Synthesis of an analog of human calcitonin gene related peptide, [Asu]-h-CGRP

The analog of h-CGRP, des-Ala-deamino-dicarba-h-CGRP, was synthesized by the combination of the conventional solution and the solid phase peptide synthesis methods. This analog showed stronger and longer-lasting hypocalcemic and hypophosphatemic activities than the natural hormone.

Computing and modelling: Analog vs. Analogue

We examine the interrelationships between analog computational modelling and analogue (physical) modelling. To this end, we attempt a regimentation of the informal distinction between analog and digital, which turns on the consideration of computing in a broader context. We argue that in doing so, one comes to see that (scientific) computation is better conceptualised as an epistemic process relative to agents, wherein representations play a key role. We distinguish between two, conceptually distinct, kinds of representation that, we argue, are both involved in each case of computing. Based on the semantic and syntactic properties of each of these representations, we put forward a new account of the distinction between analog and digital computing. We discuss how the developed account is able to explain various properties of different models of computation, and we conceptually compare analog computational modelling to analogue (scale) modelling. It is concluded that, contrary to the standard view, the two practices are orthogonal, differing both in their foundations and in the epistemic functions they fulfil.     

Effect of in vivo pre-treatment with oestradiol and either GnRH,GnRH agonistic analog or GnRH antagonistic analog on GnRH-stimulated secretion of LH in vitro

Summary In vivo treatment with GnRH or with GnRH agonistic analog (AG), but not with GnRH antagonistic analog (ANT), depleted the LH stores of the rat pituitary gland. This depletion was potentiated by oestradiol. Oestradiol augmented the in vitro LH response of the pituitary gland to GnRH. This augmenting effect of oestradiol became smaller with increasing rates of in vivo administration of GnRH or AG, but not with ANT. With respect to both depletion of the LH stores and suppression of the augmenting effect of oestradiol, AG ist about 20 times as potent as GnRH.     

基于双MCU混合I／O模块设计与实现

针对传统数据采集模块采集数据类型单一的缺点，设计了基于双MCU混合10模块。在同一个模块中具有模拟量输入、模拟量输出、开关量输入、开关量输出、脉冲计数量输入等多种功能，I／O端口可任意定义为其多种输入输出功能中的一种，数据上传接口通信采用CAN总线。在现场应用中达到了可以灵活设置端口功能、高精度采集多种数据组合的目的。

Erythropoietic effects of PGE2 and 2 endoperoxide analogs

Summary The erythropoietic effects in exhypoxic polycythemic mice of two endoperoxide analogs were assessed and compared with PGE₂. The 9a, 11a epoxymethano analog (U-44069) was found to be a much more potent erythropoietic stimulus than the 11a,9a analog (U-46619) or PGE₂.This work was supported by a Senior Research Grant-in-Aid from the American Heart Association-Louisiana (DMG) and USPHS Grant No. AM 13211 (JWF).

DNA-polyintercalation compounds. Synthesis of ellipticine dimers]

Many symmetrical bis [9-methoxy 2-ellipticinium] dioxodiazaalkanes salts were synthesized from 9-methoxy ellipticine. An analog derivative of 9-hydroxy ellipticine was also prepared. Some of these dimers bind to DNA by a bifunctionnal mode of intercalation.     

Regulation of mouse trophoblast giant cell nucleus development in hatched mouse blastocysts by cyclic cytidine 3′,5′-monophosphate (cCMP)

Summary The dibutyryl analog of cCMP enlarged the nuclei of trophoblast gian cells and promoted blastocyst development. The result suggests that cCMP has a trophic effect on embryonic development, specifically by altering the size of the trophoblast cell nucleus but does not enhance trophoblast cell proliferation processes.

Summary The dibutyryl analog of cCMP suppressed sperm amplitude of lateral head displacement and hyperactivation. Sperm motility was inhibited by dibutyryl cCMP with a shift toward less linear trajectory sperm movements. The results suggest a role of cCMP as an inhibitory signal on sperm motility patterns related to sperm capacitation.     

Change in the envelope of a murine retrovirus produced in the presence of toyocamycin]

Toyocamycin (TMC), an adenosine analog, impairs qualitatively and quantitatively virus production in a cellular system chronically infected by Friend Virus. Viral particles released by cell cultures treated with 0.2 microgram/ml of the drug have lost most of their glycoprotein (gp 70) content. This phenomenon is likely to modify the viral envelope and could explain the loss of infectivity of the virus.     

Vasotocin protects rats against convulsions induced by pentylenetetrazol

Summary The AVP analog, vasotocin, administered s. c. effectively antagonized pentylenetetrazol-induced convulsions, supporting the contention that AVP may be a mediator in convulsive disorders.This work was supported by the Medical Research Council of Canada.

Effect of acute administration of delta 1-tetrahydrocannabinol on beta-endorphin levels in plasma and brain tissue of the rat

Acute treatment with delta 1-tetrahydrocannabinol (delta 1-THC) elevated the concentration of beta-endorphin-like immunoreactivity (beta-ELIR) in plasma and in the hypothalamus, but not in the hippocampus of rats habituated to the injection procedure. These effects were not obtained with the psychotropically inert analog of delta 1-THC, cannabidiol. In animals that had not been habituated to the injection procedure, placebo treatment induced a decrease in hippocampal beta-ELIR.     

Action of somatostatin and 3 analogs on external pancreatic secretion in the rat]

The effect os somatostatin (SS) and of its analogs D Trp 8-SS and Asn 5-SS was studied upon the external pancreatic secretion of the Rat after stimulation by 2 deoxy-D-glucose. The secretion of sodium and bicarbonate was similarly inhibited by all four peptides. The analog D Trp 8-SS was more effective in inhibiting pancreatic protein excretion.
