藏药抗肝癌活性研究

本实验采用快速溶剂萃取法制备收集100种常用藏药的环己烷、乙酸乙酯和甲醇提取物,并运用MTT法对两个肝癌细胞株HepG2和SMMC-7721进行各提取物的抗肝癌活性测试,同时选用L-02细胞来评价其体外毒性.抗肝癌活性结果显示100种常用藏药中17种藏药材有良好的抗肝癌活性,其IC50值均小于150 μg/mL,其中马兜铃、蓝翠雀花、甘青青兰、掌叶橐吾的乙酸乙酯提取物显示出显著的抗肝癌活性,其IC50值均小于50 μg/mL,但马兜铃乙酸乙酯提取物对正常肝细胞L-02显示出一定的毒性.在进一步的抗HepG2肝癌活性验证中,结果显示蓝翠雀花乙酸乙酯提取物和甘青青兰乙酸乙酯提取物具有显著的抗肝癌活性,两者在抗HepG2肝癌细胞株活性中皆显示出显著的时效和量效关系.运用倒置显微镜以及Hoechst 33258荧光染色法对经过蓝翠雀花乙酸乙酯提取物或甘青青兰乙酸乙酯提取物作用的HepG2细胞形态进行观察,结果提示蓝翠雀花和甘青青兰乙酸乙酯提取物可能是通过诱导HepG2细胞凋亡而显示抗癌活性.     

UK drug trials: row over student trial

The British Medicines Commission has undertaken an urgent review of arrangements for testing new drugs on healthy volunteers in the wake of charges that one company, Charterhouse Clinical Research Unit Ltd., was using London students in toxicity tests of an antitumor drug without having informed the volunteers' physicians of the risks involved and without plans for long-term monitoring of the participants' health. Under current British law, drug studies with healthy volunteers are regarded as a private matter between the volunteers and the drug companies, which vary in their practices on disclosure of risks and compensation for injuries.     

Genetic pesticides: Monsanto goes ahead with trials

The Monsanto Company will soon notify the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that it plans to conduct the first field test of a genetically-engineered microbial pesticide, thereby becoming the first company to break with the convention whereby private corporations have voluntarily sought approval for genetic engineering experiments from the Recombinant DNA Advisory Committee (RAC) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). It is assumed that Monsanto's decision was influenced by a preliminary legal injunction blocking NIH approval of such field trials without a formal environmental assessment. EPA will allow tests, after 90 days' notice, if it raises no objections to the protocol. Although EPA will not formally call on RAC to examine the protocol, an agency spokesperson said there is "total agreement" between EPA and RAC on what data must be included.     

Interferon therapy: side effect scare hits French trials

The French Ministry of Health, acting on the advice of its scientific council, has halted clinical trials of interferon in cancer patients after four out of eleven recipients died of myocardial infarctions. Trials are expected to resume after the domestically produced drug stock is repurified and successfully retested. It has been suggested that council oversight should be extended to imported interferon and other experimental drugs which are now being used in human trials without the Ministry's control or knowledge.

香茶菜属植物全世界大约有150种，已研究品种达80种。香茶菜属植物具有抗肿瘤及抗菌消炎作用，其生物活性物质是二萜类化合物。本文对香茶菜属植物的研究现状、抗肿瘤机理及药用功能进行了概括，并对其药用功能的开发利用提出看法。     

9种傣药提取物对DPPH自由基清除作用的研究

对9种傣药用甲醇进行提取,得到的甲醇提取物依次用石油醚、乙酸乙酯、正丁醇进行萃取,这样每一种傣药得到4种提取物,并用DPPH法测定了不同溶剂提取物清除DPPH自由基的能力,结果表明:不同傣药显示出不同的清除自由基的能力,在9种傣药中以黑皮跌打藤茎正丁醇提取物清除自由基的能力最强.同一种傣药不同溶剂提取物显示出不同的活性,通常其活性成分存在于乙酸乙酯和正丁醇提取物中,相比而言,石油醚提取物的活性最差.
