Zusammenfassung Chromatinhaltige feulgenpositive Bläschen wurden im Cytoplasma der Erythrocyten vonCyprinus carpio gefunden. Sie haben ihren Ursprung in den unmittelbar an der Kernmembran anliegenden Mitochondrien, die während der Chromatinaufnahme allmählich ihre Struktur verlieren.

Genetic effects of γ-radiation on natural populations ofDrosophila willistoni

Zusammenfassung Eine isolierte natürliche Population vonDrosophila willistoni erhielt während eines Jahres eine beträchtliche Beimischung von F₁-Co 60-bestrahlten Fliegen. Die genetische Analyse ergab, dass die Häufigkeit der letalen und semiletalen Allele nach 5 Generationen rasch wieder auf das Normale sank. Die Frequenz der Letalallele war allerdings noch hoch, gleich hoch wie in der in Massenkultur gehaltenen bestrahlten Zucht. Erst nach 15 Generationen sank sie zum Niveau der natürlichen Kontrollpopulation. Einzelne durch Bestrahlung erhaltene Letalallele blieben in der Population erhalten.

Influence of chlorpromazine on nuclear and cytoplasmic uptake of35S-methionine

Résumé Des rats ont été traités avec de la chlorpromazine et ont reçu en suite une seule injection de³⁵S-méthionine. Des radioautographies des coupes histologiques ont montré que la chlorpromazine a un effect inhibitoire dans la synthèse de la protéine nucléaire et cytoplasmatique. Les cellules qui ont une grande vitesse de synthèse protéique sont les plus affectées.

The effects of oxamate on the contractility of isolated rat atria

Zusammenfassung Oxamat, das die Lactat-Dehydrogenase hemmt, erniedrigt die Kontraktionsfähigkeit des Vorhofs mit und ohne Anwesenheit von Glucose im Medium und bei Hinzufügung von 2-DG oder Atropin. Hohe Konzentration von Pyruvat erhöht die Depression von Oxamat auf den Vorhof im Glucose-Milieu. Oxamat sensibilisiert das Gewebe für funktionellen Abbau durch Glycolyse.

Electron microscopy of thin sections of reticulocytes

Zusammenfassung Retikulozyten von Meerschweinchen, in denen Anämie durch Blutentzug hervorgerufen worden war, wurden in Dünnschnitten elektronenmikroskopisch untersucht. Dabei wurden dieselben filamentösen Körper mit charakteristischer Mitochondrienstruktur, die auch nach teilweiser Trocknung hämolysierter Ausstriche von Retikulozyten auftreten, gefunden. Diese Filamente formen die durch Vitalfärbung (Janusgrün B) dargestellte innere Struktur der Retikulozyten und besitzen Affinität zu den spezifischen Mitochondrienfarbstoffen. Auf Grund dieser Feststellungen wird die Natur der «substantia granulo-filamentosa» für mitochondrienartig und somit präexistent gehalten.

Cell wall degradation in senescing tobacco leaf discs

Zusammenfassung In ausgestanzten Blattstücken vonNicotiana tabacum, welche auf Wasser schwimmend inkubiert werden, findet im Verlauf von 7 Tagen ein beträchtlicher Abbau der Hemizellulose statt. Benzyladenin (10^–5 M) verzögert den Abbau, Abscisinsäure (5×10^–5 M) verstärkt ihn. Der Gehalt an Zellulose verändert sich im Verlauf der Alterung kaum.

Zinc iodide-osmium tetroxide reactive substances in the matrix of granulated vesicles in the rat pineal nerves

Resumen Se demuestra que la reserpina depleciona los componentes de las vesículas sinápticas de los nervios pineales de la rata revelables por la mezcla de yoduro de zinc-tetróxido de osmio a 4°C durante dos horas y a 20°C durante 15 h mientras que lap-CPA sólo depleciona los componentes revelables a 4°C durante 2 h.

DNA and RNA content in diploid and tetraploid amphibians

Resumen En el anuro tetraploide naturalOdontophrynus americanus, el contenido de DNA es el doble que el determinado, bioquimicamente, en los especimens de la población diploide deO. americanus. Sin embargo el contenido de RNA de ejemplares de las dos poblaciones es aproximadamente igual. Aparentemente, mecanismos de regulación bloquean el esceso de material genético en el tetraploide.

An effect of diet on homovanillic acid excretion

Dark-recovery in a petite mutant ofSaccharomyces cerevisiae irradiated with ultraviolet light

Zusammenfassung Erholung nach UV-Bestrahlung wurde bei diploiden atmungsdefekten Hefezellen nach Zugabe eines Energiesubstrats (Glukose) im Aufbewahrungsmedium festgestellt. Die Erholungsraten hängen von der UV-Dosis und von der Glukose-Konzentration im Aufbewahrungsmedium ab. Ein Erholungsmaximum wurde bei einer Glukose-Konzentration von 0.15% beobachtet.
