Summary The level of metallothionein-like proteins was determined in different tissues of 6 animal species. The highest concentrations were found in pig and rat tissues. The organs richest in metallothionein-like proteins included: kidneys (101–305 g/g), intestine (127–257 g/g) and liver (54–496 g/g).Studies performed under the Polish-American agreement 05-009-2 with National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, PHS, USA.  相似文献

Summary Therapeutic concentrations of digitoxigenin (10–7–3× 10–7 g/ml), producing positive inotropic effects, did not alter resting and action potentials of electrically driven guinea-pig auricles. However, toxic concentrations of digitoxigenin (5 × 10–7–10–8 g/ml), producing arrhythmias and contracture of the myocardium, had a marked influence upon resting and action potentials and conduction velocity.  相似文献

Summary There is a correlation between dichloromethane dosis (X) of 1–6 mmole/kg administered i.p. to rats and the sciatic motor conduction velocity (Y): Y=57.1–1.091 X. The correlation coefficient r is 0.437 (p<0.01). Presumably, the decrease of nerve conduction velocity is caused by the endogenous carbon monoxide production due to dichloromethane biotransformation.  相似文献

Summary Remak's nerve in the chicken was examined ultrastructurally and electrophysiologically to determine the characteristics of fibers in the nerve trunk. The ratio of unmyelinated fibers to myelinated ones was 1111. The mean number of unmyelinated fibers was 3555±232 (SEM, n=5) and they had a mean diameter of 0.502±0.034 (SEM) m. The compound action potential consisted almost entirely of a large diphasic waveform which had a mean peak conduction velocity of 0.62±0.031 (SEM, n=5) m·s–1 at 37°C.  相似文献

Summary Indocyanine green (ICG) obeyed the Beer-Lambert law within the concentration range 1.25 g/ml–10.0g/ml in distilled water, methanol, dimethylformamide (DMF), 1.2-propanediol and aqueous buffers (pH 9.0), but only up to 7.5 g/ml in human bile and 0.5% human albumin, and only to 5.0 g/ml in human duodenal fluid. ICG was rapidly (<1 h) decomposed to a colorless derivative at pH<5 and >11, but remained relatively stable for 48 h at pH 8–10. ICG is an indicator and a weak acid with a pKa of 3.27. In bile stabilized with 25% methanol, the precision of the method (CV) is 5% and the accuracy is 106–127%.  相似文献

Summary Probenecid (100–750 g·ml–1) was found to inhibit cardiac contraction force in untreated and digoxin-treated (100 g·ml–1) isolated right guinea-pig atrium in vitro by a reversible process, without influencing beating frequency. At low concentrations (1.5–60 g·ml–1),14C-probenecid was accumulated into right atrium by an oxygen-dependent process. Correlation between uptake and negative inotropic action of probenecid could not be found.  相似文献

Zusammenfassung 6×10–10 g bis 10–4 g J 125 Rinderserum-Albumin (BSA) bzw. 1,0×10–7 bis 1,0×10–6 g J 125 Rinderserum--Globulin (BGG) werden 3 × 107 Milzzellen normaler Meerschweinchen in vitro angeboten. Unabhängig von der Höhe des Angebotes beträgt die Menge des aufgenommenen BSA 1%, die des aufgenommenen BGG 10% des Angebotes. Durch 4C Inkubations-temperatur wird die Aufnahme z.T. behindert. Die Aufnahme findet nach wenigen Sekunden Inkubationszeit statt und ist nach etwa 2–3 min abgeschlossen.

