THE EXTENDING OF JOUKOWSKY''''S LEVER METHOD AND ITS APPLICATIONS IN LINKAGE PROBLEMS

Joukowsky's Lever Method is the method used to find out the equilibrant and balancingmoment of various mechanisms.The advantage of this method is to save the complicated processof finding out the reactional forces in kinematic pairs.But,the method is only limited to thosemechanisms composed of rigid bar linkages and with negligible friction.In practical cases,hydropneumatic elements and spring constraints may be included in the mechanism;and alsowith the development of high load,high speed and high accuracy of mechanism,the friction maynot be neglected.So,the authors have tried to develop the Generalized Joukowsky's LeverMethod,which can be used to find out the equilibrant and balancing moment of the mechanismwhen the hydropneumatic elements and spring constraints are included and the friction inkinematic pairs has to be considered.Three examples are here analyzed to show the applicationsof this method.     

APPLICATIONS OF LAYER POTENTIAL METHOD TO BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS FOR GENERAL ELLIPTIC AND PARABOLIC EQUATIONS ON LIPSCHITZ DOMAINS

For D a Lipschitz domain in R~n, we mean that, for simplicity, D is a domain over the graph of a Lips-chitz function, we use D to denote the boundary of D. We study the general elliptic equationa_(ij)D_iD)ju=0 (1)with Dirichlet boundary datau=g on D,(2)or the Neumann boundary dataa_(ij)N_iD_ju = g on D, (3)where N = (N_1,…,N_n) is the normal direction of ( D, a_(ij)' s are constants satisfying the usual ellipticity con-dition and symmetry condition. Denoting D_T = D_x(O,T), S_T= Dx(O,T), we also study the generalparabolic equation     

A METHOD OF ANALYSIS OF MACHINE TOOL TRANSMISSION CHAIN ERROR

The indexing transmission chain error of gear cutting machines is an obviously periodic timefunction. If data are acquired properly while surveying and analyzing the error with grating typeinstrument attached to a micro-computer, the analysis will be easier and quicker. In this paper,such a system is introduced; a data acquiring interface is designed. Therefore, real-time samplingcan be performed. The results obtained from the indexing tramsmission chain error of several gearhobbing and shaping machines with this system were satisfactory.     

CALCULATION OF SURFACE TENSION OF LIQUIDS BY MONTE CARLO METHOD

In this paper a method has been proposed for the calculation of cohesive work and thus sur-face tension of liquids by the Monte Carlo computer simulation method with the use of Kihara po-tential. The surface tension values calculated for liquid argon, oxygen and nitrogen are in fairagreement with the experimental data.     

SOME MATHEMATICAL MODELS OF MEASUREMENT OF CYLINDRICITY ERROR WITH MULTI-POINT METHOD

Through the analyses and researches on some related references of error separation techniques at home and abroad, this paper has built-up some mathematical models to measure and evaluate workpiece cylindricity error with multipoint method as well as unconstrained optimization methods. A few shortcomings of the technique to solve rotational error and cylindricity error are found, and some precise formulas are given. It is feasible by computer simulation tests.

A NEW METHOD OF SEARCHING FOR EXTREME POINTS

A new method of searching for extreme points is proposed.The procedure requiresonly one observation at each step.In this paper we prove the almost sure convergenceand asymptotic efficiency of the new procedure.

A METHOD FOR THE MEASUREMENT OF DYNAMIC TRANSMISSION ERROR OF PRECISION HOBBING MACHINES

In the paper,a new method for the measurement of the dynamic transmission crror of preci-sion hobbing machines using only one sensor is proposed.The dynamic transmission error i ob-tained by demodulating the phase-modulated signal according to the Hilbert transform priple.The results of dynamic testing show that the new method is effective.     

GEAR PROFILE ANALYSIS BY THE METHOD OF MOVING FRAMES

Setting up a pair of moving frames on the two pitch circles, the instantaneous contact point being considered the attendant point of the frames, the equation of the trace of the contact points in the frame being p = p(t~), we can deduce that the basic rule for the gear profiles is dp / ds = - csos 0 where s is the are length of the pitch circles. Giving a known function of p = p (0), we can obtain the equations of the two conjugate gear profiles and the curvatures and inductive curvature of the profiles. The second order contact phenomenon that a given gear profile can contact with the mating gear at two points simultaneously is discussed by the method of moving frames.
