Zusammenfassung Die Cuticula vonFasciola hepatica ist von proteinähnlicher Natur und von einem Saum aus Mucopolysacchariden oder Mucoproteiden umgeben. Sie enthält Glycogen und sudanophile, wohl lipidähnliche Substanzen.

Zusammenfassung Histochemische Untersuchungen der Mehlischen Drüse vonFasciola hepatica erweisen deren Phospholipidabsonderung. Es wird auf die Möglichkeit einer engen Bezichung des Phospholipids zu Lezithin und seine enzymatische Aktivierung zur Herauslösung von Eischalenprokursoren hingewiesen.

Studies on the action of some enzymes on the cyst wall of isolated metacerkariae from the liver fluke,Fasciola hepatica L

Zusammenfassung Die Wirkung von protein-, kohlenhydrat-und lipidspaltenden Enzymen auf die Wand von isolierten Metazerkarien ausFasciola hepatica scheint zu zeigen, dass wenigstens Teile der äusseren Schicht aus ziemlich resistentem Protein, das möglicherweise aromatische, basische Aminosäuren, Leucin und Glycin enthält, bestehen. Das Vorkommen von sauren Kohlenhydraten, insbesondere von Hyaluronsäure oder Chondroitinschwefelsäure A oder C in den inneren Schichten ist wahrscheinlich.

Lewis blood group activity in Fasciola hepatica]

Lewis blood group specificities are detected in the liver Fluke: Fasciola hepatica. Such specificities had never been reported in nature, other than in the human body. The investigation of this phenomenon might contribute to a better understanding of the mechanisms involved in parasite-host relationship.

The chemotherapeutic activity of selected fasciolicides against immatureFasciola hepatica in mice

Zusammenfassung Die Wirkung von vier faszioliziden Agentien (Rafoxanid, Oxyklozanid, Nitroxynil und Diamphenethid) wurde im Mäuseversuch verglichen. Alle vier Substanzen waren gegen unreifeFasciola hepatica wirksam und entfalteten ihre höchste Wirksamkeit gegen spätere unreife Stadien, mit Ausnahme von Diamphenethid, welches gegen die Frühstadien der unreifen Parasiten am stärksten war.     

Chaetogaster limnaei K von Baer 1872 onLymnaea tomentosa: Ingestion ofFasciola hepatica cercariae

Summary The fresh water mollusc,Lymnaea tomentosa, the intermediate host of the liver fluke is heavily infested under natural conditions with ectocommensal annelid,Chaetogaster limnaei. These annelids which destroy the larval stages ofFasciola hepatica have been observed in the laboratory. The association ofC. limnaei with the snail intermediate host is of value in exploiting a control measure against economically important liver fluke disease.I am greatly indebted to Dr. M. J.
