Fair, Kind ,and True is All My Argument——On the Theme of Shakespeare＇s Sonnets

The emphasis of the paper is the theme of the works: “fair, kind, and true is all my argument”, for the theme is the spirit of the Sonnets. Only when one understands the theme, can one fully realize the literary and artistic value of Shakespeare‘s Sonnets. The perfect unity of “fair, kind and true” is the ideal state of Shakespeare‘s life. The sonnets which reinforce the theme are really “the rarest pearls of Elizabethan poetry”.     

On the Alternative Use of Verse and Prose in Hamlet

As a master in language,William Shakespeare is proficient in using verse and prose alternatively in his tragedies and comedies,which is regarded as the key to his success in literature by some critics.In this thesis,I would like to analyze the three criteria for the alternation of verse and prose in Hamlet,in which a discussion of functions of the alternation will be included     

Evolution of dark energy–dark matter-coupled expanding universe

The present universe is dominated by repulsive dark energy. It is natural that the coupling between the dark energy and the attractive gravity has to be taken into account in studying the evolution of our universe. Here, we induce an evolution equation for dark energy-dark matter- coupled universe. The solutions of the dynamic equation provide a specific picture of cosmic evolution, which is well compatible with current observed evolution histories of both Hubble parameter and equation of state parameter of dark energy. In this picture, the already observed uni- verse has undergone through three epochs the epoch of equilibrium between gravity and dark energy at cosmo- logical redshifts z 〉 1, the phase transition epoch at z between about 0.5 and 1, and the present acceleration epoch starting from z≌ 0.5. The expected matter-domi- nated deceleration epoch has not been seen yet, which requires future deep observations to look back upon more early universe.

The result shows that the ratio of reprinting of this journal has been increased and the areas where the authors come from and their organization scattered in the whole world are widened as well, which implies a better-known fame of the journal.

＂Journal of Jilin University （Science Edition）＂ is a comprehensive academic journal in the fields of science sponsored by Jilin University and administrated by the Ministry of Education of the People＇s Republic of China. The journal started publication in 1955. The original name at starting publication was ＂Journal of Natural Science of Northeast People University＂, which was changed into ＂Acta Scientiarum Naturalium Universitatis Jilinensis＂ in 1958 owing to the name change of the university. The Descriptive Study of “Sun Zi：The Art of War- Making Assessments”——Domestication and Foreignization in the English translation of the Article

The ideas of “Domestication” and “Foreignization” in Translation was put forward by the American scholar L. Venuti in 1995, indicating that there are two aspects involved in the process of translation. Of one is that a translation should get the readers closer to the author, while the other one is to get the author closer to the readers. The English translation of “Sun Zi： The Art of War” done by Lin Maosun is an outstanding example representing these two basic concepts in translation principles. It abounds with plenty of excellent examples demonstrating how domestication and foreignization can be achieved in the translation of Chinese classics.

Ten years＇ venturing in ZnO nanostructures： from discovery to scientific understanding and to technolosy applications

Zinc oxide is a unique material that exhibits semiconducting, piezoelectric and pyroelectric multiple properties. Nanostructures of ZnO are equally important as carbon nanotubes and silicon nanowires （NWs） for nanotechnology, and have great potential applications in nano-electronics, optoelectronics, sensors, field emission, light emitting diodes, photocatalysis, nanogenerators, and nanopiezotronics. Ever since the discovery of nanobelts （NBs） in 2001 by my group, a world wide research in ZnO has been kicked off. This review introduces my group＇s experience in venturing the discovery, understanding and applications of ZnO NWs and NBs. The aim is to introduce the progress made in my research in the last 10 years in accompany to the huge social advances and economic development taking place in China in the last 10 years.
