referred to the second of four constant structural motifs in protein kinase C (PKC). Now this domain represents a large structural family sharing a homologous dimensional structure in many proteins that play important roles in many organisms. The C2A domain is one of the two C2 domains of synaptotagmin I involved in the Ca^2 regulation of exocytosis. This domain is mostly composed of β-sheet except for a small fraction of α-helix, and therefore provides an ideal model for a protein folding study. In this report, the unfolding equilibrium of the C2A domain in guanidine hydrochloride (GdnHCI) containing solutions has been studied using ultraviolet (UV) difference spectrum, fluorescence spectrum, size exclusion chromatography (SEC), and circular dichroism (CD) spectrum. The results suggest that unfolding of the C2A domain occurs as a two-state process during GdnHCI titration. By examining the changes of both tertiary structure and secondary structure, no intermediates could be detected during this unfolding study. However, it has been found that the native state of the C2A domain has a large hydrophobic surface. This result suggests that as a fragment of a protein, the C2A domain itself may exist in a state with large hydrophobic surface. This hydrophobic surface may be the molecular basis for interaction between domains in the whole protein.Furthermore, the hydrophobic behavior may play a role during the oligomerization of svnaptotagmin.  相似文献

The essence of the peer-to-peer design philosophy is to design protocols for end hosts, or "peers", to work in collaboration to achieve a certain design objective, such as the sharing of a large file. From a theoretical perspective, it has been recognized that the peer-to-peer design paradigm resembles gossip protocols, and with appropriate algorithmic design, it maximizes the network flow rates in multicast sessions. Over the past ten years, research on peer-to-peer computing and systems, a unique and intriguing category of distributed systems, has received a tremendous amount of research attention from academia and indus-try alike. Peer-to-peer computing eventually culminated in a number of successful commercial systems, showing the viability of their design philosophy in the Internet. The peer-to-peer design paradigm has pushed all design choices of innovative protocols to the edge of the Internet, and in most cases to end hosts themselves. It represents one of the best incarnation of the end-to-end argument, one of the frequently dis-puted design philosophies that guided the design of the Internet. Yet, research on peer-to-peer computing has recently receded from the spotlight, and suffered from a precipitous fall that was as dramatic as its me-teoric rise to the culmination of its popularity. This article presents a cursory glimpse of existing results over the past ten years in peer-to-peer computing, with a particular focus on understanding what has stimulated its rise in popularity, what has contributed to its commercial success, and eventually, what has led to its pre-cipitous fall in research attention. Our insights in this article may be beneficial when we develop our thoughts on the design paradigm of cloud computing.  相似文献

For inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR), an ISAR signal in the crossrange direction has the characteristic of sparsity in the azimuth frequency domain. Due to this property, a Fourier basis is adopted as a kind of sparse basis, and high crossrange resolution imaging is achieved by using the compressed sensing (CS) method. However, the Fourier expanding for signal with finite length will result in energy leaking and spectrum widening. As a result, the Fourier basis cannot obtain the optimum sparse representation for signals of unknown frequencies in most cases. In this paper, we present an improved Fourier basis for sparse representation of the ISAR signal, which is constructed by frequency shift and weighting of the Fourier basis and available to obtain the robust recovery performance via CS. Simulation results show that the improved CS method outperforms conventional CS method that uses the Fourier basis.  相似文献

The microstructure of graphite spherulites (G.S.) in Ce addition ductile cast iron was carried out using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) techniques. The structral characterization of the graphites is as following: there are platelets growing along the periphery as well as fan-like structure formed from platelet aggregates in the diameter section of spherulite, in which most of the platelets are with sizes ranging from several to tens nm in radial; the [001] direction of the platelets would have a tend to parallel to radial of the G. S. and meanwhile, they also a small misorientation deviated from the radial among the platelets each other. It shows that the anisotropy of graphites has been restrained by adding Ce element in cast iron and the structural characterization of the G. S. is consistent with the Double' s model of the conical helixes formed in helical growing and branching.  相似文献

