Metabolic studies of Hg-203 onChlamydomonas reinhardi

Summary Sterile cultures ofChlamydomonas reinhardi, WT⁺, were treated with Hg-203 at 25°C to identify probably formed volatile mercury compounds. Experiments were performed with living and dead cells under aerobic or anaerobic conditions, respectively, and the mercury concentration was measured in the system algae/nutrient medium. We found a timerelated decrease of mercury concentration in the cell suspension and the cell-free nutrient medium due to a reduction of Hg⁺⁺ to Hg⁰, probably caused by extracellular enzymes; monomethyl or dimethyl mercury could not be detected.This work was supported by a grant of Österreichisches Bundesministerium für Gesundheit und Umweltschutz.

Résumé Des résultats antérieurs suggèrent que l'accumulation sélective de TPPS au niveau de certaines tumeurs est liée aux caractères particuliers de leur métabolisme. Au cours d'expériences utilisant des préparations tissulaires, il n'a pas été possible de mettre en évidence une dégradation du TPPS. D'autres mécanismes impliqués dans la distribution du TPPS sont discutés.

Des mutants auxotrophes pour l'arginine ont été isolés, après traitement par les 3 agents, sur un milieu contenant de l'extrait de levure comme unique source d'azote.

Role of bile in intestinal absorption of203Pb in rats

Summary The author studied absorption of²⁰³Pb after administering intraduodenally²⁰³Pb eliminated with bile. The results obtained were compared with absorption of203Pb administered into the duodenum as²⁰³PbCl₂ in rats forming 2 groups, one with bile ducts cannulated, the other intact. It was found that bile played an important role in absorption of Pb from the gastrointestinal tract. Absorption of Pb²⁰³ is significantly reduced if the bile is drained off by means of a canula.

Inhibitory effect of exogenous histones on cellular growth and DNA synthesis in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii.]

The addition of exogenous histones to synchronous culture of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, at the beginning of the cell cycle, leads to the death of the cells. The same amount of histones added in the middle of the cycle, only blocks the cell division. The mechanism of this inhibition effect of the histones could involve a block at the level of the chloroplast DNA replication.     

大兴矿N2-203开采保护层卸压瓦斯抽采研究

针对开采保护层时瓦斯容易超限的问题,分析了开采煤层过程中,保护层在采动应力作用下卸压增流效应及卸压瓦斯运移规律,采用了对被保护层瓦斯卸压抽采和分源治理的技术措施,以大兴矿瓦斯治理为例,通过实施"封堵漏风口、浅埋大管路、短抽上隅角"等开采保护层和钻孔抽采瓦斯等关键性治理技术,解决了开采高瓦斯煤层群过程中综采面大面积悬顶上隅角空间和回风流中浓度超限的问题,实现瓦斯资源的回收再利用。

Study on the distribution of methyl-mercury (203Hg) by whole body autoradiography of macaque monkeys (Macaca irus)]

The distribution of methyl-mercury labelled with mercury-203 has been studied in Monkeys by whole body autoradiography technique. The mercury is rapidly absorbed. It is localized in all the body and mainly in well defined areas of the central nervous system.
