Effect of dopaminergic blocking agents on plasma luteinizing hormone releasing hormone activity in hypophysectomized rats

Résumé Des rats femelles hypophysectomisées depuits 60 jours ont un haut niveau d'activité LRF plasmatique. Le traitement par bloqueurs des récepteurs dopaminergiques (pimozide ou fluspirilène) fait disparaître l'activité LRF plasmatique et indique que ce sont des systèmes dopaminergiques qui règlent les mécanismes hypothalamiques de libération hormonale.

Résumé Des rats mâles intacts ou ayant une lésion du ME ont reçu une seule injection intrajugulaire de LRF synthétique. Les variations de taux de LH hypophysaire et sérique (en fonction du temps et de la dose réponse) montrent que le LRF contrôle la sécrétion (la décharge et la synthèse) du LH hypophysaire.     

Preparation of a luteinizing hormone releasing factor from sheep hypothalamus

Résumé Un matériel provoquant la libération d'hormone lutéinisante (LH) d'hypophyse de rats femelles (impubères ou mûres), aussi bien que d'hypophyse d'oiseaux femelles (Steganura paradisea), a été obtenu par la précipitation à l'acétone d'extraits acides de l'hypothalamus de mouton. L'évidence que l'activité de ces extraits n'est pas due a la contamination LH a été obtenue grâce à une méthode sérologique. L'antisérum préparé contre l'extrait d'hypophyse de mouton inhibe la capacité de l'LH de mouton d'épusier l'acide ascorbique de l'ovaire, mais pas celle de l'extrait hypothalamique.     

Somatostatin inhibits in vitro release of luteinizing hormone releasing hormone from rat mediobasal hypothalamic slices

Summary Somatostatin, in concentrations ranging from 10^–10 M to 10^–7 M, induces a dose-dependent inhibition of LHRH release from mediobasal hypothalamic slices incubated in vitro. In contrast, VIP, secretin, glucagon, substance P, neurotensin and arginine-vasotocin do not affect spontaneous release of LHRH.     

Tremorogenic effect of thyrotropin releasing hormone in rats

Zusammenfassung Thyrotropin-Releasing Hormon (TRH) erzeugt unmittelbar nach i.v. Injektion an Pentobarbital-narkotisierten Ratten einen feinschlägigen Tremor und Haarsträuben. Diese Symptome werden durch eine direkte zentralnervöse Wirkung von TRH und nicht durch Stimulation der Schilddrüse ausgelöst. Die Wirkung ist dosisabhängig und spezifisch für das Tripeptid pGlu-His-Pro.

Prolactin and growth hormone releasing activity of [D-Met2, Pro5]-enkephalinamide in the rat after systemic administration

Summary The growth hormone (GH) and prolactin releasing (PRL) activity of [D-Met², Pro⁵]-enkephalinamide (EKNH₂), an opioid peptide analog with higher opiate agonist activity that morphine, was compared in the unanesthetized male rat to those of equimolar doses of morphine upon systemic injection. EKNH₂ proved to be a higher PRL, but not GH, releaser than the opiate alkaloid.     

Castration hypersecretion of luteinizing hormone but lack of ovarian compensatory hypertrophy in underfed rats

Zusammenfassung Die Herabsetzung der Futterration um 50% verhindert bei Ratten die kompensatorisch auftretende Hyperplasie nach einseitiger Ovariektomie. Die Zunahme des Gehaltes an Plasma-Luteinisierungshormon, die nach Fütterung aller Ovarien auftritt, ist unabhängig von der Nahrungsmenge und steigt bei diesen Tieren auch nach Entfernung des verbliebenen Ovars nicht an.