The technical parameters and the structural factors of melt-blown nonwovens used as filteringmedium are analysed,the orientation of particles filtered in a filter is described,and the optimalparameters for air filtration are obtained.The results are shown as follows:the ratio of tenacity oflongitudinal to cross direction has a close agreement with the random coefficient of fiber arrange-ment in practice;large particles are most likely trapped on the surface of a filter,and smaller parti-cles are filtered throughout the depth of a filter,and the deeper,the smaller;moreover,higher fil-tering efficiency and lower pressure drop can be effected through the optimization of parameters.  相似文献

A novel negative-resistance transistor (NRT) with a Lambda shaped I-V characteristic is demonstrated in the 0.5 μm standard CMOS process. To save on the number of component devices, this device does not use standard device models provided by CMOS processes, but changes a MOSFET and a BJT into a single device by fabricating them in the same n-well, with a p-type base layer as the MOSFET’s substrate. The NRT has a low valley current of -6.82 nA and a very high peak-to-valley current ratio of 3591. The peak current of the device is -24.49 μA which is low enough to reduce the power consumption of the deivce, and the average value of its negative resistance is about 32 kΩ. Unlike most negative-resistance devices which have been fabricated on compound semiconductor substrates in recent years, this novel NRT is based on a silicon substrate, compatible with mainstream CMOS technology. Our NRT dramatically reduces the number of devices, minimizing the area of the chip, has a low power consumption and thus a further reduction in cost.  相似文献

Based on the nonlinear Lyapunov exponent and nonlinear error growth dynamics, the spatiotemporal distribution and decadal change of the monthly temperature predictability limit (MTPL) in China is quantitatively analyzed. Data used are daily temperature of 518 stations from 1960 to 2011 in China. The results are summarized as follows: (1) The spatial distribution of MTPL varies regionally. MTPL is higher in most areas of Northeast China, southwest Yunnan Province, and the eastern part of Northwest China. MTPL is lower in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and Huang-huai Basin. (2) The spatial distribution of MTPL varies distinctly with seasons. MTPL is higher in boreal summer than in boreal winter. (3) MTPL has had distinct decadal changes in China, with increase since the 1970s and decrease since 2000. Especially in the northeast part of the country, MTPL has significantly increased since 1986. Decadal change of MTPL in Northwest China, Northeast China and the Huang-huai Basin may have a close relationship with the persistence of temperature anomaly. Since the beginning of the 21st century, MTPL has decreased slowly in most of the country, except for the south. The research provides a scientific foundation to understand the mechanism of monthly temperature anomalies and an important reference for improvement of monthly temperature prediction.  相似文献

In 1994, University of Southern California computer scientist, Dr. Leonard Adleman solved the Hamiltonian path problem using DNA as a computational mechanism. He proved the principle that DNA computing could be used to solve computationally complex problems. Because of the limitations in discovery time, resource requirements, and sequence mismatches, DNA computing has not yet become a commonly accepted practice. However, advancements are continually being discovered that are evolving the field of DNA computing. Practical applications of DNA are not restricted to computation alone. This research presents a novel approach in which DNA could be used as a means of storing files. Through the use of multiple sequence alignment combined with intelligent heu- ristics, the most probabilistic file contents can be determined with minimal errors.  相似文献

Poly anionic silicate materials,which demonstrate a high theoretical capacity,high security,environmental friendliness and low-cost,are considered one of the most promising candidates for use as cathode materials in the next generation of lithium-ion batteries.This paper summarizes the structure and performance characteristics of these materials.The effects of different synthesis methods and calcination temperature on the properties of these materials are reviewed.Materials that demonstrate low conductivity,poor stability,cationic disorder or other drawbacks,and the use of various modification techniques,such as carbon-coating or compositing,elemental doping and combination with mesoporous materials,are evaluated as well.In addition,further research topics and the possibility of using these kinds of cathode materials in lithium-ion batteries are discussed.  相似文献
