Summary As visualized in the electron microscope, the parotid gland of the rabbit has a dual innervation. Both adrenergic and cholinergic nerves are equally distributed in the parenchyma and often run together within the same nerve bundle. Nerve terminals are observed not only subjacent to the basement membrane but interposed between the latter and the acinar cells, where they establish a close membrane to membrane contact with the latter.This investigation was supported by grants from Svenska Medicinska Sällskapet and the University of Umeå.  相似文献

Summary In normal young rats, groups of Clara cells in the bronchioles showed the formation of many cytoplasmic blebs on their cytoplasmic domes. Detached blebs rested on the bronchiolar epithelial cells. The scanning (SEM) and transmision electron microscope (TEM) studies suggest localized changes of Clare cell surface activities by increased formation of cytoplasmic blebs which may represent the apocrine type of secretion.This project was supported by research grants from NIH HD-10139 and the American Heart Association, Kansas Affiliate. Summary Multinucleated cells in the retinal pigment epithelium of the albino rat are shown with the scanning electron microscope beside normal mononucleated cells. We suggest that such elements are formed during foetal life, owing to the absence of any mitotic activity in adult rats.  相似文献

Zusammenfassung Vesikelartige Gebilde wurden in Papillarmuskeln von Ratten beobachtet. Diese wie Diplokokken aussehenden Doppelvesikel lagen an der Zelloberfläche, innerhalb der transversalen Tubuli und im Zwischenraum der Glanzstreifen. Die Ergebnisse lassen eine enge Beziehung zwischen diesen diplokokkenartigen Vesikeln und den sogenannten Zystisomen vermuten.  相似文献

Zusammenfassung Eine elektronenmikroskopische Untersuchung der Nerven des Hornhautepithels der Mäuse hat ergeben, dass die Nervenfasern in tiefen Rinnen in den basalen Epithelzellen liegen. Zusammenfassung Elektronenmikroskopische Untersuchungen des Analorgans bei Drosophilalarven zeigten, dass die cuticulare Oberfläche dieses Organs durch Einstülpungen der Epicuticula vergrössert wird. Die an die Cuticula angrenzende Plasmamembran der Hypodermiszellen bildet zahlreiche Faltungen. Je nach der Salinität des Aussenmediums weist die Anzahl der Plasmamem-branfaltungen und der im Cytoplasma lokalisierten Mitochondrien regulatorische Veränderungen auf.

Normal human autopsy anterior pituitary tissue from 5 cases was embedded in LR White resin and immunolabelled using silver-enhanced 5-nm protein A gold probes. Follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH), growth hormone (GH) and prolactin (PRL) were immunolocalised to the level of secretory granule. A two-sided double-labelling method was used to cross-react two hormones at a time with respect to their corresponding antibodies. All possible combinations of the six pituitary hormones were tested. Plurihormonal granules were found that contained LH + FSH, LH + TSH, and FSH + TSH. Each hormone was also found in monohormonal granules. Granule diameter was significantly larger in the pluri as opposed to monohormonal granules.  相似文献

Summary Air and blood capillaries of the lung of the domestic fowl constitute the functional gas exchange units. They anastomose profusely and interlace with each other in 3 dimensions. Summary Cytoplasmic threads found on the luminal surface of the developing chick neuroepithelium contain a remnant of the spindle complex and an electron-dense midbody. Most threads become long and thin and eventually split at the midbody. This finding suggests that the midbody plays a role in the final separation of daughter cells.This study was supported in part by grants from the Research Council and the Charles and Johanna Busch Memorial Fund of Rutgers University.  相似文献

Our study relates to the development of the membrane relief of the blastomeres of the trout egg from the stage before their division up to gastrulation. The surface of the blastoderm shows first a more or less dense system of crests which by the time of gastrulation are replaced by microvilli distributed over the whole surface of the enveloping layer. The deep blastomeres, loosely connected to each other by lamellipodes and filopodes produce only a few projections of their membranes and these are only semispherical bodies. Possible roles of the microvillosities in the respiratory exchange of the egg and in the motility of the enveloping layer, are considered.  相似文献

Summary The formation of the myotomes to chick embryos was studied by using experimental and scanning electron microscope techniques. With the aid of the quail-chick marker system, it was demonstrated that the dermatome gives rise to the myotome plate. SEM studies support the conclusion that the myotome cells originate only from the edges of the dermatome.Supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (Ch 44/2).  相似文献

The early differentiation of the connective tissue was investigated in the perinotochordal zone of 2-3 day-old chick embryos. After characterizing the different tissue components by transmission electron microscopy, their arrangement and distribution were examined by SEM. The results are discussed with regard to the role of the extracellular material in embryonic tissue interactions.  相似文献