Résumé 10 mg d'azauridine-6 ont été injectés dans les ufs au 4è et au 8è jour d'incubation. Dans nos précédentes expériences, cette dose a provoqué des malformations dans les embryons du poulet. Summary Kinetic investigation by means of stopped flow techniques showed the rate of deoxygenation of haemoglobin to be slower in the presence of spectrin. At pH 7.15, the kinetic constant was 27.2 sec–1 in presence of spectrin instead of 34.3 sec–1 for haemoglobin alone. Also, equilibrium studies have revealed that the oxygen pressure for half-saturated haemoglobin decreased when spectrin was added to the reaction medium. At pH 7.35, the log(pO2)1/2 was 0.88 for haemoglobin in presence of spectrin instead of 0.93 for haemoglobin alone. Summary In the presence of calmodulin and phosphate and an ATP-regenerating system, Triton-treated skinned fibers of theTaenia coli could be made to contract and relax by step changes of Ca++ within about 30 sec. In the absence of phosphate, relaxation was slower, and during this slow relaxation tension was not maintained actively. The passive tension could be abolished by phosphate (3–6 mM). Phosphate had little effect on contractile tension but decreased the speed of contraction.Supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. Summary Na+, K+-adenosinetriphosphatase (Na+, K+-ATPase) activity was decreased in liver plasma membranes from rats in which cholestasis had been induced by i.v. administration of sodium taurolithocholate (5 moles/100 g b. wt). Incubation of liver plasma membranes with taurolithocholate (10–1300 M) caused significant and dose dependent reductions of Na+, K+-ATPase activity at taurolithocholate concentrations above 100 M. These findings lend support to the hypothesis that cholestasis induced by monohydroxy bile acids is at least partially the result of an inhibition of hepatic Na+, K+-ATPase activity.This work was supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation.The authors thank Mr H. Summary GABA (6×10–6 M) binding to synaptosome-enriched fractions of cat CNS exhibited a clear rostro-caudal gradient, whereas glycine (6×10–6 M) binding was greatest to particles of cerebellar cortex, and this was followed by medulla caudate nucleus cerebral cortex pons > corona radiata. Strychnine-SO4 (10–3 or 10–4 M) inhibited the binding of GABA and glycine in all brain regions studied; at 10–5 M this drug inhibited the binding of both GABA and glycine only to particles of the cerebral cortex.This study was supported by Centro Nacional Ramón y Cajal and Fundación Juan March. Summary A single i.p. injection of lithium chloride (5–7.5 moles/g b.wt) in mice caused a 70–80% decrease in renal, cardiac and splenic ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) activity within 1 h, whereas pulmonary ODC activity was unaffected. Lithium chloride did not have any effect on ODC activity in vitro when added to homogenates of the tissues studied. Summary An improved and short method is described for the isolation of intact eosinophilic leukocytes from horse blood with high yield (1–1.5 g/20 1). Viability and purity of the preparations were verified by light and electron microscopy and by the trypan blue exclusion test. Summary Tendons of the tail of white rats show a thermoelastic contraction after the fifth month of age which appears suddenly at 64–66°C. It is not seen in animals of 3–4 months old. After the nineteenth month, and especially in 27 to 33 month old rats, this contraction becomes much increased. It is supposed that this phenomenon expresses changes in the structure of elastin in ageing animals.  相似文献

Mean plasma insulin concentration was reduced and mean plasma glucose concentration increased following the administration of N-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester (L-NAME; 100 mol kg–1 i.a.) in conscious calves given continuous infusions of exogenous glucose (30–60 mol min–1 kg–1 i.v.). It is concluded that the rise in plasma insulin concentration which occurs in these animals in response to glucose is mediated, at least in part, by a nitric oxide-related factor (NOx).  相似文献

Summary The euglobulin fraction necrosin, prepared according toMenkin from pleural exudates of dogs, strongly inhibitsin vitro bacterium phagocytosis by leucocytes obtained from the abdominal cavity of rats. Depending on the concentration, the average effect amounts to 18–35%. Necrosin has a similar effect (21–38%) on the circulating leucocytes of the dog. The euglobulin fraction prepared by the same method from the serum of untreated dogs has but a slight inhibitory effect on leucocyte activity.  相似文献
