A method of combining SE-tree to compute all minimal hitting sets

In model-based diagnosis, the candidate diagnostic results are generally characterized by all minimal hitting sets for the collection of all conflict sets. In this paper, a new method is proposed to judge a hitting set by the number of conflict sets corresponding to components, and the computing procedure is formalized by combining revised SE-tree (set enumeration tree) with closed nodes to generate all minimal hitting sets. Results show that because closed nodes are added into SE-tree, the search efficiency is highly improved. Furthermore, the proposed method is easy to be understood and implemented. Compared with other effective algorithms with completeness in some experimental tests, the diagnosis efficiency of our proposed method is higher, particularly for single- and double-fault diagnosis.

Introduction to game theory

The basic ideas of game theory were originated from the problems of maximum and minimum given by J. von Neumann in 1928. Later, wars accelerated the study of game theory, there are many developments that contributed to the advancement of game theory, many problems of optimum appeared in economic development process. Planning to Plan-Integrating Control Flow

In many planning situations, computation itself becomes a resource to be planned and scheduled.We model such computational resources as conventional resources which are used by control-flow actions,e.g., to direct the planning process. Control-flow actions and conventional actions are planned/scheduled in an integrated way and can interact with each other. Control-flow actions are then executed by the planning engine itself. The approach is illustrated by examples, e. g., for hierarchical planning, in which tasks that are temporally still far away impose only rough constraints on the current schedule, and control-flow tasks ensure that these tasks are refined as they approach the current time. Using the same mechanism, anytime algorithms can change appropriate search methods or parameters over time, and problems like scheduling critical time-outs for garbage collection can be made part of the planning itself.     

Kinetic approach to the study of froth flotation applied to a lepidolite ore

The number of published studies related to the optimization of lithium extraction from low-grade ores has increased as the demand for lithium has grown. However, no study related to the kinetics of the concentration stage of lithium-containing minerals by froth flotation has yet been reported. To establish a factorial design of batch flotation experiments, we conducted a set of kinetic tests to determine the most selective alternative collector, define a range of pulp pH values, and estimate a near-optimum flotation time. Both collectors (Aeromine 3000C and Armeen 12D) provided the required flotation selectivity, although this selectivity was lost in the case of pulp pH values outside the range between 2 and 4. Cumulative mineral recovery curves were used to adjust a classical kinetic model that was modified with a non-negative parameter representing a delay time. The computation of the near-optimum flotation time as the maximizer of a separation efficiency (SE) function must be performed with caution. We instead propose to define the near-optimum flotation time as the time interval required to achieve 95%–99% of the maximum value of the SE function.

A global survey regarding to scientist抯 life style, working stress and the differences among different countries has been conducted by sending a questionnaire via e-mail. 321 questionnaires were sent out, with a feedback of 196 re-cipients in total. 61% recovery rate of all the questionnaires showed that these issues are somewhat widely concerned by scientists themselves.
