Mice and rats were adjusted to daily treadmill training programs, which were heavy enough to increase the oxidative capacity of skeletal muscles. Endurance training did not affect the activities of catalase and glutathione peroxidase and the concentration of vitamin E in the lungs of mice and rats. Thus increased ventilation and oxygen utilization induced by exercise training do not modify lung antioxidants, in contrast to hyperoxia and hypoxia.  相似文献

Résumé On décrir et compare les glycosaminoglycanes du parenchyme et de la plèvre du poumon bovin. Tous les glycosaminoglycanes principaux, sauf le kératan-sulfate, y ont été trouvés, mais il y a beaucoup plus d'héparansulfate dans le parenchyme.

Résumé Après injection i.v. de 5-hydroxatryptamine-C14 et de noradrénaline-H3 à des rats, on a préparé et centrifugé des homogénates de leurs poumons dans un gradient linéaire de sucrose. Après sacrifice immédiat ces deux amines sont retrouvées dans une grande fraction de particules pulmonaires sédimentant dans 1M de sucrose. Après 30 min les poumons des rat offrent un pic additionel de noradrénaline-H3 correspondant à une densité de sucrose de 0.4 à 0.5.

Addition of zinc ion to the superfusion medium did not cause a recovery in this decreased activity of the enzyme. Periostin is a protein that plays a key role in development and repair within the biological matrix of the lung. As a matricellular protein that does not contribute to extracellular matrix structure, periostin interacts with other extracellular matrix proteins to regulate the composition of the matrix in the lung and other organs. In this review, we discuss the studies exploring the role of periostin to date in chronic respiratory diseases, namely asthma and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Asthma is a major health problem globally affecting millions of people worldwide with significant associated morbidity and mortality. Periostin is highly expressed in the lungs of asthmatic patients, contributes to mucus secretion, airway fibrosis and remodeling and is recognized as a biomarker of Th2 high inflammation. Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is a fatal interstitial lung disease characterized by progressive aberrant fibrosis of the lung matrix and respiratory failure. It predominantly affects adults over 50 years of age and its incidence is increasing worldwide. Periostin is also highly expressed in the lungs of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis patients. Serum levels of periostin may predict clinical progression in this disease and periostin promotes myofibroblast differentiation and type 1 collagen production to contribute to aberrant lung fibrosis. Studies to date suggest that periostin is a key player in several pathogenic mechanisms within the lung and may provide us with a useful biomarker of clinical progression in both asthma and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.  相似文献

Zusammenfassung Die beiden Annahmen, dass sich bei Thoraxkompression die Verminderung der Impulssequenz der Lungendehnungsrezeptoren analog zum Lungenentdehnungsreflex auswirke, und dass sich dessen inspiratorische Atmungseffekte zu jenen des Lungenkollapsreflexes addieren, erscheinen gerechtfertigt. Diese Annahmen ermöglichen eine quantitative Differenzierung zwischen dem respiratorischen Einfluss der Lungendehnungs-und Lungenkollapsrezeptoren bei Thoraxkompression. Damit können die auf die Erregung der Lungenkollapsrezeptoren zu beziehenden Atmungsveränderungen (f,I/E) erstmals isoliert und quantitativ dargestellt werden.

Summary Compared to normal humans, lung carcinoma patients show increased tyrosinase activity. 7 serum enzymic fractions or carriers were present in the diseased state. In Sheep lungs, we have shown that a mannosyl-transferase activity is involved at microsomal level. This enzymatic system is able to catalyze the incorporation of mannose from GDP-mannose into two different endogenous acceptors: lipids and proteins. The mannolipid has the properties of a mannosyl-phosphoryl-polyprenol. The kinetic studies of product biosynthesis demonstrate that no precursor-product relationship exists in this system; this is an original behaviour of the lung in glycosylation phenomenon.  相似文献
